Man, I also strongly believe Gman let himself be captured on purpose to lure Alyx. It makes much more sense than the combine just catching him off guard.
I don't think he was ever really 'captured' as such. Imagine placing the Hulk in a cardboard box and coming back two days later to find he's still there. He's obviously there by choice, nothing's stopping him.

The fact of the matter is that for now at least we just don't know. We don't even know whether his goals are shady or noble. It could be that he masterminded the fall of the Combine or it could be that he actually works for the Combine and his manipulation of Gordon is meant to give the Combine something to challenge themselves against or something like that. What it all boils down to is that there's more questions than there are answers about the G-Man, including whether that's even actually what he's called considering the nickname in question comes from GMod. For all we know we've been calling him the G-Man all these years only for him to actually have a proper name or some other codename alias. Pretty much everything about the guy is a mystery in and of itself.
Valve would never make Half life 2 episode 3 because which one sounds better “half life 3” or “half life 2 episode 3 the fourth part to the second part of the epic adventures of Gordon freeman” its quite obvious which one is going to make them more money.
Yeah that’s my fear as well. Half-Life 3 is just 1000x cooler than Half-Life 2: Episode Three. Which is why I mentioned that they may just do „Half-Life: Whitesands“ or something to have a nice title and also stay true to the idea of Marc Laidlaw
What if HLX is a prequel to Half Life 1? You play as one of the first explorers of Xen, one of the many corpses that Gordon sees there in HL1. They have HEV suits, plus you’d be facing Xen enemies almost exclusively, so it seems to fit. I don’t really think this will be it, but it’s an interesting possibility.
Would be an interesting idea. If not for the fact that the manhacks and combine soldier ai is referenced in the code files. As well as the gravity gun.
i still think it's half-life 3. it may not be CALLED half-life 3, but it'll take place after episode 2. the gordon freeman icon found in deadlock makes me convinced of that. first of all, i'm pretty convinced that you play as gordon freeman in HLX. yes, colette & gina also have an hev suit, however i cannot see them having a gravity gun (the gravity gun is part of the leaks, they reworked parts of its code and fairly recently moved it out of the source 2 fgd to put it into the hlx fgd). the gravity gun is definitely a black mesa east exclusive thing, and i cant see a story explanation for a random girl in xen from black mesa to have a gravity gun. now, as i stated before, a gordon freeman splash icon exists and it was found in deadlocks files (Deadlock\game\core\tools\images\buildwatch\build_break_master.png)
True, the gravity gun is a strong point, one that could only be countered if we assume it was only moved for testing. I didn’t know those exact details, that truly does strengthens the Freeman protagonist theory!
I bet valve has pretty much leaned into the joke of never counting to three, so its a very likely scenario they'll name it anything other than "Half Life 3"
There were also codes about offworld (supposedly the combine overworld, which overwatch threatens citizens and soldiers to send) and the gravity gun. It would be cool to see Gordon wreak havoc in the combine overworld if it's really Half Life 3
My money is on 'the sequel'/ Half-Life 3, the ending of Alyx just feels like a tease for what comes after, specially since they had us looking through the eyes of Freeman once more. And i'm not really aware of any rule that says a 'final game' wouldn't feature Xen (or a Xen-like place), or that even HL3 would be that 'final game' (which i don't have an issue if it is, it's fine to let things end, as long as they end well); also Valve abandonded the episodic format in 2011 iirc, but they could always go back on their word i suppose.
the speculation around this is honestly probably 100x cooler than whatever we're going to get... or maybe not references to xen & new mexico, classic monsters, and tyler pointing out it could be some sort of asynchronous co-op makes a decay reboot exciting. what would a return to black mesa look like in the modern valve era? would they take inspiration from crowbar collective? or it's just Half-Life 3. win/win I suppose.
I personally don't mind if it is a sequel do HL:Alyx, as long as it is more Half-Life. I don't see a scenario which all the mysteries are solved, as it would take away all the things that makes this story interesting.
In my opinion HLX stands for Half-Life: Xen, Project Whitesands is a reference to black mesa so I wouldn't be suprised if HLX would be some sort of source 2 game focusing around the Half-Life 1 timeline or if it were just some vr exploring game.
Why would they use a codename that has obvious references to HL? None of the other codenames had anything to do with the game they were covering. Stop that cope.
