It's safer in numbers, the AB needed some form of ideology to bind them together, they were wise to do what they did, given the circumstances they found themsleves in, it's not very smart refusing to go with your own when you're surrounded by enemy tribes. Meanwhile, the rest of the world still views it with a binary "us and them" mentality.
Make no mistake, outside the "west" (meaning Europe, U.S/Can, NZ/Aus), in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, racism and ethnic solidarity and group preference has never been stronger and they see us as weak, divided, hopelessly lost, and defeated.

Must have been the theme song from season 1 that did it (The song was sung by someone different each season but I'm not sure if they used the same person/version for the first 2 seasons), the versions used for the other seasons weren't as good.

This guy explained racism in gangs outstandingly. What's the point of killing any black man, if another black guy killed a white guy? Why wouldn't the same be applied if for example, a woman killed a man? Does that mean a woman must be killed for revenge? Or if the killer was from Florida, would they killing anyone from Florida count as revenge? The gangs logic makes no sense! If you got a problem with someone, you got a problem with them.
