Favorite Beach time & (Cloud Tifa) intimate moment least favorite I didnt find it here.
I still have the original version of ff7 ff8 ff9 it's definitely different from the original version of ff7 but I think it works the only thing instead of one package they have many but considering they had to go from scratch because the original blueprint was lost I think they did a pretty good job on it but I'll stick with my ps2 system so I'll never get to take it out for a test drive(the new version of ff7)😔🙏
Favorite: the story, gameplay, character interactions, voice acting
Least favorite: too many mandatory mini games and obstacles.
The minigames totally trashed the game overall, its a mix of mario party and mario rpg and you get better gameplay and replay value out of the last 2 zelda games. this sucked due to being full of 3 or more minigames per chapter.
My least favorite is all the mini games. They just slow down the gameplay. Then the the chadly stuff gets really tedious after awhile. I enjoyed the combat and leveling system.
To add on to Chadley: For some reason he feels the need to talk to you every time you go to him to develop materia or use the combat simulator, and if you skip the dialogue too fast you risk accidentally backing out of the menu and you have to listen to him yap AGAIN
Sephiroth was the best wingman. He got Tifa to flash cloud twice
Killed Aerith to not cockblock him too
and in OG7 even unleashed a Meteor so that they could have a magical time on the Highwind right before a Meteorite crashed against Gaia
if only he hadn't gone all out and killed Cloud's mom and Tifa's dad
Hard to see it as a good thing when she was clearly uncomfortable and unhappy in those scenes and was only doing what was necessary to survive. Which didn't work because he tried to kill her anyway. Definitely felt like commentary on domestic abuse
FR Sephiroth knew what he was doin! He was like “Tell her she doesn’t have a scar again lmao trust me”
Hahahahahah😂
They better smash highwind style or that's it!@@Force-Multiplier
Best - Mini games and side quests.
Worst - Mini games and side quests
Costa Del Sol's side quests and mini games... 👎🏻
👍👍👍@@theyouth2000
Agreed I think they over did it with the mini games but it was also some of the best mini games.
And thinking that why the hell I'm playing those mini games and then start playing them again in less than hour 😅
@@SwayCap yeah every effing thing doesn't have to be a mini game. My breaking point (I know it's silly) but was that side quest to get ingredients for dinner. JFC JUST LET ME PUSH A BUTTON TO PICK UP THE MUSHROOMS. I DON'T WANT TO CHECK THE TENSION OF THE EACH CORNER OF THE STEM. Also whenever it comes on pc and Xbox how are they going to do that side quest?
The music variety in this game is insane. Definitely deserved at least a mention.
Yeah, Dunkey's video was funny: "There's even music for the Chocobo sniffing animation!? This game is wild"
First I was like: Too much new Battle Music, I miss the old theme. And then when it hits, it makes a fight even more enjoyable.
Came here to say EXACTLY that. The music score itself is worthy of an Oscar.
The worse part about Chadley is him crying about AI abuse from his creators only to then go on and treat MAI, his own creation, like a defective product.
I loved everything but i think a big mistake was locking some weapons and items behind minigames. Most of these weren't hard, but if you had one you dislike or were bad at its ni fun doing it over and over again just to get a weapon for a character
Padding. You hate It if its there. You hate it if it's not. You hate it if it's too long, you hate it if its too short
It's contextual. There's good padding and there's bad padding. It's not one-size-fits-all.
Same thing goes for game length. Length is not mutually exclusive with price justification and a game being long or a game being short is not automatically a good or bad thing by default. Long games can be good or bad. Short games can be good or bad. Depends on the content.
Like with dick size tbh
It NOT padding ! If most of side content can skip !
Aka players are never satisfied
@@zueszues9715 saying that you can skip it doesn't justify the tedium of it. Especially when the game has a $70 price tag. You don't get to charge that much for a game and then justify the side quests being badly designed by calling them optional. That is black and white thinking that leaves no room for nuance. It's a part of the game so it's a part of the review of the game. Optional or not. And even with that argument, there are some very important cutscenes hidden behind this so-called optional content so the game feels like it's punishing you if you don't do it. And yes, optional content can be considered padding in a society where people complain that a 20-hour campaign isn't long enough. Buying fast food is optional to but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to complain about the cost. Just sticking your head in the sand doesn't fix the problem.
