Laura, as someone of a certain age, I remember all this very well. I was in my teens in the 1960's..I drank Tab, and, I recall all those other diet "secrets" of that era. Still, with all of that, I feel times were so much simpler than trying to keep up with the diets and the beauty industry of today. Yes, people smoked too much, and probably drank too much; however, as a young girl, the standard of beauty back then didn't seem impossible to maintain. Now, it does, especially for mature women. I still like and continue to use some "older" brand products, like Pond's Cold Cream, etc. I enjoy your videos, bringing me back to that simpler time when happiness seemed easier to achieve. Thank you for sharing! Rosemarie 💖

Walking is great! Don't snack between meals. Remember that one? Here's some from me: Pretend like it's 1960 and only eat out four times a year. Allow only one soda per day or just one a week on Saturday evening with popcorn.❤ Eat one apple (or piece of fruit) per day (in addition to meals). Eat slowly and chew well. Drink two glasses of milk per day. Eat smaller portions. Cook everything from scratch. Make enough for leftovers! Grow a Victory Garden if possible. Bake a cake twice a month using real butter. From scratch...

You make so many good points. I remember in the 1970s eating dinner in restaurants more nights than not. Cooking at home more now, avoiding sugars and starch and eating lots of the the most nutrient-dense organic vegetables I can stay at a good weight easily. Our food environment makes it so much more challenging these days, while at the same time we are far more fortunate than previous generations in the US in that fresh vegetables are available year round for most people. I think work life (long hours, both spouses working as in my family) also make it more difficult. This was like a walk down memory lane for me though😂😂😂

It does take some discipline. I have to pray for that will power and if you can just start walking, however much or little you can every single day, you will begin to enjoy it. I have always walked and it will keep your mind off eating.

Do keto, it works fast. It’s a little hard at first but you get used to it you really do. I lost 40 pounds in four months and have kept it off for a whole year so far and I’ve relaxed the keto a little bit, but now a teaspoon of honey tastes so incredibly sweet to me. Lots of great videos on it on RUclips they are so helpful. Health Coach Kait is really great for beginners she explains everything so clearly