@@lennysmileyface Actually, sometimes they do. Half-Life:Alyx had codename "Jamiroquai" and you know what's his most popular song is? "Virtual Insanity"
@@1lucia Thanks, thats some pretty high compliments! Believe me I have tried many times to make my own EP3 mods but always fail... Maybe one day I will make an extended version of it
I would like to get a final game about Gordon's part of the story (you know, Borealis and other shit) because we might get teleported back to Xen by teleporting device on Borealis, and then move on with Alyx's story before Gordon's arrival at C17. Green's story is very unlikely to be continued in my opinion.
Unlikely is very fair to say, but I guess any random HEV wearing person could be coming. After all, Barney Calhoun was named that way in HL2 because of Blue Shift, so them taking characters from gearbox games is something we have seen before! :P
@@1lucia That's also true. Who knows... Maybe we'll get a big comeback of Corporal Adrian Shepard? 🤔 We'll see. And the big question is "WHEN?". I think that we might get a big suprise in 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2, just like Valve suprised us in 25th anniversary of the firs HL game. Time will tell, and we know that Valve still makes WAY better Singleplayer games rather than multiplayer ones (yes, i'm talking about this dogshit called Counter-Strike 2).
If it’s a Xen game we should 100% play as Gina Cross, She wears the HEV Suit so it would make sense and we see her in Xen in Opposing Force…………Dead, It could be a really cool game that ends in seeing her death and maybe we see something with G-Man but who knows, Maybe we would have the first Half Life game with Zero G-Man appearances (Don’t remember if he’s in Blue Shift or Decay but then we’ll just go with “Made by Valve”) Or a Collette Green game (Like you mentioned) That would be awesome, You both (Gina and Collette) go to Xen doing…….something but then Gina dies fairly early in the game, Then Collette can’t get back to earth (How they got there in the first place idk) and she becomes more negative and more older, Maybe this could lead to her being the mystery Scientist but who knows maybe she could just join the resistance
I don't think Valve would completely end Half Life. I believe it would wrap up some stuff and make it feel like a final game, but still leave some stuff open for a sequel in the future but not feel like it has no real conclusion like episode 2 did.
Finally, a more reasonable opinion. With how prevalent Xen is, my personal theory is that it's a prequel to HL1, focused on exploring Xen before the Resonance Cascade. Also, HLX was used as a codename for the episodes in the past, so it's really just a shorthand for whatever they're doing with HL. This muddies things a bit, as what we could be seeing is a collection of experiments being actively worked on, or perhaps multiple games like Tyler speculated.
5:37 Tbh I'd have to wonder if it'll take place from the POV of Adrian Shepard, or even be another prequel, where it shows us what the scientists were up to... OR, just be the aforementioned, but during the events of half life 2 of course.
Literally came here to comment how cool it would be to see a game that wraps up Adrian's story, also full confirming Opposing Force's canon, since it's technically still a little up in the air
I like your model. If they release the 3rd episode. And this will be the lead-up to the main final part of Half Life 3. Or they can call it not the 3rd episode, but "White Sands". Where the story will continue around Borealis. And there will be some crazy ending that will definitely confirm the sequel. The final, main part of Half Life 3. BUT it would also be interesting for me to see Adrian Shepard again. Valve seems to have completely forgotten about this character. But actually, one day they were planning an episode with a return to Ravenholm. Where we would play for Adrian. What if, after the release of White Sands, the story of Borealis unfolds completely unexpectedly and another episodic game appears in which the forgotten Adrian Shepard returns? and they will tell us his story. What if he needs G-man again to confront Freeman and Eli? After all, in the finale of "Alyx," Eli bluntly said he would kill G-Man. That would be a crazy move. Because Adrian had never met Freeman and Eli and considered them his enemies after the incident in Black Mesa. OR he will appear in Half Life 3, but they will not dedicate a separate episode to him.
i was thinking i would never witness continuation of this story :D (if hlx is anothe prequel or game-presentation of some technology they created im gonna cry)
Valve should release something disappointing before an actual half life 3 to derail the hype train that has been gaining momentum since half life 2 episode 2. Another spin off title would be great for that.