The worst part is having to wait another 3 or 4 more years to finish this thing off. I want it now😢
My only critique with this Classic GOY worthy game is the Caith Sith throwing box quest 😖
Tifa: “Well, how do I look?” *poses*
Me: 😍 “Beautiful!”
Lonely weirdo huh?
@@MrAjking808don’t be that mean guy
@@MrAjking808 I'm a married man with 3 kids and thought Tifa looked beautiful lol, why try to make it weird? They made everyone look good in their own way in this game. Doesn't take a lonely person to see that.
I'd agree with most of this list. Chadley was cool in the beginning but after five regions is a bit annoying. And for the minigames, they are a bit much, although I enjoyed most of them, as they provided a break in the core gameplay. The biggest issue I see with this game is the pacing of the minigames. There is a stretch, from the Queen's Blood tournament on the boat through the Gold Saucer, that felt like I was doing nothing but minigames for 10 hours straight. The Queen's Blood tournament is a great addition and very fun. Then you have to do a bunch of minigames to get to the beach, then you're thrown into the Gold Saucer and forced to play even more minigames. It felt like I had to complete a series of games to unlock a small piece of story, then on to more games. Overall, I still absolutely adore this game. I'm 50+ hours in and still only in Gongaga. I find it hard to skip the exploration, so I get hung up in side quests and world intel 😁
Trim the fat for part 3 please. Not everything needs to be a minigame padded experience to open a door.
Idk, I'll take optional mini games over talking to npc over and over like ff16. It was a good game, but 95% of the quests is just talk, talk, kill an enemy, and talk. Timing yuffies blade to hit Rufus isn't the end of the world imo.
I could have done without having to wrangle chocobos.
Tifa in swimsuit: “Cloud? Something wrong?”
Cloud: “Uhh…no!” *hides full chub*
He sounds like Chadley! I was trying to put my finger on it, but someone mentioned voice cracking, and then I heard the cadence and it just screamed Chadley.
I don't think Costa del Sol is the best example of the game being padded. The game wants you to spend time and enjoy the place, as if you actually are on a vacation. It's gives a pleasant pacing to this portion of the game. It has fun mini games, and the party gets tons of time to shine with fun character moments. One of the games strenghts is how it connects you to the world and expands on these iconic locations, and how it portays the characters. I wouldn't be without it!
2. The throwing mechanic in Cait Sith's portion of the game doesn't always work as intended because the reticle sometimes won't stretch far enough.
best: music, battle system, characters, dialogue, visuals, Gold Saucer.
worst: Chadley, indeed😂
Wonder if he’s going to be the new Navi/Fi from Legend of Zelda. I swear almost every other game *seems* to have their own version of Navi. That includes Monster Hunter Stories, whose name is shortened to Navi, and who knows what other games. I think even Claptrap of Borderlands also falls into that category.
Chadley is so annoying tbh lol
Chadley is annoying but making it closer to Crisis Core with the simulations is pretty cool
@@supersaiyanzero386 I'm notna fan of simulation within video games. It's not done right most of the time and feels out of place. They could've made the combat simulator challenges scattered out in the fields, even the summons. Plenty of area was empty and suitable for that. And his checklist of things to do could've been a shopkeeper's infoboard, or a book/a bestiary etc.
Cait sith section worst part for me. Best part probably the play at the saucer.
I thought the whole minor annoyance of the background music drowning out the dialogue was me screwing up the audio settings, somewhat happy it was an unintended gameplay feature.
The music is too loud, I made it lower in the volume settings, much better now.
Mini games are a best and worst. Some are stupid broken like the 3rd chocobo glide, cactaur gates, robots, and Middle Manager
Fuck the cactuar gates for screwing up so many otherwise perfect races, and Kid G and his combat trials
@@justadarnminute474 Jumping chocobo>Gates
@@grimshock6983 glide de chocobo can also burn in eternal damnation.
Who designs a course that requires you to turn around to get more air?!?
I have mixed feelings about mini games and side quests. Side quests like getting the chickens back to the old lady was hot trash and mini games like rounding up moogles was frustrating. Hell, there was a minigame for picking up mushrooms for a side quest which was so unnecessary. Queens Blood is by far the best mini game and spiritual successor to Triple Triad. I agree completely that the story (and in extension character development) and combat are the meat and bones of the game. Overall I enjoyed FF7 Rebirth.
