I truly hated the X-E4 when it was first announced. I thought it was too dumbed down and lacked so many things. I ended up buying one last December and (seller issues aside) it has become my absolute favorite Fujifilm camera. With film recipes, I've shot JPEGs almost all the time now. The only thing I wish they did differently is the front dial should've been at the back instead. Otherwise, I love using it so much with a cheapo grip and a DIY finger strap. Fits on my daily carry bag and very nice for photowalks. I can shoot pretty good cafe vlogs with it too.
Although I love the look of the xe4 naked, i only use it with the body grip and thumb rest..regardless of lens size. Very comfortable and I think I does not retract from its beauty. I own two xe4s (one in silver and one in black). I also own a silver x100v. Love them all.
Jump forward to March 2023 how do you feel now. Looking forward to getting a X-E4 when they come back into stock.Thinking about pairing with the new viltrox 75mm f1.2. might look a bit weird but hey, gotta try these things. be lucky stay safe.
The grip is extremely helpful for use with longer lenses. I use it with the 16-80, 55-200 and also the 70-300 which I rented. A half leather case with a grip bump is also generally helpful with the thumb grip.
@@davidwong7234 it is fine with the thumb grip and a half case with a small hand bump. It is not unbalanced with the 16-80. I used it with a flash and the full hand grip at a wedding and when I’m switching between it and a longer lens but for ultimate comfort with the 16-80 then the thumb grip and half case is the way to go. The half cases start at around $14. Some people only use the thumb grip. I would suggest buying in stages and see how it feels. Get the thumb grip as it is useful for all lenses, then the lens and evaluate. Then get the half case or full grip if you feel or need more. The full Fujifilm grip does add weight but I don’t find it intrusive as the longer lenses add their own so they kind of cancel out each other.
Nice video - just wondering did you look into the a7c at all? And paired with the tiny g primes? I’m thinking of adding one for travel/edc. Would compliment your a7iv nicely.
Hey Mark! Ya I did, and I think that's an awesome little camera..it's just personally I enjoy using Fujifilm cameras when travelling :) Just the look, feel and style of them is enough for me to get another system! Plus price, the XE-4 plus both lenses is still under the body price of the A7c haha
Grip is a shabby design considering the clean look of X-E4. JJC made a better design for the grip. with thumbgrip, you will not feel need for the front grip which spoils the look
MY 'perfect' travel camera would be a weather/dust-proofed XE-5. But I doubt Fuji will do it, due to the possibility of cannibalizing X100 series' sales.
The XE4 is an underrated and very useful rig. I've had mine for about a year now.
thanks for the review. i’m a first time user of Fujifilm and i’m loving it. I love my X-E4 ♥️♥️♥️. So gorgeous.

Totally agree Joel! Love to hear that too...I might need to give both grips a chance haha
@@mattyloucas Matty, I forgot to say, "congratulations!" There's no wrong choice. Enjoy!
Frick you’ve really got me wanting a little Fuji
My guy, I think it would be an epic option for you! Especially all the trips you go on :) Light, compact and epic quality - plus some vid too!

Hi there, Im thinking of buying an xe4. Did you find it weird when using the xe4 with the 16-80 lens? Is it balanced? Or does it feel weird?

This is introductory video for X-E4 which was was better seen in 2021. I hope to see your video after you take photographs and explore the camera.
Hey mate great video! How do you think it goes over the x100v?
i love the x-e4 but i hate that its not WR.
I'm planning on getting a fuji camera by next year!
So exciting! Would recommend this one :)
I ordered my xe4 two months ago here in Paris. Still waiting but should have it soon! The X100V just doesn't do it for me. Ca,n't wait!
I love this camera myself as well! Can’t wait to see what you create with it!👏🏼✨
So sick to hear! Thanks bud!

”Upgrade” from x100f to x-e4 ??? 😎

"I picked this up yesterday." Why does your title say "The PERFECT Travel Camera..."
I need GPS for my travel camera.
