Autumn Cook Week....Vlog 125

- Something you might have noticed is that when it comes to our cook weeks we are creatures of habit.
we have our dishes that we love and even if we have two meals that are a little different, most of them are what we had in pervious weeks.
NOTE:
maker recipes smaller is not my strong point, I don't want to risk making a mistake that would cause problems for you. which is why I leave them in the amounts that we need for our community.

recipe in vlog 104
Muslix: 4:53
24 cups oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
5 quarts yogurt
8 cups milk
fruit of choice
mix everything together either overnight or an hour prior to serving, both options work.
Loaded hotdog: 9:23
2 jars mushrooms(chopped & fried)
5 cups onions (fried)
6 lbs bacon (fried)
10 cups shredded cheese
4 cups mayo
for the dough:
2 1/4 Cups milk
1 1/2 Cups margarine
1 1/2 Cups honey
2 1/4 cups eggs
2 1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp vitamin c
4 cups white flour
yeast mixture:
2 1/2 cups water
7 tbsp yeast
1/4 cup sugar
make yeast mixture and set aside, combine the rest of your ingredients, add the yeast mixture and allow to mix for 20 mins on low speed.
cover and let rest until double in size.
cut hotdog half way through, add mixture, roll long thin rope like pieces and wrap around the hotdog, allow to rise until double in size. bake at 320 for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Baked rice: 17:30
recipe in vlog 104
Pumpkin scones: 18:30
22 cups white flour
4 cups sugar
½ cup baking powder
4½ cups cold butter shredded
9 cups pumpkin puree 3 cups cream
12 eggs 5 tsp salt
10 tsp cinnamon 8 tsp nutmeg
6 tsp cloves 6 tsp ginger
Combine dry ingredients
Add shredded butter and mix by hand till it resembles coarse oatmeal
Whisk pumpkin cream and eggs and fold gentle into dry mixture
With cookie scoop place on baking sheet covered with wax paper.
Bake @ 325 for 15 min.
TOPPING
2 tsp nutmeg
4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp of ginger and cloves
8 cups icing sugar
1 cup milk
Whisk and drizzle over baked scones as soon as you remove them from oven.

I worked in restaurants baking most of my working life and I can say that I wouldn't have been to film anything and get my work done like you do, so I applaud your vlogs!
it is definitely tricky and on days when we are really busy then I don't even get any footage and it would be nice to show that, I have tried and it didn't go so well.
That last shot of harvesting at night w the purple clouds was stunning.

I always love cook week! I like to see what kind of gadgets you have to slice and dice 😊 I really enjoyed watching harvest, the big machines really make it easier, surprisingly still working late at night when it is dark! Giselle, such a delightful look into the world of colony cooking. I see a lot of roasted veg and now that cold weather is here, I am inspired to do more roasting because it helps to warm the house. I know how you feel re the flies as we have a "fly season" here too: absolutely aggravating.

Sweet Kona Dog.
I found your channel today and am enjoying it very much. I have a tip for you- in one of your previous videos you changed your dress to ride your bicycle so you wouldn't damage another dress. For this tip you need 2 things, a coin, small rock, small ball, or something like that and also a rubber band or hair tie. While sitting on the bicycle seat, take the bottom/back of the dress and the top/front of the dress, both at the hem line (adjust higher if necessary) and hold them together. Place the coin, ball or rock on the underside by the hem holding both pieces. Now on the top side of both the front and back pieces of fabric, wrap the rubber band or hair tie around the coin on the top. It holds the front and back together so it doesn't flap around as much and you can raise it up or down or gather as much as you wish. I know you didn't mention this topic in this video but I thought you would be more likely to see this comment on a more recent video. Thank you for sharing, I find your life very interesting and think about how it might be.

I love watching you prep food for your meals. I like how you do things, period. I must comment on Kona's preference for eggs. I used to have a half German Shepherd, half Collie, and he, too, loved eggs. He was jet black and his coat was so shiny as a result. Like you, I can sit and watch a river for hours on end. For me, it's calming. We're hoping to get some rain but it seems the chances are dwindling by the minute. Outside work is wrapping up and I do what I can here inside. Isabelle is wanting out again. Thanks for this vlog. I've enjoyed it. Blessings.

This is actually Sarah Rickman using my hubby's phone. With so much food insecurity in the world it's gotta feel like such a huge blessing to be able to grow food that the whole colony can harvest and process. This is what America should have never stopped doing. I can see God's blessings upon your all's crops. I'm very thankful for the food we have to. The Lord said in his word that the Righteous during a Famine would have plenty. And when we're gone it'll be a blessing to somebody and hopefully the goodness of the Lord leads them home to Jesus Christ.

I love toast and tomatoes on top but they have to be really red. Yum.
🤔 Maybe a tripod or cam holder would help if you want to film all the prep as well?? One with a bendy neck, so you can move it fast and easy to get different angles. If it would help then....umm....maybe put it on a wish list and see what happens 🤞someone might have a spare to give you.