The worst thing for me was forcing mini-games into the main line of the story. Can't get to the next place, if you cannot get the mini-game beaten.
The best thing was the entire rest of the game.
Never once had a problem with Chadley. It's like watching a nerdy fan trying his best to help out. Also if you do pay attention to him he kind of gives a backstory to the side quest or whatever you're doing.
I personally did not have a problem with him either but have seen enough complaints online to know that I’m in the minority. I think they probably had him chime in a bit too much for the average person but like you, I liked the quirky enthusiasm and the lore explainers.
I just wish he doesn't speak every time I want access to vr.
Queens Blood was fun. It felt like i was playing an alternate version of Yu-Gi-Oh. All the games at the Golden Saucer were fun, especially the Chocobo races. Felt like Mario Kart.
The only thing that annoyed me was that some of the boss fights were way too hard. I swear there were times i said Square did the impossible and made a game harder than Fromsoft's Souls games
which boss do you find hard? i find them to easy, never died once :S :S :S
@@Mire_Klick MOJOPlays just answered that question for me. But if you want my answer
Rufus
Sephiroth Reborn
Demon Gate
Every 6 person match in Musclehead Colloseum
Scarlet and Specimen
Gi Natack. (Or all the Gi)
@@darthrage8673 in their defense, the reason rufus became harder was because in the remake he was so easy to take on if you have stop materia later in rebirth he was immune to it
Chadley is like that annoying stalker that never leaves you alone
Agree with Chadley, he is the single most annoying part of the game. Some of the mini games are just annoying, the red xiii football game and gold saucer geometric brawler took years off my life. They just absolutely sucked. Loved queens blood once I got my head around it though.
Worst: too much minigames that seem out of place and insanely hard which also be part of side quest or required for platinum trophy.
Some of them even bugged
I could have done with 15 less mini games or at least make them wayyy easier. I didn’t sign up to play 50 mini games when I bought the game.
The boxing, sit ups, and cactar using Arieth were unnecessarily challenging. I bought the game for the story and combat, not to pull my hair out trying to complete the last chocabo race.
Most of them are optional though. The original had the strongest summon in the game locked behind a complex Chocobo breeding mechanic. Pretty sure nobody played that game for that specifically. But I get it, a game gotta have lows and highs.
You are free to lose the only boxing match that is non-optional and the rest you brought up were optional side quests that are not at all important to the story, only for whom you want to romance
@@Mukation. I haven't played the game yet. As I am waiting for the steam version. But from what I have read the side content is more than just side content, while it's optional you miss on many cutscenes that are important or even weapons and items, etc. So in a way the game pushes you to do it.
For instance, I have always hated the card mini games in every FF game, and I am definitely skipping this one, I hope I am not missing anything big because of it.
Boxing is easy - just watch the eyes. Look down? Push down. Pause it as they wind up. Makes a hard game really easy! Shame you can’t ‘cheat’ on some others (like the flying Chocobos or sit-ups)
@robertford6936 You can also cheese it by pausing the game when the opponent is making the move. That way you can take your time recognizing the animation and inputting the correct response.
10/10 for me so far about to finish Chapter 12. So fun with so much content and heart.
LOL… you’re in for a WORLD of pain in 14.
The Tifa Crunch Off / Sit-up mini game is the worst part of the game for me...
Yes, even worse than the Cait Sith throwing segment... I actually liked that part
Legit wayyyy insanely hard. After 30 minutes I was like it’s not worth it.
finally completed the hardest challenge and had tears in my eyes lol
LOL congrats
I can't decide what's worse. The crunch off? Or trying to play Two Legs Nothin to It in the Piano mini game. That was a gun in mouth moment for me.
@@MPCuse haha my version of two legs was a bit more... original. I can get an A on Tifa and that's my limit. I got no rhythem at all.
Having just completed the game, I think the biggest setback for me (that bars it from being PERFECT) was having the map's guidance in certain areas that were raised. I know I wasn't alone in getting frustrated from finding out pretty much how to get from point A to point B in many spots of Gongaga without either exploring the entire region and hoping for the best or just using an online guide. The mini map and it's guide with distance doesn't really help at all. It could show that you're less than 50 feet from your destination, and it's still nowhere in sight. If you're on ground level in Gongaga, chances are you had to traverse through so many mushroom hops and/or vine glides that you'd almost give up.
