    When I first started playing wow, I couldn't find a single video that broke things down for my small new brain. What I hope to have accomplished with this video is to give you everything that you need to start healing, as well as teach veteran healers some ways to tweak their UI! I ALWAYS get asked how to make certain changes to my UI, so this video will be a one stop FAQ for those questions! However, if you have more, feel free to drop a comment!
    Join my discord using the link below, and go to the #my-ui channel for links shown in the video!
    Weakauras Grid2 Clique Plater and OmniCD are the addons discussed

    You don't need Clique for mouse-over casting; the default UI can do that since Shadowlands. Options -> Gameplay / Combat / Mouseover Cast = Enabled with mode None.
    Clique allows creating hover-sensitive keybinds quickly without having to write macros, but in my opinion, they are error-prone and not really necessary, so I prefer having 1 ability per keybind.

      Clique is designed to simplify already in game functions like mouseovers. I like it because it's very simple and my small brain doesn't have to learn more lol, but you can absolutely go without it!
      Also I haven't had any errors with it, but that doesn't mean they don't exist!

      @@LBNinja7 With error-prone I meant human error.
      If I bind 2 abilities to 1 mouse-hover sensitive key-bind and I want to cast the non-mouse-hover ability in a very hectic fight, I might accidentally press the key-bind while still having the mouse hovered over a party frame and end up casting the wrong ability. My brain would then try to avoid that situation by always moving the mouse cursor really far away from party frames, but getting the mouse back to the party frames would then take more effort.
      It's a trade-off of having lots of simple key-binds vs fewer but complex key-binds. One could discuss this for hours I think. :)

      Game version of click is not good. Whenever you make a new talent profile your click settings disappear on your old profiles. Same with a new character, then you go back to the character with wow click setup and you cannot res ppl on shift click! Add-ons are much less error prone than the wow counterparts.

      @@LBNinja7 The only bug I found in clique was when I was trying to cast soul stone on my warlock. Sometimes it would target the person I was clicking on directly (my preference) but annoyingly it started self-casting which is catastrophic when I was trying to b-rez someone. Since then I dropped clique and experimented with the default. Default frames bug out in raid, so I dropped those and I now use Cell and for the most part am very happy with it. Probably the best party frames I have used since Vanilla.

    Hey! How can i display mana bomb on Vex boss with Grid 2? It is so important to see who needs healing at that moment but standart ui is so small to see debuff. btw thx for guide!

    • @LBNinja7
      @LBNinja7  Месяц назад +1

      I totally agree! It helps a ton to add certain boss mechanics and debuffs.
      I'm away from my pc right now (out of town) so I'll try to walk it through and let me know if something I say isn't there!
      Type /grid2 to open the menu
      Click "statuses" on the left
      Click "debuffs"
      There should be a bar you can type in to type the debuff name or spell Id, and you can put "386173" in. From there you can hit "create" or "okay" whatever it's called that enters it in
      Find the debuff you just added and you can select where you want it on your name plates

    Sorry, I aint filling my UI with a whole middle keyboard blocking my view, it worked fine so far moving to the name bars on the left side of the screen. Sure, it is not optimal, but it works fine and the center of my screen is clean. I cant stand having target icons in the middle of the screen...

    • @LBNinja7
      @LBNinja7  Месяц назад

      Basically, a good UI will show you all the important information during hectic fights in such a way that your eyes and your brain can easily and quickly retrieve it. In WoW that means having important stuff like ability cool-downs and party frames close to the middle where you usually focus your camera on enemies.
      I dislike the redundancy of showing abilities in the middle (WAs) and the bottom of the screen (action bars). My solution: no redundant WAs in the middle of the screen; just move up the action bars up to the middle and put the important abilities in the top row. It's less readable than a fully customized set of WAs because it has 3x12 icons, but it works for me, and the other nice thing is it works for all classes and specs.