6:01 "You can play 2D games in VR" means that you can play 2D games in VR. I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by "Who knows what that could mean", it's pretty self explanatory if you ask me. 😭😭
It’s not that clear. Sure, you can play 2D games in VR, that’s what that means, but it remains to be seen in what capacity. Are you actually inside of the game in VR, is it more like a half 2D half 3D thing or is it just a 2d screen floating in front of you in VR. That’s just what I meant by „who knows what that could means?“ :P
@@1lucia Quest 2 kinda has that feature, and its similar to yknow playing games on a big home screen in front of you, its literally just like a virtual space to play games normally. (ofc i could be wrong)
@@1lucia Yes, All it does it create a virtual screen. That's not a new feature, if you start a non-VR game while in VR, Steam will create a cinema like screen that lets you play the game.
HLX is definitely not meant for the deckerd, as it has become pretty apparent that it is a normal flatscreen game. Also, I'm pretty confident that it is Half-Life 3, though I could see them not calling it that, even if that's what it is in story and spirit. Also Valve has pretty clearly said that they're not going back to the episodic model. I would have been fine personally if they just remastered the episodes in source 2, and then gave us an Episode 3 as part of a Half-Life 2 Episode Pack, and then went on to do something wildly different with Half-Life 3, but that ain't happening if we're being real. That said, I'm sure Half-Life 3 won't be everything we've expected over the last 17 years. I'm sure we'll still head to the arctic to find the Borealis, but now we'll be doing it with Eli and have another goal of getting Alyx back from the Gman. And who knows what other crazy shenanigans they'll throw at us, considering we're definitely going back to Xen.
it's never gonna be called half life 2 : episode something. they said so themselves it would most likely be like alyx which would be "half-life : something" if its not gonna be a half-life 3
I won't lie, this is all quite scary and quite exciting. Thanks for making a video on it, its good to have all the new stuff in one place until we (hopefully) get news soon
Nice video.. very interesting ideas! ***Contains spoilers for HL:A*** My personal view is that the next Half Life will be something that will get majority of players (who didn't play the VR) up to date with story progression by HL:A (so basically pc players who haven't played it still). So how i see it, Valve will continue with Epistle 3 written by Laidlaw with some changes ofc which will serve as direct sequel to Episode 2 but it will tie back to HL:A ending hence getting every HL fan on same page and preparing everyone for next HL game, be it HL4 or Ep4.. Here's how I imagine it.. it will have Gordon, Alyx going to borealis (continuing Ep 2) and with it jumping through dimensions and Xen, we will reach the end where G-man will appear and give a chance to Alyx to save her father in the PAST, and then take her away. So it will mean that Alyx was always supposed to be taken away by G-man in grand scheme of things/and timeline principles but because it's him, he nudged the time and did it earlier in HL:A. So basically we will be back to Gordon and Eli having to go to Borealis, which is the ending of HL:A again. With this, they can not only get everyone on same page but also prepare for far bigger game in future where they can show not only Gordon and Eli going to Borealis but also what happens after that with saving Alyx from G-man and so on. It will keep story open, and Valve wont have the burden to finish the story.. and honestly it sounds like a Valve thing to do 😂
what i HOPE happens is kinda a mix of everything (mostly bc i made the idea), to sum it up and not make an overly long comment, they should have it pick up from when eli should have died, but in return, alyx is put in stasis and because of the vortigaunt powers, she needs to be saved. From here, one of the nerds think of a way they could get through to find her and thats by finding the borealis, but first they need to go through city 15, probably finding cremators or something, and managing to find the borealis, but its been taken over by the combine. the player gets inside by killing a shit ton of combine and steal the borealis, using the technology on it to teleport to xen and thats what I HOPE they do with the X part of HLX, idk where else it would go from there but thats kinda just my idea
my only problem with a HL2 EP3 is that the jump in Graphics and quality (among other things) would be insaneeee so i would imagine that they wont make an EP3 but rather choose to do seprate plots or just HL3
i would LOVE a Colette Green game . hopefully this is what Xen is, theres plenty of potential for cool story and gameplay in this scenario and it doesnt need to be so limited to HL2's story it can really go anywhere it wants cuz she is in an entirely different dimension. maybe she then goes to the Vortigaunt's homeworld?
"Project Whitesands" is definitely interesting from the perspective of somebody playing Black Mesa's The Pizza Is A Lie ARG, because White Sands Missile Base was mentioned at one point early in the storyline...