In the next part, it would be great if the map and guidance itself was reworked. If I'd unlocked where certain special locations are on the map after performing some kind of a task already, I shouldn't have any problem going there just by using the guidance system alone.
Gameplay wise Rebirth is the best Final Fantasy game ever made.
Unpopular opinion: I actually liked Chadley & MAI's banter throughout the game.
Same, and loved the Chadley stuff as it made me explore the game regions more.
need more MAI, she's funny
That Cait Sith section with the boxes was one of the worst gaming experiences I’ve ever had. How that past playtesting is beyond me
I feel like I’m the only person on Earth who loves Chadley and MAI
Yes. You are correct.
she would not shup up during fiend battles. Like, i don't care I'm trying to win!
You are
@@blutomindpretzel1735you can turn it off in the settings that she gives you info on the fiends😂

Perfect about Chadley. I wish we have a option in settings to remove him completely
The mingames were a bit much, they were fun sure, but whoever designed/balnced/tested the crunch off and glide de chocobo should be fired. Queen’s blood and the piano is loved though.
Yes i agree like what were they thinking with those mini games honestly lol
Omg thank you, I’m not the only one who found Chadley an annoyance….
Is he like Navi or Fi from Legend of Zelda games that I heard so much about, and seen videos of?
I think people who are overly annoyed by him need therapy. If you've reached true inner peace, if you are a healed individual then stuff like this would not bother you. Only miserable people are bothered by other people's happiness.
His behavior actually to me feels like low key autism representation which is why I was never bothered by it because autistic people hyperfocusing is completely normal and I'm not an ableist. Plus I think listening to other people talk passionately about things that bring them Joy is in and of itself a joyful experience
@@OversoulGaming"If you don't have the same opinion on a video game character as me you need therapy". I think you're projecting. Are you really that sensitive? A lot of people find Chadley's constant interruptions annoying. A lot of people don't. Suggesting that someone needs therapy because they find him annoying is asinine.
@@jcdenton1841 I mean people are entitled to like or dislike whatever they want and it seems innocent enough at first to be annoyed by something like this but I'm digging into personal experience here and in my experience the type of people who would be annoyed by this character make me personally uncomfortable as an autistic person because I do the same type of hyper focusing and have the same lack of understanding of basic social cues and I think society's annoyance with this character says more about Society than it does the character. It just shows me that people with anger issues are not safe to be around if you are neurodivergent
@jcdenton1841 also worth mentioning that I can't relate to that level of petty irritation because I don't get irritated over Petty insignificant things like that. I get upset over things that actually matter like Financial stress and people being racist. Being that easily bothered over dialogue that you can just skip with the press of a button to me insinuates some kind of need for anger management classes.
But I've always personally thought that people with anger issues need to step away from video games and come back to them when they've learned how to control themselves anyways. People who scream and yell and throw their controllers are just cringe. It's unhinged behavior that is neither normal nor civilized
The BIGGEST problem I had with Chadley, was he was also just an ass. Making annoying backhanded comments about how youre not doing enough for him, I'd take MAIs way too bubbly attitude any time.
I got final fantasy rebirth yesterday, absolutely loving it. Genuinely amazing gameplay, every character feels extremely original, and handles uniquely to each other.
I played for like 9 hours yesterday and only just made it into ch. 4.
I did do a little reading ahead and saw that you can go back to previous areas to get stuff you missed or skipped. So i didnt feel pressured to do everything in a given area before moving on to the next story beat.
Chadley is annoying, but hes written to be annoying. So he was written well. Hes not just a pretentious teenager, hes a super advanced pretentious cyborg teenager. His personality is grating for a reason.
And the minigames havent bothered me at all so far, queens blood is s blast.
9:07 The Cait sith mini game is a dumpster fire in the middle of a 70hr paradise. It goes on for an eternity, makes no sense, and interrupts right when the story is really heating up. I have no idea who is responsible for it but it needs to be cut or made significantly shorter out of respect for the rest of the game, which is marvelous imo
So:
Padding is one of the worst thing, but the mini-games and the side quests are one the best. Mini-games having different controls is one of the worst things in the game, but the gameplay variety is one of the best?
I get it that you guys needed to fit enough stuff to make a top 10 list, but at least try to be consistent?
Final Fantasy 7 Remake got censored shortly before Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth got released so many people cancelled their orders. People should stand against censorings after release! Don't let it happen to others, like it did to Stellar Blade!
