Top of the day EVERYONE. thanks for sharing video 151. See, there are still some good people out here in this old world. My hat off to you Joe. Be safe and stay well everyone . ( DESPERADO 56 North side of Tampa Florida waving a hand.. .P.S. Hello to mrs. mower junkie. Til next time . 73's
I have been in CB for years and been a HAM for almost 20 years, have one of those McKinleys in my company truck for a couple of years. They are impressive right out of the box love the front mounted speaker no complaints on any part of the radio. Enjoy your videos.
God bless Joe, and you mower junkie. It's nice to see other folks being kind to each other. Me, I just wish I could come up with 50' of 50 ohm coax, and a cheap swr meter, to make my Homebrew antenna work. 73
Excellent video Mower Junkie :) also treasure that President McKinley radio and show how operated it to ! Also treasure radio pals because bring or mail surprises to you ! I know have lots my way help me out on my CB radio I have too! Especially one always like but keep my hobbies to grow too!
I myself have a President McKinley and they are very decent radio. The receiver is very sensitive and also filters out static as well. I found the stock mic works absolutely great however if you use a d104 m6b the audio seems the sound a little narrow. And believe me the front-facing speaker sounds great. Hope you enjoy it you've got yourself a good friend up there in Connecticut......Up date...If you use the SUPERSTAR DM 1000 tornado ECHO microphone you will notice that it will put a little more bass in the audio and the audio won't sound narrow going out of the radio....
I aspire to have a classic radio collection like you have Mower Junkie. I have a few. I have all my CB Radios through the years never got rid of even one
When you said president microphone I could tell by the size of the radio it was a President McKinley I have the same radio that's funny that I got it right
I have been watching your videos and have been a sub for a time now. You got me back into the hobby and I thank you for that. I talked to your friend John 127 yesterday and it was awesome. I mentioned that I knew his voice from your videos. He was very polite and a great guy. My numbers are 056 southeastern Arizona. He told me he is running a galaxy dx 2517. I told him I run a galaxy dx 2547. He told me he would give 500$ for my radio and that he had a 5$. Thanks my brother for introducing me to the hobby in full 😀
My Wife bought me one for Xmas on LSB I Never need to turn clarifier and no one has said "you're off frequency!" No you are high, you are low works great and audio is good to boot
Hey Joe... where you going with that mic in your hand 🎶 🎵 🎶 Going down the key up on my neighbor 🎶 🎵 🎶 caught him messing around on 11 meter band.. 🎶 🎵
I have a McKinley and it's a great little radio! I love it because it fits perfectly in the tray on my center console right in front of my shifter in my Nissan Frontier and Xterra. It fits like it was there from the factory! The front speaker on the McKinley works great for a mounting setup like that as well, or even if you wanted to dash mount it. The channel up/down buttons on the mic are nice for when you're driving if you want to change through the channels.
I’m jealous. I bought a Ronald for a super compact mobile, installed it and talked for a couple days. Then I find out all the action is on 38 LSB. Now I wish I had bought the McKinley. If anybody wants to send me one, I’ll post a video of the unboxing and send you a President Ronald in return. 😆 Anyway, I’m excited for you boss, and look forward to the new range test videos! 👍🏻
That Joe C. guy is a jerk! Joe R. is the one you want on your buddy list. lol I wrapped the mic because I didn't want you seeing the brand before opening the radio. Now you need to do a range test from the car. I was originally going to send you the old McKinley I got on eBay. But I'm not a fan of the menu driven newer radios so I'm keeping the old one for myself. You're going to need that owner's manual. lol
Thank You so much "Joe R". I've been using this Mc Kinley to talk to England today. I gave it a slight tune up.....and put it to work! Thanks again Joe, 73's from 151 SC.
@@MowerJunkie Maybe when I move down there, you can sneak over to my place at night and setup a 100' tower with the antenna. Just make sure it's gift wrapped. lol
Cool gift for sure. I have been listening for you, but not too much DX coming from your area. I did hear 0737 today so maybe I'll make contact with you soon. 73, 553 San Antonio
@@marksandquist4275 hey there 875. We made a very quick contact yesterday about midday to mid afternoon. I was in the semi somewhere around Waco to Dallas, Tx. Maybe next time we can have a better QSO. 553

When the manufacturer starts using SDR based transceivers then they will be really compact.

Take care, 73's from 151 SC.
Cool I unboxed my Galaxy 959 today witch is going to be my base station radio, can't wait to get set up and start breaking some waves
Very nice Mower Junkie,, let me know how you like it on SSB 👍
I wish a lot more manufactures would put those front firing speakers in mobiles.
The funny thing is, I won't be using the internal speaker. When I mount this in my car, it will be hooked up to my door speakers.
That's a nice radio I think you'll enjoy it!
Thanks Rob, 73's

McKinley is a great skip shooter for sure.
Those are good little radios! While I don't own one, I have been on the receiving end of a few of them during skip and they sound GREAT!
Please do a review on this radio. I've been looking at them and am on the fence. I know you'll do an honest review. You lucky dog.