@@ava_ava_ava_ava_ava xen was originally involved in episode 3 (when it was still in development), so its pretty clear valve wants it to return for some final blow. the combine isnt the only threat you know, maybe a plot point in HLX is trying to get the dimensional rift from xen to earth to fully close, giving humanity a bigger chance at getting back their earth
Hear me out. HLX is Half Life: Xen you play as Collate Green stuck in Xen and tries to escape but in the end she finds Adrian Shepard, they both exit Xen (with the help of the vortigaunts) at the end of half life alyx's ending. Here you set up another cliffhanger for hl3/ep3, build both characters more and learn more about the Vortigaunts/Xen and tie multiple loose ends. I could go an extra mile and say both characters are playable one in vr and one in pc aligning the leaks with the game.
i was also thinking about the half life xen theory and that you may be playing as half life decay protagonist or maybe just maybe it could be a sequel to half life 2 episode 2 (retconned version) taking into consideration that Eli says at the end of HL:A that '' We've got work to do'' maybe somehow welding some action around xen where gordon gets sent by eli and kleiner into xen to find the source of Gman's teleportation powers and eliminate it, alongside with bringing alyx from there (maybe gman places the stasis subjects into a hidden place in xen -> he mentions at the end of half life 1 that '' The border world, Xen, is in our control for the TIME BEING maybe reffering that in the future gordon alongside eli and the vorts will take it in control in order to set Alyx free from gman's hands and only after all this they come back to go to the borealis, or maybe they somehow use the borealis with the help of Judith to get extracted from Xen after releasing Alyx and destroying Gman's source of power) I JUST COOKED
No matter which scenario is true, if there won't be more Barney in this game, I will riot. But here's my tier list of scenarios by how much I like whem anyway: 1. Episode 4 scenario. More story progression, and we don't end anything. 2. Prequel scenario. More lore clarification is always good. 3. Deckard prototype scenario. This low only because the game will likely require new hardware I can't physically afford/buy. 4. Episode 3 scenario. Idk after so many years to just drop the finale to the hl2 era feels wrong. 5. Half-life 3 scenario. This one just all around sucks, all this wait and buildup to just drop the end and never do anything to do with this world again is a crime.
Bro I'm so impressed with how much detail and theories you come up with. Your efforts are amazing, and I'll be happy to say that I watched till the end :) Also all I wish for Half Life X is to be a sequel to episode 2, and introducing more Xen wild life? Or maybe just a few new enemies. Borealis of course. Maybe we get to see more links in between half life and portal

I would be happy with any half life game they release, but I think the most likely one is a game in VR shipped alongside the Deckard, like Half Life Alyx. We already know that the Deckard is being worked on and it is going to come with a new game. It makes the most sense that HLX is that game, as we saw HLVR leak before the Index got lanched, and it's already hard to belive that Valve is working on a Half Life game, 2 half life games just seems impossible. Yap session over.
I feel like we're getting close to some kind of announcement for a new Half Life game. HL2 is approaching its 20th anniversary and a test branch for it was created recently, so we'll possibly get an anniversary update for HL2 alongside an announcement, I hope. Alyx was announced just before HL1's 21st anniversary and we're getting close to November now
If we get more platform exclusive content I’m going to be pissed. I have a vr headset. I have a laptop that can run half life games. But I can’t play half life Alyx. And I’m so invested at this point that I’m saving up for an actual pc. I hope they continue with that idea of letting the next generation write the next era of half life, I always thought that sounded awesome.
I beleive id like a prequel, or many prequels instead of 1 final game. I love the franchise and 1 game isnt near enough time to wrap up all the mysteries, and write a ending.
considering how much of the leaks have to do with open world systems, god i hope hlx isnt hl3 if its gonna be open world. id take a linear story campaign hl3 over an open world hl3 any day of the week
I could definitely see the possibility of another hl:d game being possible, only because it seems like something they’d like to come back on. I mean they did just have the 25 year anniversary for HL1. I still find it strange that they wouldn’t also be working on hl2:ep3/hl3 because somebody took the time to render the ending and script the ending of ep3 in the new engine. I think if we see an anniversary update for hl2 and the episodes we are for sure going to see the next episode.
can we just move the story of opposing force as well please they said " his story will prevail as long as gordons does " but my boi adrian still aint got no devolpment
I'm gonna go with your second theory. It would be nice having one last game before HL3 focusing on the history of the Combine occupation, and be the final piece before HL3. Collette Green ain't likely, since she's a Gearbox character, but I really wanna see Barney appear.