I’ve always disliked the mini games in FF, especially when they lock items behind them when it can come down to RNG (I’m looking at you Chocobo Race from FFX!!!). Rebirth went way overboard with the mini games, although some of them are quite fun.
I hate how unbelievably hard it is to platinum this game. I don't mind challenges but this game takes it to another level.
I’ve only got mini games left, and the shinra manager quest, but honestly need a break 130 hours in the games actually made me exhausted 😂. The funniest thing is you can get engaged and mad failing battles or mini games 10 times but when you actually win the satisfying feel is so amazing
@@diovmes I'm so uncoordinated and slow to react to the piano games and I still need to do all hard challenges and to go after all the dark matter. I'm 95 hours in and it simply feels overwhelming at this point. I honestly wished I had just stuck with doing the main story line and left all the side quests and stuff for after game.
@@MrMackievellithe piano game is a reason ill probably never get the platinum, I was a teen when the orginial came out, I just don't have the dexterity for it anymore 😂
I felt the same way about the side quests as I was playing a couple of hours here & there but I finished everything I could on my first play through amounting to more hours than it's taken some to platinum but I'm happy haha
This is my main Issue with the Game! That "Oh, let's make the Minigames even MORE harder!" - BS!
It's exhausting, frustrating and totally not Fun!
I managed to beat Jinan in that goddamn Sit-Up Challenge, but i'm pretty sure that i scraped off ALOT of my remaining Lifes for it! 😩
That's not fun...
For the Piano game I started ignoring the wave thingies and reacted by sound instead ( you'll start remembering the whole song after a few tries). The only thing I changed that really helped me be more relaxed about it was I actually 'gave up' for a couple days, said fuck it. Then came back and started taking it slow, played like 2 hours a day rather than 6 or 7 like i was doing before lol@@MrMackievelli
Worst catching chocobos it took forever
I wish Square-Enix would patch away most of if not all of Chadley & Mai's appearances. Would be great if they shut-up Roche as well, he's just as obnoxious.
100% this.
I actually didn’t mind Chadley at all! In fact, he notices you’re on a date, and leaves you be. That’s a true homie right there. Haha. I also think it’s funny how he manages to make his way places😂
Because he's an android, there are probably several of him operating in a hive-mind fashion. :P
I really like Chadley. And I love how he casually disses Mai at every chance he gets lol!
He annoys me. One of the worst new characters introduced for the remake format.
Chadley calling me up for pointless things was a bit much. "OH CLOUD YOU ARE APPROACHING A PROTPRELIC". YES CHADLEY I KNOW THATS WHY IM HERE
"CLOUD YOU REACHED THE PROTERELIC LOCATION"
I KNOWWWWWWW
@@SPIKEYROXAS💀💀💯
The worst, the remake weapons on display in Johnny's inn doesn't update with any newly gain weapon you missed before. Save checker mention none of this, only the summons materia and you only have one chance, afterward it just treat as if you have no saves. You end up with an incomplete collection or having to restart everything from scratch.
Best: the equipment system. So intricate and not convoluted. Also, could you guys do a video like this for Star Ocean: Second Story R?
WORST THING: Chadley won't SHUT UP.
Don't need an update for EVERY SINGLE accomplishment. Leftoids need that kind of "validation".
An on-screen popup that doesn't temporarily FREEZE the game is fine.
Worst:
1. The minigames. I got so effing over it even before I got to the Gold saucer. 🙄
2. Hard mode, brutal and legendary challenges in Chadley's simulator need to be goddamned balanced. I got to finish Remake's hard mode. But with rebirth, 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
3. Gongaga map. So annoying.
Best: Queen's blood, story and gameplay.
The minigames sometimes were just straight unfair. Also the hard mode incl. the chadley challenges are way overtuned imo. I do like a challenge, but those are too much
Literally the only enjoyable mini game was queens blood
Yes i think that too. The other Mini Games where so awful. I thought to myself why should i play these Minigames when they are Not fun at all
Favourite - love how fleshed out the characters and world are
Dislike - hate some of the side quests and it's annoying that they're necessary to getting the platinum 😭
I love the game
Me after finishing the story: “Chadley is a cool guy.”
