You’re supposed to set the skid shoes so that the scraper bar is about 1/16”-1/8” off the ground. That will keep it from getting hung up on stuff all the time.
Just picked up my Greenworks 60v dual stage over the weekend and it works like a champ. Cut through a substantial windrow and power wise it feels on par with my previous gas blower. The most surprising thing for me was how effective the auger was in ECO mode - that mode added roughly 10 minutes of runtime and was still powerful enough to clear snow.
I have this unit too. Still waiting for a big snow though. I got to use it last Saturday but only had a 5`` snow to clear. It is certainly powerful, and faster than I expected. The controls are different than my old MTD. I have the tool only so I use my 3 4 amp batteries I use for my mower and other tools. I was out for about 15 mn. in 0* weather. Cleared my driveway walks and berm the plow left, and only used a third of my battery's capacity. I might get 45 mn. run time with my 3 batteries`s. My old machine had an impeller kit and this one throws just as far or more without one.
I hope you have better luck than me. I bought one over a year ago and used it twice last year and once this year. I tried to use it yesterday and it will not do a thing. The battery has four bars so thats not it. It was stored inside and not abused.
Does it have a reverse? I noticed your auger was still going as you’re backing up too, is that just how you were doing it or is that always how it runs? I was hoping for some “end of the driveway, snow plow snow footage” maybe I missed it??
Nice. No reverse? It looks like you still have a young back :) Any long trips with the Rivian yet? I just cancelled my order after watching all the problems with the fast chargers out west. I saw that you took your X out to CA in the fall. Is that the reason? Still waiting for the Cybertruck :(
I don't have one looking to buy one Green works or EGO is better and more durable to keep atleast for next 5 to 7 years for the price we pay in Canada. Also the two batteries with fully charged are enough to clean up this type of size lot with 7" or 8" high snow fall by Echo mode or two more extra batteries needed? , how many hours needed to be recharged ( 2 hrs I guess)
If it's not too dense to be shoveled, a single stage could do just fine. They're definitely easier to move around. Biggest battery is best. If it's heavy snow, dual stage is certainly handy
I live near Vancouver BC and we just had 12 inches of snow 2 days ago. My 1 stage Greenworks 60v snowblower could not cope. I've pulled the trigger and I'm upgrading to this model. Also, Greenworks Canada has a good sale price now - 33% off or more depending on the model (Feb 28, 2023)

Ordered the 80v version, looks like this one is working out nice so can't wait to try mine out. Does it run on only one battery or different ah batteries or does it put them in series with each other?
@@ThamilNesan I'd say they are probably very similar. The 80v might have slightly more run time as high voltage means less current for the same watts. I'd guess maybe a bit more power. That said if you are already on the 60v platform with other tools I would just get the 60v model. I went with 80v myself since all my other tools are 80v as well. I recently posted a video on the 80v one. We're not getting much snow this year though so have yet to fully put it to the test. But so far it's been running great from the usage I do put it through.
All of the area in the video yes. But I only had two batteries in it and it was done by the end. Could have had 50% more battery if I had the third pack in
@@Teslavangelist HOw well do you think the machine would run on one 60v 5amp battery? I just picked this up on sale with no batteries, but I have that one battery from the lawnmower. I was hoping it would be ok and wait for a battery sale !
@@Teslavangelist OK thanks for the reply. I was hoping one battery would be enough but it is looking like I might need a second one. hopefully something goes on sale before I really need it!
wow 3 batteries of 8 amp. How much is that whole package? $2000? Pretty pricey. And the wheels go too fast? That thing must eat power seriously. I just use the "corded" 13 amp Greenworks - no worries about the battery power getting weak and I can push the speed as I want it. Seems just as effective as this blower at 1/10th the cost. Sure there's the cord that's a big hassle but it's possible to work with it. haha.
My gas one does it in a quarter of the time and starts on the second pull every time after 25 years of use, thought about electric but nope! Definitely would try a Tesla though

Nice! I do wish there was a slower wheel speed as sometimes I just want it to inch forward

How does the Rivian perform? 😍
Great so far
I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, we have medium to heavy snowfall. Very rarely goes over 12 inches, I am wondering if a single stage will be enough.