A few things I wanted to point out here. It was known though leaks years ago that episode 3 and the half life 3 build of the early 2010s was going to go into Xen. So Xen being apart of HLX could be valve still going down that route. I remember it being mentioned a lot in Tylers old Videos Also as much as I enjoy getting new half life games that 13 year gap kinda traumatized a lot of the community. Most people wouldn't mind HLX being the last half life game if that meant we got some kind of definitive ending before most of us die of old age or valve goes on another decade long half life burn out that leaves us not getting another follow up to the story until the late 2040s.

what if green is that unknown scientist?! that's my thoughts!
Damn I missed this but I agree
hmmmmmm
That's the only way they would revisit Decay in any way
@@naturesquad9174 aye but also valve don’t tend to think other dev stuff is canon except for the expansion that never got released so maybe they do?
What if HLX is a prequel to Half Life 1? You play as one of the first explorers of Xen, one of the many corpses that Gordon sees there in HL1. They have HEV suits, plus you’d be facing Xen enemies almost exclusively, so it seems to fit.
I don’t really think this will be it, but it’s an interesting possibility.
I like this idea.
Would be an interesting idea. If not for the fact that the manhacks and combine soldier ai is referenced in the code files. As well as the gravity gun.
would be dumb. We dont need a prequel before HL1.
i still think it's half-life 3. it may not be CALLED half-life 3, but it'll take place after episode 2. the gordon freeman icon found in deadlock makes me convinced of that.
first of all, i'm pretty convinced that you play as gordon freeman in HLX. yes, colette & gina also have an hev suit, however i cannot see them having a gravity gun (the gravity gun is part of the leaks, they reworked parts of its code and fairly recently moved it out of the source 2 fgd to put it into the hlx fgd). the gravity gun is definitely a black mesa east exclusive thing, and i cant see a story explanation for a random girl in xen from black mesa to have a gravity gun.
now, as i stated before, a gordon freeman splash icon exists and it was found in deadlocks files (Deadlock\game\core\tools\images\buildwatch\build_break_master.png)
True, the gravity gun is a strong point, one that could only be countered if we assume it was only moved for testing. I didn’t know those exact details, that truly does strengthens the Freeman protagonist theory!
I bet valve has pretty much leaned into the joke of never counting to three, so its a very likely scenario they'll name it anything other than "Half Life 3"
Where can I find this photo?
it would be a marketing blunder to call it anything other than half life 3 if it continues the story
@@redbepis4600 half life alyx also continues the story and isnt called half life 3
Honestly I dont care
More half life games is good
There were also codes about offworld (supposedly the combine overworld, which overwatch threatens citizens and soldiers to send) and the gravity gun.
If you’re wrong, change your channel name to “Hunt Down The Freeman Fan”
Yes
I could name a 100 villains and they wouldnt be very villain as you
If white sands = snow
Snow is where borealis is
Borealis has portal/teleporting stuff
Borealis could teleporting you to zen or teleport Zen creatures
Half Life 3 confirmed
the speculation around this is honestly probably 100x cooler than whatever we're going to get... or maybe not
references to xen & new mexico, classic monsters, and tyler pointing out it could be some sort of asynchronous co-op makes a decay reboot exciting.
what would a return to black mesa look like in the modern valve era? would they take inspiration from crowbar collective?
or it's just Half-Life 3. win/win I suppose.
Bro please don't let us down but I still love you
“Its like the first days all over again”
I personally don't mind if it is a sequel do HL:Alyx, as long as it is more Half-Life. I don't see a scenario which all the mysteries are solved, as it would take away all the things that makes this story interesting.
If HLX doesn’t have realtime eyeglasses maintenance I’m just not playing it
(Great vid ;))
@@lennysmileyface HLX = halflifexen. It could just be a shortcut for that.
it's crazy how the community has been lately since this was leaked. glad you covered it
Didn't expect to see my map Trek To Borealis in the video while watching, thanks for featuring it!
To this day it remains one of the best pieces of actual Epistle 3 content we have! Thank you for making it! :D
@@1lucia Thanks, thats some pretty high compliments! Believe me I have tried many times to make my own EP3 mods but always fail... Maybe one day I will make an extended version of it
People when something related to hl happens (it must be a leak for half life 3?!?!)