Me trying to platinum Rebirth: “Nvm, Chadley sucks. 💀”
I'm happy you called it a double-sided coin for everything being a sidequest. I feel like it being annoying but at the same time actually clever applies very well. The fact that these "sidequests" all have different inputs and stuff seem very intentional. It makes everything have it's own feel, feel different and not just blend into one big pile of game progression. It compliments this game's style of an open-world game a lot by creating a contrast against repetition. It makes things a lot more interactive and different instead of cinematic or repetitive. That's why I think it's really good to acknowledge it being double-sided, because it's both best AND worst at the same time and people like different things. Though to be fair, regardless of how you feel subjectively about anything, it's important to acknowledge and recognize why it is the way it is, assuming what's done is intentional.
Definitely picking this game up your brake down sold me on it 😅
Worst: Terrible mini games, difficult Platinum due to having to master all mini games and difficult VR battles
Best: Back stories for a lot of the characters, somehow made Yuffie a likable character
Best: graphics, voice acting, characters, combat, most of the story, Queen’s Blood
Worst: Every other annoying mini-game, (special shout-out to Fort Condor and that stupid robot game) Gongaga design making it hard to get around,
you mean the optional mini-games?
FF has had minigames for decades tho. Fort Condor and Queens Blood are actually great minigames imho, loved both (especially the latter).
Condor is not that hard, if you go all-out attack. Tifa has haste which, if you get a mob around an enemy position, makes short work.
There’s one particular ‘boss’ who is a turret tower and will shoot anything that comes within range - I found this one trickiest. Use long range weapons from about the halfway line (inside their half) provided you keep the other hostiles busy with ground troops, this was particularly effective.
@@mgsxmike I hate when people say this. Some of these things are required for you to progress through the story.
"No performance issues."
Chuckles in Yuffie Plasma Discharge build...
I do agree that the game is very pretty. One of the few positive points I won't argue against.
Fleshing out the story would be fine, if they had any respect for the original material at all. They are hitting the very basic beats that they have to, in order to keep up the lie that this is an actual remake (its not, since the events of the original game are canon to this game.) but aren't bothering to even keep the original intent of said scenes intact.
Combat was good, not great. They tried to do a combination of action and classic JRPG, but they didn't go far enough on either end. Not saying the combat is bad, but it could have been far better (I mean, they proved it with the Crisis Core remake. The combat in that game was great, with the silly slot wheel thing being the exception.). Essentially, they didn't go hard enough into the action element to make it an amazing and satisfying action based game, but they also didn't go hard enough into the classic RPG style to make a satisfying RPG experience. It results in the mechanics being good, but teasing at what could have been amazing.
More is not always a good thing. The problem with the minigames in this, is the fact that there are so many, and they are so time consuming, and some of which are mandatory. Don't get me wrong, in the original game, there were also a ton of mandatory minigames, some of which were an absolute chore. However, in the original game, they only lasted for a few minutes, then you were done, whereas in these games, you can hit minigames that hold you up for 15 20 minutes, just to get through the mandatory section, but if you are looking for a completion experience, then you are looking at HOURS. Also, in the original game, as good or bad as the minigames may have been, they all made sense relative to the story. You need to make it down a snowy mountain? Snowboarding minigame. Need to catch a runaway submarine? Submarine minigame. Need to escape on a motorcycle? Motorcycle minigame. In these games, the minigames just feel completely arbitrary, and like they are just trying to waste your time (which they are.). I suppose they addressed this point in the immediate next entry. Fair enough.
At least they know MAI was going to be annoying and made Chadley mute MAI sometimes
I liked Chadley chiming in on the controller speaker. His frequency of calls is dependent on what order you're doing the content. If you pay attention to the world Intel, it's not actually after every collection that you get pinged. Regularly and often. But not exhaustively, I'd say. Chadley and MAI go a long way in fleshing out the world's lore on their own. For being original characters specific to Remake trilogy, the fit in to the universe fairly well. It's arguable their regular presence is necessary to give their characters importance.
If I wanted to play a bunch of mini games I would have gotten Mario party for the wii
Not only is everything a minigame, you have to beat every minigame twice - once on normal and once on hard - IF you want that coveted platinum trophy.
