Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes for the PlayStation 2 should have gotten a mention. It's a really awesome 3 on 3 fighting game. It is a good thing that this game, including the original and other Marvel fighting games (as well as the classic arcade beat 'em up The Punisher) will be part of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics coming out for PlayStation 4, Steam (PC), and Nintendo Switch later this year.

Ive played and still play all kinds of racing games and of course midnight club grand Turismo and need for speed got better with time but Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero completely blew my mind. Being able to put ground effect kits on over 100 different cars, flashing your headlights to start a race had me glued for hours. To bad in my opinion it was the only one they made I liked. If there ever was a game that needed a updated version made it's this one
I'll die on the hill that the Ps2 is the greatest console of all time. The fact that now the games can be played on the go means that technology is at it's peak. Everything else is gravy. While this list was a decent one, a few things. First, that Burnout 3 footage was atrocious. Second, I would argue that that Silent Hill 2 is a far better game than RE4 ever will be. The story is incredible and it's a much more approachable game in terms of difficulty. SH2's legacy is still felt, even today and that's why the remake is such a tremendous deal.
I played most of this PS2 games ..nice top! But PS2 haved so manny great games that needs at least a top 100's and for me one of the best games that arent in this top has been: The Warriors , Commandos Strike Force , Def Jam Fight for NYC , 50 Bulletproof , Tru Crime New York City , And 1 Streetball , Red Dead Revolver, The Godfather , Scarface ,Mafia,Tony Hawk Project 8, Need for Speed Underground 1 or 2 , NFS Most Wanted , Pro Evolution Soccer 6 or 7 , NBA Street Vol. 2 , NBA 2K9, NBA Live 2005 etc. and the list can go on and on.. Not to mention Kuon or Rule of Rose ;)
Used to play virtua fighter 4 with my dad and i would always play shin du and crane kick him over and over again, I remember being amazed at playing a 2d fighter in a 3d arena

The PS1 introduced a lot of these iconic franchises, but the PS2 epitomized them. The PS2 is hands down the greatest console ever, and there isn't much of an argument.
To answer the question about destructible environments in the modern day --- it's WAYYYYYY too resource intensive to do that with how many more polygons games have these days. Red Faction on the PS2 was just the perfect blend of just enough power and not enough graphical over-complication for it to work.

Getaway should go to top 25 PS2 titles. And personally I like so much RE that my top 50 easily have both Outbrakes and Code Veronica. Also SH Origins, MGS 2 and TR Legend, Anniversary and Underworld. But I understand why they aren't on this list. As it also doesn't have God of War. EyeToy: Play could be on this list. Also how about Eternal Ring (defined games such as Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and finally Elden Ring)?
I tried to get into the Medal of Honor series including Frontline long after its time but struggled to get into it. I can still go back and play retro FPSs like GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect, and IIRC Red Faction 1 and 2, but MoH games felt pretty sluggish by comparison.
In my defense, I didn't start gaming or anything until the early 2000s so I'm not going to be familiar with many of these. But even though I didn't experience much gaming on the console, I definitely agree that this is one of if not the best consoles ever.❤👊
I hate how people drool over ssx tricky in these lists. Ssx 3 is superior in every way to tricky. Sudo open world, WAY better more fluid handling/controls, better aesthetic, more characters, more content in general with the inclusion of big challenge mode, better tracks, better music, better interface. Going back to tricky after playing 3 feels so sluggish and dull in comparison. They claimed tricky was definitive when 3 exist which makes me think they never played it.

IMO Gran Turismo 4 should have been where GT3:A-Spec was. The gameplay was obviously very similar but GT4 had so much more content, and yet it didn't feel bloated (apart from with Skylines and MX-5s, of course).

Ive played and still play all kinds of racing games and of course midnight club grand Turismo and need for speed got better with time but Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero completely blew my mind. Being able to put ground effect kits on over 100 different cars, flashing your headlights to start a race had me glued for hours. To bad in my opinion it was the only one they made I liked. If there ever was a game that needed a updated version made it's this one

I'll die on the hill that the Ps2 is the greatest console of all time. The fact that now the games can be played on the go means that technology is at it's peak. Everything else is gravy.
While this list was a decent one, a few things. First, that Burnout 3 footage was atrocious. Second, I would argue that that Silent Hill 2 is a far better game than RE4 ever will be. The story is incredible and it's a much more approachable game in terms of difficulty. SH2's legacy is still felt, even today and that's why the remake is such a tremendous deal.
I loved playing Samurai Legend Musashi on PS2. Also DBZ Budakai Tinkaishi, Naruto Ninja Storm and One Piece Battles.
I love how the final fantasy X music is playing a ton haha

I played most of this PS2 games ..nice top! But PS2 haved so manny great games that needs at least a top 100's and for me one of the best games that arent in this top has been: The Warriors , Commandos Strike Force ,
Def Jam Fight for NYC , 50 Bulletproof , Tru Crime New York City , And 1 Streetball , Red Dead Revolver, The Godfather , Scarface ,Mafia,Tony Hawk Project 8, Need for Speed Underground 1 or 2 , NFS Most Wanted , Pro Evolution Soccer 6 or 7 , NBA Street Vol. 2 , NBA 2K9, NBA Live 2005 etc. and the list can go on and on.. Not to mention Kuon or Rule of Rose ;)
Used to play virtua fighter 4 with my dad and i would always play shin du and crane kick him over and over again, I remember being amazed at playing a 2d fighter in a 3d arena

I didn’t getta PS2 til the slim came out in 2004 and I loved it!
The PS1 introduced a lot of these iconic franchises, but the PS2 epitomized them. The PS2 is hands down the greatest console ever, and there isn't much of an argument.
I would put Shadow Hearts/Shadow Hearts 2 in the top ten for best games on PS2. The story, characters, graphics, and combat were all top-notch.
To answer the question about destructible environments in the modern day --- it's WAYYYYYY too resource intensive to do that with how many more polygons games have these days. Red Faction on the PS2 was just the perfect blend of just enough power and not enough graphical over-complication for it to work.

The gaming industry has just become generic and lazy, no one innovates anymore like back in the day

And personally I like so much RE that my top 50 easily have both Outbrakes and Code Veronica. Also SH Origins, MGS 2 and TR Legend, Anniversary and Underworld. But I understand why they aren't on this list. As it also doesn't have God of War.

I tried to get into the Medal of Honor series including Frontline long after its time but struggled to get into it. I can still go back and play retro FPSs like GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect, and IIRC Red Faction 1 and 2, but MoH games felt pretty sluggish by comparison.

I hate how people drool over ssx tricky in these lists. Ssx 3 is superior in every way to tricky. Sudo open world, WAY better more fluid handling/controls, better aesthetic, more characters, more content in general with the inclusion of big challenge mode, better tracks, better music, better interface. Going back to tricky after playing 3 feels so sluggish and dull in comparison. They claimed tricky was definitive when 3 exist which makes me think they never played it.

IMO Gran Turismo 4 should have been where GT3:A-Spec was. The gameplay was obviously very similar but GT4 had so much more content, and yet it didn't feel bloated (apart from with Skylines and MX-5s, of course).