Valve trying to make a third game to a series (impossible)
When i hear "asynchronous gaming", i hear Wii U and immediately have a PTSD stroke.
I just wanna go on the damn boat man :(
there is entropy : zero 2 if you want to see the damn boat but it's a mod (a very well made mod)
If only Kitty_07 saw these leaks... He'd meme it so hard.
R.I.P.
finally someone adressed this i fell like people are just saying "half life 3" because they are lazy and want veiws.
If gina cross is confirmed dead, then why does richard keller say "collette? Gina? We've made it We've won!" in hl decay?
He can be speaking to himself.
Maybe she found a way back in after
@@Nod_Les he was clearly talking to the girls
@@Nod_Lesbro no
It’s possible she somehow traveled back to Xen and died, but I think it’s more likely an oversight on the devs part.
15:34 - So much different scenarios, I forgot what I was thinking...
i was thinking i would never witness continuation of this story :D (if hlx is anothe prequel or game-presentation of some technology they created im gonna cry)
Valve should release something disappointing before an actual half life 3 to derail the hype train that has been gaining momentum since half life 2 episode 2. Another spin off title would be great for that.
My pet homing pigeon works at Valve HQ and told me this is actually a remake of Full Life Consequences
Cpl Shepherd deserves better.
And who knows what other crazy shenanigans they'll throw at us, considering we're definitely going back to Xen.
it's never gonna be called half life 2 : episode something. they said so themselves
it would most likely be like alyx which would be "half-life : something" if its not gonna be a half-life 3
They're only doing that to keep with the "valve can't say 3" joke
I won't lie, this is all quite scary and quite exciting. Thanks for making a video on it, its good to have all the new stuff in one place until we (hopefully) get news soon
Nice video.. very interesting ideas!
***Contains spoilers for HL:A***
My personal view is that the next Half Life will be something that will get majority of players (who didn't play the VR) up to date with story progression by HL:A (so basically pc players who haven't played it still).
It will keep story open, and Valve wont have the burden to finish the story.. and honestly it sounds like a Valve thing to do 😂
real time moss supremacy gang rise up
what i HOPE happens is kinda a mix of everything (mostly bc i made the idea), to sum it up and not make an overly long comment, they should have it pick up from when eli should have died, but in return, alyx is put in stasis and because of the vortigaunt powers, she needs to be saved. From here, one of the nerds think of a way they could get through to find her and thats by finding the borealis, but first they need to go through city 15, probably finding cremators or something, and managing to find the borealis, but its been taken over by the combine. the player gets inside by killing a shit ton of combine and steal the borealis, using the technology on it to teleport to xen and thats what I HOPE they do with the X part of HLX, idk where else it would go from there but thats kinda just my idea
thank you for warning about alyx spoilers! i havent played it yet since i'm too poor for vr lmao
Hope you get to play it soon!
my only problem with a HL2 EP3 is that the jump in Graphics and quality (among other things) would be insaneeee so i would imagine that they wont make an EP3 but rather choose to do seprate plots or just HL3
Yeah which is why at this point it should just be half life 3
I thought it could be Colette too, but the code includes a gravity gun.... :(
i would LOVE a Colette Green game . hopefully this is what Xen is, theres plenty of potential for cool story and gameplay in this scenario and it doesnt need to be so limited to HL2's story it can really go anywhere it wants cuz she is in an entirely different dimension. maybe she then goes to the Vortigaunt's homeworld?
"Project Whitesands" is definitely interesting from the perspective of somebody playing Black Mesa's The Pizza Is A Lie ARG, because White Sands Missile Base was mentioned at one point early in the storyline...
people go too far with this mention
a white sand is snow
my brain hurts after watching this
gotta watch it again to heal the hurty brain
HLX has been in development for way too long for it to be just a short tech demo
If its not hl3 im gonna be pissed
"And that's okay"
How? It's been 17 years since HL2 E2. 4 years since Alyx which was VR only.
i just hope that after all this time they give us at least a sequal to half life 2 episode 2 after so many damn years
As long as we're getting more Half-Life games and lore, I'm happy
After many years ive written in my head a fan fiction conclusion to the series which is much better than what lazy valve can accomplish imho
This is by far the most realistic approach with regards to the "HLX" topic. Great vid!
