I'm into the 80v platform, even got the 2 stage snow blower, it's a beast! The chainsaw is great too, I don't see a need for a gas one and I have a wood stove.
Nate totally agree on 80v vs 40v as you proved with the snow blowers. My experience is with battery operated lawnmowers. The 80v comes close to gas powered in mulching and cut. The 40v models bog down in high grass and don't proved a clean mulching cut as do the 80v models. I have the 80v line of Lowes Kobalt models, including the mower, leaf blower and edger which are made in the Green works factories. Wouldn't go back to gas after using these 80v products. Thanks Anthony! I mow about 3 acres of grass so i havent been convinced the battery ones will handle that yet. Maybe the commercial ones will but they are really pricey. I'm keeping an eye on it, I would love all my "on property" tools and vehicles to be electric.
I wish they made an 80 volt two stage like so many other companies make. We've had out 80 thrower for over 5 years and still seems to work OK. Heavy wet snow and really deep snow is the downfall, taking half a cut helps it work better.

I bought mine in Jan 2023, ordered it online it was on sale (2k$ CAD with the 3 4Ah battery), delivered in a giant metal and wood box, really nice packaging. I have no regret, it is an absolute monster, I really love it. It is much more manoeuvrable then a gas powered 2 stage, because it weight much less, I can pull on it to reverse without the need to go in reverse gear, can rotate it really easily. The only issue is because of reduced weight, it have less traction when going through very hard pack snow, but I almost never have to, and I have a trick, I put it max speed, I just back up a little and let it ram in the pack snow :D
Does this work with a 4 Ah battery? I have a 4 Ah and a 2 Ah battery from my other Greenworks tools, I'm wondering if the 4 Ah will fit since its a larger battery.

If you get a big snow fall of 8''-12'' can the machine clear it if you take a 1/2 cut instead of the full width of the blower? Thanks
A 2ah 80v battery has double the power of a 2ah 40v battery. Volts * Amps = Power (watts), so if you simply double the voltage, you have double the available power. You need a 4ah 40v battery to have the same capacity. Granted it all depends on what the motor does, but allows it to draw a smaller amperage from the higher voltage to get the same power...or use the same amperage and have "double" the power. Depending on what it does, will affect the actual runtime.
Ah is a measure of capacity, not amps/current as you are treating it. Ah x volts is Wh which is energy. So 40v 2Ah and 80v 2Ah has the same capacity but the 80v one has twice the energy.

When they make self-propelled Battery powered Snow blowers that can cut through 3ft+, Then I may look into one. Otherwise I'll stick with my 35 y o Craftsman 8.5 hp that's never let me down. One snow storm we had, I use mine for 10 hours straight without a hick up only to stop too refill the tank and it was cutting through 5 ft drifts.

I've had the 40v on clear 10" of wet snow but you have to go slower. 80v hasnt seen that yet but will soon.

You might make it with a 5ah battery but I would plan two 4ah for that size drive way. You can clear partial machine width if needed.

It won't necessarily. It has more energy (Wh) but they also tend to use more power so run time will vary based on that not just the voltage.
