Definitely better in those 2 aspects than the 6.4 Hemi. If you wanna lead foot it a lot keep the V8. If you wanna hardcore off road the diesel would be sweet.
The 3.0L EcoDiesel is a great idea. The early 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel in the Dodges only made 460 lb-ft of torque and like 160 hp. I'm not sure of the weight difference in the trucks though. Another option would be the 5.0L Cummins V8 the Nissan put in the Titan XD. Shorter block than the I-6 6.7L so maybe they would be able to shift the radiator/AC condenser/intercooler back and still fit in the winch.

The 6.4 from the challenger/charger will overheat, inefficient when towing and will struggle to put max payload on the truck. There’s a reason why ram modified the 6.4 HD for the ram 2500 so it can handle Heavy Duty work.

Put 60k miles on it, never had a problem and it performed better than any other truck I've had, and I've had them all. I spend a lot of money on real off road capable trucks for the work I do. I've had the raptor, the pro x 4 Titan, Chevy, Tundra, and have a fleet of Jeep wranglers. The power wagon is awesome in every way. From sound system to stable canyon driving, to serious off-road, and the winch is a beast. Plus, I can store all my tools, tow chains, and gear in the ram boxes
I had hoped that the PowerWagon would get some of the HD truck payload and towing back with the release of the RAM TRX. I guess my hope was misplaced. This is a parking lot trophy for upper management and the executives that want to portray themselves as working class (i.e. a man of the people). I guess I'll be buying a Nissan Titan XD Pro4x or a GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 when the time comes for me to replace my Tundra.
What's amazing and mind-boggling at the same time is that they can put a 392 in a Jeep Wrangler but not a Power Wagon? That would put the "Power" back in Power Wagon.
Uhhh, wrong. The 392 is 6.4 liters but they are not the same motor. They are based off of the same platform but that's the where the similarities end. The 6.4 is specifically only available in 2500 & 3500 Rams. It is a truck motor based off of the 392 SRT motor that 1st came out in 2011. The 6.4L came out in 2014 and has completely different specs than the 392 (410 hp vs 485 hp to start with). That's why they are designated differently even though they are the same block, bore and stroke.
Ram has built the TRX to compete with the Raptor. Ford built the Tremor to compete with the Power Wagon but you can get the Tremor in the F-350, F-250, F-150, and even in the Ranger. Will Ram build a 1500 Power Wagon? Maybe offer it in a diesel engine?
This is an awesome truck but I think it is WAY to heavy for off-roading!! Gotta have the winch... but honestly, who’s gonna take a $70k truck to do some serious off-roading?! 🤔🤔
This may be two months too late, but the center console thing on the Power Wagon is specific to this edition. As you know-and hence the question-stock Power Wagons have the 40/20/40 bucket seat and 4WD transfer case shifter. The 75th anniversary gets electronic transfer case and the center console. I think it’s a great combo.
Yea The 75th Gets you some of the interior from the Longhorn. I don't get why they don't just make it standard on the PW like it is on the Rebel, no point in holding on to the manual t-case lever if everything else is modern.
You can configure it Anyway you want but when you get down to the lot it won’t be available in the way you configured it so to be ready to except less, not necessarily paying less. Don’t forget to drink lots of Kool-Aid before you leave the house
Adding the Cummins will cut half of its off-road capability due to heavyweight of the Cummins and then ram has to make the suspension stiffer to handle the engine weight which reduces suspension flex.
Ram uses the straight inline 6 for the diesel engine. The inline 6 is too long to fit in their current engine bay. I guess they could always produce a power wagon package like ford did the tremor that could be added to their HD.

I guess I'll be buying a Nissan Titan XD Pro4x or a GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 when the time comes for me to replace my Tundra.
My 91 PW could go anywhere, anytime, but never over 70mph. Full load, empty, uphill, down hill, towing or not, it ran at 70. 😃
What's amazing and mind-boggling at the same time is that they can put a 392 in a Jeep Wrangler but not a Power Wagon? That would put the "Power" back in Power Wagon.
That is literally what it has 🤦♂️. A 6.4 hemi is still the 392. That is the only thing you can get.
Mike is literally ignorant.

A statement like that without a reason why is literally ignorant
The only engine you can get in a power wagon is the 392.
Funny how they didn't upgrade to 35' tires.
It would likely break.......
Is this limited to a certain number?
Can you guys please do a max tow with this truck?
This is an awesome truck but I think it is WAY to heavy for off-roading!! Gotta have the winch... but honestly, who’s gonna take a $70k truck to do some serious off-roading?! 🤔🤔
Really wealthy? But prolly a driveway queen...
I would. Took mine off-road in some sketchy sitautions one week after getting it. What the point of buying it and not use it.
They need to offer this truck with the Cummins Diesel engine.
I really want to meet the people that would buy the Power Wagon who pay cash - then go and beat the crap out of the $100K vehicle driving it off road.
Ok, so what color is this truck ??? thx
When did the Power Wagon become available with the center console?
This may be two months too late, but the center console thing on the Power Wagon is specific to this edition. As you know-and hence the question-stock Power Wagons have the 40/20/40 bucket seat and 4WD transfer case shifter. The 75th anniversary gets electronic transfer case and the center console. I think it’s a great combo.
Yea The 75th Gets you some of the interior from the Longhorn. I don't get why they don't just make it standard on the PW like it is on the Rebel, no point in holding on to the manual t-case lever if everything else is modern.
This truck needs a diesel engine!
Offroad a diesel......... then you will know why
It's to heavy
No cooling seats?
Will that be worth more than a house you buy for the same price 20 years from now?
You can configure it Anyway you want but when you get down to the lot it won’t be available in the way you configured it so to be ready to except less, not necessarily paying less. Don’t forget to drink lots of Kool-Aid before you leave the house
What’s the difference between the Ram Rebel and the Ram TRX?
Double the horsepower and torque and the TRX is high speed off road monster.
I’m still so surprised why the diesel is not available on that truck. do you know why?
Maybe due to the extra weight??????
Adding the Cummins will cut half of its off-road capability due to heavyweight of the Cummins and then ram has to make the suspension stiffer to handle the engine weight which reduces suspension flex.
Ram uses the straight inline 6 for the diesel engine. The inline 6 is too long to fit in their current engine bay.
I guess they could always produce a power wagon package like ford did the tremor that could be added to their HD.
Like they said weight and also they intercooler would get in fhe way of the winch, pushing the whole bumper or winch forward.
Cooling issues is what I heard. Something about the winch interfering with it.
There's plenty of them
Another thing, Why don't they have the functional Tailgate?
