    📝 - What we're looking at in this video
    In this video, we dive deep into the world of adapting third-party lenses to the Hasselblad X2D. If you've ever wondered whether it's worth the hassle, I've got you covered. We'll look at the ins and outs of using non-native glass, including when it works beautifully and when it's better to use native XCD lenses. From dealing with the rolling shutter effect to maximizing the 7-stop in-body image stabilization, you'll get a clear picture of what to expect. We'll also discuss the impact on image quality and the best lighting conditions to avoid issues like banding. Whether you're shooting with Leica, Carl Zeiss or considering Mitakon Zhongi lenses, this video breaks down everything you need to know. I've got some real-world examples and practical tips for getting the most out of your Hasselblad X2D with 3rd party adapted lenses. It might be exactly what you want to get that little bit extra out of your Hasselblad X camera.
    PS Some things apply to the X1D cameras too...

      Well... no point trying to artificially drag you till the end. I'd rather tell you "why"... and possibly "why not". Do you adapt a lot of lenses to the X2D?

      @@oliscurra i adapted the M lenses, having said that i m sticking with the natives lol.. i wont mind though but not worth the hassle to be honest, while i plugged the cfv100c to 500 series bodies flawlessly and love it

    I wish a firmware update would bring the 14bit drop to the X1D II

    All equipment has limitations and it's like the old saying the right horse for the right course. I found shooting pentax 67 lenses on a 5D mark ii really rewarding but when I tried the Mamyia, I found it a waste of time.

    How about the HC & HCD lenses? The older loose AF function, while the more recent Orange dot/square should be fully compatible. HC also cover a larger sensor. Obviously AF will become even slower, but the retain central shutter function

      Nice catch. I forgot to mention them. It would be awesome to adapt them once and give them a try though.

    One more point: No flash if the electronic Shutter is used with adapted glass.

    when I had an x1dii i used an adapted hcd 100mm f2.2 using the xh adapter from Hasselblad. That lens truly produced amazing results. Incredible bokeh. I still miss using that setup. But as far as adapting other lenses it is a big no for me using Hasselblad. I am on the fence about getting another, the x2d, or getting a gfx and being able to adapt all types of lenses. I prefer the color science on the Hasselblad though.

      That’s a bit an issue for me too. The color science of the Hasselblad X2D is without a doubt my favourite colour science I’ve shot.

      I don’t feel it hunts very much. Of course you cannot compare it to Sony camera. If that’s your frame of reference, you will be disappointed.

    Adapting the lens is truly one of the biggest downfalls of this camera. I also try to adapt the V lens to the X2D, and the hassle and frustration are just not worth the final image.

      Honestly I think it’s the wrong system to choose if your primary interest is adapted lenses. A Fuji GFX makes way more sense.

      @@davidmantripp5312 I totally agree. I bought it for its modern lens but I think its a shame that old V lens don't work better.

    • @oliscurra
      @oliscurra  Месяц назад +1

      I guess the sensor absolutely outperforms the V lenses, but I still enjoy shooting them. My biggest wish was that the adapter would’ve triggered the shutter mechanism in the lens itself.