I will say Rebirth had Pros and Cons. I’ll start with Cons: the “world intel” stuff got old pretty quick. It was pretty repetitive and annoying to do all that and it was especially hard to find certain areas you needed to be. The protorelic stuff did NOT keep my interest in any way, it felt pointless. All this stuff just made me want to power through it so I can get back to the characters! It may seem minor, but they didn’t quite explain “puppet cloud” like what triggers it or why it’s even happening, I mean we who’ve played the original game know but this is a new experience for them and whenever Cloud is savage or does something unlike him, no one really questions it or him, they just go right back to how they were like it never happened. The separate timeline stuff was confusing and didn’t go where I thought it was going. Maybe a small annoyance, but I don’t like it was revealed that Red 13 was faking his voice and he really sounds like a kid, his fake voice was great! That being said it had a lot of Pros: The characters are more fleshed out and you feel for all of them which makes spending time with them all the more enjoyable! I love the choices in dialogue and the relationship deepening system! Most of the mini games are fun. I love seeing Cloud show his goofy and vulnerable side. I love seeing his relationship deepen with everyone especially Tifa! I never thought I’d see Tifa and Cloud kiss, but they did and I’ll never get over that! The fights were well rounded and not too challenging. Thank God they included fast travel! I love that even if you played the original and know where certain things are going, they changed some stuff and they are changes that make sense. I really don’t know what else to say other than I’m sad that I have to wait several more years to finish this adventure and get closure on how this game made me feel, because I can guess where the next one will conclude but i can’t take not knowing if I’m right!
I have a lot of small issues with the game but I liked it overall the main thing I wanted to see that didn't happen spoiler alert
A fight with the weapon! Any weapon. Any master boss!
Story wise, if nothing else, is why I at least partially don’t mind Charley or the excessive mini games. However, I was praying that we could manually switch characters in the field instead of switching back to cloud after battle.
The one time I wanted Chadley to call me was when I beat the Shadow Queen and nothing. The game is just like good work...moving on.
Yeah that was pretty odd when i beat that quest was like thats it? Lol
Chadley is to Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth as the Adoring Fan is to The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Annoying, constantly reminding you of information of minimal importance. Anyone Agree?
Don’t forget Navi and Fi in Legend of Zelda.
@@whitewolf3051oh god don’t remind 😭 I can still hear her say hey listen
The padding was good sometimes and not. It mainly only annoyed me when I got to Gongaga and that dog escort quest
For me the padding issue is about story.
It just feels weird the the world is potentially ending and I am fighting against fate… but also going round trying to prop up stand for Chocobo stops as if that’s important…
I understand I can skip it but I worry about missing something, be it material or nice character building.
The only thing I genuinely hate is the piano minigames and having to use the freaking analog sticks. I absolutely suck at it.
I expected to see the Shinra Mansion in it's entirety... but there was only a part of it. Same with the Forgotton City, I wanted to see each section from the OG FF7 in more detail. No actual Fort Condor to visit, No Chocobo Breeding, Buggy only available to use in one area of the world map, relocation of the Temple of the Ancients/Sleeping Forest. No Bone Village... I mean, they took too many liberites creating new areas, characters, and unnecessary storylines, that they completely cut out already existing great areas and storylines from the OG FF7.
On top of that, certain materia doesn't function as it used to, (Phoenix doesn't revive all party members when doing it's final attack as an example.) Only can have one Elemental on an Armor equipped at a time? Mastered materia doesn't create a new one.....
Too many things about this game makes me say "If I didn't play the original, I would absolutely love this game!"...
....but again, I was expecting certain mechanics the same, or to see so many areas that in 97, were basically just a painting with sprites on it, to a fully realized area to explore and see in a new dimension.
We only got a percentage of that, and to me, it was really disappointing. (Not the game itself, just the things we missed out on that was in the original).
IT'S STILL A BEAUTIFUL AND FUN GAME
Deff true that this is some of the best combat in any RPG to date, the variety of combinations is stellar!
I hated all the castle assault type of mini games,
I love how this narrator’s voice is constantly cracking between normal and high pitch, almost like we’re experiencing them go through puberty in real time
This is probably the most I've ever agreed with Mojo in a video. About my only quibble is praising the minigames, but it's also a negative in the video for being too many, so it's a minor issue.
Love this game. It’s not perfect but I love the expanded parts. 9/10 for me on the first full play through.
Another best thing about 7 Rebirth is that Cid is not portrayed as a miserable, foul-mouthed abuser. At least, as far as I know.