Lazlo coming back from the npc_kill sequence to look at this
1:52 half life alyx ends in half life 3. A sequel would be half life 3
but how would xen be involved in HL3?
I wouldn’t be disappointed if it was the final half life game and was Half Life 3 because it is better than spending 20 years without a sequel
Waiting patience, to see what they revealing in next two
month .
i was also thinking about the half life xen theory and that you may be playing as half life decay protagonist or maybe just maybe it could be a sequel to half life 2 episode 2 (retconned version) taking into consideration that Eli says at the end of HL:A that '' We've got work to do'' maybe somehow welding some action around xen where gordon gets sent by eli and kleiner into xen to find the source of Gman's teleportation powers and eliminate it, alongside with bringing alyx from there (maybe gman places the stasis subjects into a hidden place in xen -> he mentions at the end of half life 1 that '' The border world, Xen, is in our control for the TIME BEING maybe reffering that in the future gordon alongside eli and the vorts will take it in control in order to set Alyx free from gman's hands and only after all this they come back to go to the borealis, or maybe they somehow use the borealis with the help of Judith to get extracted from Xen after releasing Alyx and destroying Gman's source of power) I JUST COOKED
No matter which scenario is true, if there won't be more Barney in this game, I will riot.
But here's my tier list of scenarios by how much I like whem anyway:
Your efforts are amazing, and I'll be happy to say that I watched till the end :)
Also all I wish for Half Life X is to be a sequel to episode 2, and introducing more Xen wild life? Or maybe just a few new enemies. Borealis of course. Maybe we get to see more links in between half life and portal
You're one of the few youtubers I come to for valve stuff! I always enjoy your videos! I know this comment isn't really related to this video but I just wanted to say I really appreciate all your videos on valve, mods, etc. I really enjoy them, although I don't like watching news stuff very much
My grade 8 self in1998 is soo hyped now been a have life fan since the uplink demo dropped and had to dial up internet download it.
PLEASE DONT GIVE ME HOPE!!!
Guys, its obviously half life dating simulator! All the xen stuff is for the part where gman dates the nihilanth!!!
I hope they will include s3x
I would be even more excited if this was a sequel to hl: opposing force
BRING BACK OUR U.S. MARINE BUDDY ADRIAN!!!
I think, the Half Life 2 era got finished with the ending of Half Life Alyx. So HL2 is done, and HL3 is possible to release
It cant be a deckard prototype. The leaked code is too impressive for a 30 minute demo, plus we know its a non vr game.
Thank you for talking about what making an Episode 3 and a Half Life 3 would mean for the series overall. Many just use the two interchangeably
How has it been “confirmed” that a new half life game is being made? What official has confirmed it?
I could definitely see the possibility of another hl:d game being possible, only because it seems like something they’d like to come back on. I mean they did just have the 25 year anniversary for HL1. I still find it strange that they wouldn’t also be working on hl2:ep3/hl3 because somebody took the time to render the ending and script the ending of ep3 in the new engine.
I think if we see an anniversary update for hl2 and the episodes we are for sure going to see the next episode.
can we just move the story of opposing force as well please they said " his story will prevail as long as gordons does " but my boi adrian still aint got no devolpment
professional yapper
I'm gonna go with your second theory. It would be nice having one last game before HL3 focusing on the history of the Combine occupation, and be the final piece before HL3.
Collette Green ain't likely, since she's a Gearbox character, but I really wanna see Barney appear.
Remember, Barney Calhoun is also a Gearbox character :P
Valve right now: NO HALF LIFE 3 UNTIL SOURCE 3!!!
When I saw that scientist on half life Alyx I was 900% sure it was mossman for some reason, it’s shocking to see it apparently wasn’t her now lmao
A few things I wanted to point out here. It was known though leaks years ago that episode 3 and the half life 3 build of the early 2010s was going to go into Xen. So Xen being apart of HLX could be valve still going down that route. I remember it being mentioned a lot in Tylers old Videos
Also as much as I enjoy getting new half life games that 13 year gap kinda traumatized a lot of the community. Most people wouldn't mind HLX being the last half life game if that meant we got some kind of definitive ending before most of us die of old age or valve goes on another decade long half life burn out that leaves us not getting another follow up to the story until the late 2040s.
plot twist: you play as barney and it explains what happened to him after episode 1.
We gonna have Half Life √9
