DeWalt 60V Snow Blower first use (UNSPONSORED)

- First time using the DeWalt 60V Max snowblower. Still very early in the season so the snow was really wet. The batteries only used up 1 bar and my driveway is about 85 feet long and 20 feet wide. I like how quiet the DeWalt snowblower is and I found the performance to be as expected. Of course for the price I could buy a much more powerful snow blower but I already have a DeWalt lawnmower and I'm willing to sacrifice some performance in order to keep my batteries all the same and have the option to use the batteries in my other DeWalt tools. I don't have an affiliation with DeWalt or Home Depot and I'm not a DeWalt fan boy. Thanks for watching!
You need more snow for the machine to throw farther. For snow that deep, it's more of a convenience that you don't have to push and lift. Basically you start from the middle of your driveway and build up the sides until you get to each edge. My gas one works exactly the same as that one.
The snow was wet. Deeper wet snow will just plug it faster.
Hey man just wanted to say thanks for the first review(s) I’ve seen of this product. Love the ‘no bullshit’ approach to your reviews. Cheers
You don’t know how much I appreciate that! Made my day. Cheers
Thank you for your honest review and for taking time to make this video and posting it. I really appreciate you showing the battery usage bars left after your driveway was cleared. Wet snow sucks to shovel. This blower can certainly be a game changer when my sciatica is acting up.
Thanks for taking the time to comment! Appreciate it!
Thanks for that! Been so curious to see how this thing works in practice. Looking forward to Episode 2 with deeper snow
All I do is check the forecast. 😂 Thanks for watching 🤙
Picked up one on Facebook marketplace, tool only with the powered chute (no batteries) for 300 bucks. Love it.
That is a smoking deal!!! Jealous.
Thank you for showcasing this machine. Not all snowfalls are equal and we definitely get wet snow from time to time. Seeing it plug up that many times has changed my mind for now. I was looking at purchasing this to compliment my new Honda tracked 28" 2 stage machine: The Honda will do the major clean up and I'll follow up with the Dewalt to clean right down to the pavement.
My gas-powered Cub Cadet plugs up all the time too on the heavy/wet snow. This looks to be quite comparable to that, which, for electric, I'm okay with.
The driveway snow isn’t the issue with these, it’s what the city plow leaves that these machines can’t handle.
thats too little snow to need that. You could drive right over that no problem. It did a great job on that sidewalk!
Good old wet snow, plugs up even the best gas powered ones
Thank you for the video. I was on the fence about this machine until I saw your video. Like you I have ton of dewalt tools and these batteries will come in handy instead sitting there and only being use for 1 season.
You're smart!
Im planning to get this, and keep my gas blower as backup. I also have the mower which is ok, not the best but does the job.
I have been waiting for a dewalt snow blower for too long. I have all dewalt hand tools and outdoor tools, simply because I only have to deal with one type of battery.
However, I ended up getting the toro e26 last year and I am so glad I didn’t wait for this weak thing to come out. Maybe dewalt will come out with a 2 stage…hopefully. And hopefully the 2 stage will be built with more power.
It’s just so disappointing seeing that dewalt is now “prosumer”, and they are really late to the game with a snow blower. Can’t pull an Apple excuse about getting things better than the rest of the market by being patient. There are plenty of other electric snow blowers which are better.
I remember when dewalt represented contractor grade. This is absolutely not a contractor grade piece of equipment. Pepperidge farms remembers.
How many times did you have to recharge the batteries to get through your driveway?
Get the 60V leaf blower. It's a game changer. It has way more power than the 20V one.
Call my wife for me and tell her that I need another leaf blower! LOLOLOLOL
@@RinkVideo just grab it and then say you've had it for months.
@@OkanaganLife change your handle to OkanaganGenius now. She wont notice the difference!
Does it work well for snow though? Been debating it for a few years.
@@OkanaganLifeyes!
I bought the skil one from Lowes. May return it because I haven’t opened the box yet.
Some snow conditions will plug any snow blower. Something that helps a bit is to spray the chute and auger area with a liberal amount of vegetable spray - harder for it to stick…
Yeah a few people mentioned that so I’m definitely going to try it! Thanks Lance.