How is that a good thing? You realize that is how character development works right? The character is supposed to start with some sort of negative trait, then builds up and works through it, becoming a better person. By removing that aspect from Cid, you effectively undermine his character development, since that is literally the thing that he is supposed to grow past. That said, these games have had absolutely no qualms neutering character arcs already, so why not piss on one more?
@@ikeillue8385 Hey! I love my character backstories, including in video games. What I do not like or condone is domestic abuse or people with bad hostile attitudes like Cid from the original. Like that guy had been like that before Shera ruined his dream of going into space. Besides, this is just the second part of this series, so the next game might give him some development then. And who knows, he might still be that miserable, foul-mouthed abuser you love him for.
@@jamesmendonca2900 Why are you putting words in my mouth? I never said that I loved the fact that he was foul mouthed and psychologically abusive. What I said was that is literally the basis of his character development. The game doesn't portray those characteristics as good or heroic or anything like that. They are literally the negative aspect of his character that he needs to get over, just like Cloud's broken mind, Tifa's social anxiety, Barret's "greater good" mentality, ETC. Heck, Barret literally gets hundreds, even thousands of people killed due to his actions, but Cid being mean to someone is where you draw the line for negative character aspects?
Side note, how exactly do you know he was like that before Shera tried killing herself for him? That scene is literally the earliest scene we get of him. We have 0 indication that he was like that before. In fact, its heavily implied that he became that way, because he blamed her for what happened (which he had every right to do. Blame her I mean, not be abusive.). Even Shera puts up with it because she knows that it was her own choices that caused him to act like that.
"The pop-in is not that bad"
cut to Barrett: "I can take it."
fucking laughed out loud at that edit
Great game, they’ve put so much attention into the smallest detail, and it’s honestly just an amazing experience. Ending is arguably controversial but I hope they just simplify things in the third game.
Cloud kissing tifa about time
Worst: extremely blurry in Performance mode. I only use LG C2 55 inch and some claims they don't experience the blurriness when using a 1440p monitor. Not sure if it only happens with all 4K tvs or just to certain models.
I’m sorry but Charley is what kept me going and exploring! I couldn’t have done all that exploration or the card game or anything besides the story without Charley in it!
The Environment Designs is what I imagine would look like, after playing Remake.
Most of the worst in this video are nowhere near as bad as the guy makes sound
The Moogle “side game” just gets worse the further you go.
I found navigating Goganga and Cosmo Canyon annoying on those dam chocobos! (Especially Gonganga since it's hard to look up because vegitation gets in the way of your camera.)
I agree with you on Queens Blood, it's amazing. Playing at the gold saucer seems harder then anywhere else as you need to win 2/3 games to progress.
I liked playing Gears and Gambits since you can customise robots going in to battle. I enter a new area with utter dread when having to learn a new game mechanic. As I am writing this, I am mostly done at Niblehiem. Relieved I have finished all the moogle mini games.. but annoyed again because I am stuck on unlocking Odin on easy. ><
Those of you who are aiming for platinum... my.. god. Get ready to grind.

Most of the mini games aren’t even fun to play. What’s worse is that they’re tied into side quest and protorelics and some main quests. Worst part of the game by far.
Oh and then there is that Cait Sith mission! AWFUL!
Ahem. it’s actually pronounced “Cait Shit” 😂 but seriously I DEPISE his sections in Chapter 11 and that slow ass Moogle.

Having to pick up boxes and throw them at elevators, switches , and moving industrial sized cauldrons!
Barret and Aerith just stands there. Horrible game design. It was so tedious, I started hating on that cat. Lol
@@thejudge1712 that’s what I’m saying! Deadass aerith or barret can shoot down shit at any point in the game, or touch any levers to help get through the level. But here the developers made throwing a box feel awkward and jank. I swear anytime I see (hologram hojo) I know it’s going to be a long/shitty filler dungeon. 😂
We getting more Chadley, with him being one of Hojo test subjects. Mini-games definitely need to be cooldown in the next game.
Final fantasy 7 Rebirth is the game i have been waiting for, some mini games and side quest was good and probably not good. I enjoy the game a lot.
For me, Fort Condor and Glide de Chocobo are the worst. There's no wiggle room or room for error.
Worst minigame was definitely the chocobo flying one in cosmo canyon. Idk how that one passed QA
I love chadley especially with his banter with the girl (can't remember her name)