Looks like newer models have Two-way electric chute rotation via paddles
Imagine a foot of wet snow😳
I have a 1995 mtd yard machines 5hp 2 stage snowblower for $100 on market place. I have been using it for 5 years
Can dewalt put a switch on the headlights? I just got a new one, and the headlights are on. You can't turn them off, not good for something you pay near $1500.00 for and no chute pick to clear the chute when the snow clogs it up that a safety concerned for me
I think i will like the Dewalt snowblower because i am 68 years old. My big gas snowblower is too heavy for me now .
Hey you've got the same 1st gen lawnmower... I wish I got the later versions, but it does well enough and I have the batteries and hate maintaining gas motors! Happy to see dewalt get into the snow space...
I love that lawnmower! It got awful reviews but I think it works great. The blade is garbage but otherwise it’s so simple that it seems like it will last a lifetime.
The cost of the 2 batteries are high which has to be factored into the cost. Slush is hard to move and you're not going to throw a lot of snow unless you have 8"+. I have a inexpensive snow joe? We haven't had much snow in the past 3yrs. But I have similar experiences.
Im here waiting on mine to be delivered at the shop....with reservations....😅😮😢😊
Good stuff brother! Is that the C70 you shot either in this one?
Looks great!
Your exposure looks superb man how do you lock it down with just yourself?
So u have nothing but ryobi but their reviews cor the snowblower isnt good. The dewalt had really good reviews. So i will be purchasing even though i love my tools to match
Thank you for the information
I wonder if you ceramic coated the inside before use if that will help with plugging
Either wax or ceramic coat the chute before using. If not, spray it down with WD-40 or Pam.
thanks for the review
You’re very welcome AW. Thanks for commenting ✌️
I always use car wax on the chute and auger area. I have the EGO version. Basically the same thing, 40ft throw. It will throw 40ft with a 30mph cross wind 😂
LOLOLOL. I'm def doing this car wax trick.
Yup car wax or Pam kitchen pan spray.
Just curious, what would you want to see in wheels? A lot of other brands have plastic wheels for electric single stage machines. Theyre also similar to the ones on their mowers.
Rubber with air would be ideal. Or neoprene like a big rollerblade wheel. That said, my mower wheels have stood the test of time but obviously I don’t use it in the winter.
Ughhh.... snow already. You're gonna have to re-do with >6" or more.
What is ASHphalt??
Cheeky Tracy96, it’s Canadian 😂
Do you have to push it? I thought it would drive on its own
Definitely is not self propelled
@@RinkVideo huge minus, thanx for the reply
@@dzierzegaare there any self propelled single stage?
Never seen a self propelled single stage
Also take the battery out.
You should of gotten a two stage mower! You have a big driveway! Stage 1 snowblowers are useless when you get 10 inches and above! Dewalt doesn’t make good equipment like that! Just tools!
Trust me I kicked around the idea of it for awhile! I considered a 2-stage Honda with tracks. Ultimately the decision was based off of weight (size), maintenance, and something more kid-friendly to operate. If we get ten inches I’ll have to send the boy outside mid-storm 😜
DeWalt don't make a 2 stage anyway lol
Not enough snow i think
100 percent.
Works great in an inch of snow.
LOL...It was a very heavy inch! I suspect it will chew through 4-6 inches of lighter snow no problem.
I do get how dewalt can make great hand tools, but shitty outdoor tools.
I have watched a lot of videos of battery snowblowers and would not own one. Would not even consider a single stage for that matter.
Please don’t put your hand in the shoot to clear the snow…. I’ve heard of horror stories, just use a stick to clear it next time.
I’m definitely debating spending the $1000 on dewalt vs buying a heavy duty gas snow blower. I’m obsessed with dewalt but this might be going to far.
VERY good point!!! I need my fingers.
I’ll stick to my shovel
Junk
"Throws a little better"??? There's not enough snow to throw 40'! Honest reviews need to know what you're doing bud!!
@@pdiddy823 thanks for enlightening me and thanks for the insult. I’m sorry that I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to making review videos for you. I’ll try to be better but I’m just not as smart as you.
