I am from Canada. We just took 3 Jetson Bolt Pro bikes camping in the Canadian Rockies. We rode them on pavement and on trails. They are a bit tricky and can go out from under you if you hit a rut or loose gravel but overall they performed impressively considering the size and the price.
I bought this bike for my nephew. We did about a 16 mile trip. He pedals maybe 25% of the time and he still had 3 bars of battery. Of course weighing 60lbs and the flat terrain, I'm sure had a huge effect.
Bought one in the winter. Finally being able to use it. It rides really good. I'm 161 lbs. I feel like I'm flying. Great Buy. I ride off and On road depends on traffic. Ohio.❤
I live in NE Florida. I've had a big cargo ebike for almost a year now, and love it. I recently came across Jetson Bolt Pro when watching other ebike mod videos. Can't believe this thing is only $340 at Costco (which also has a great return policy so minimal risk). The temptation was too much -- had to get it! So far I love it. You can't really directly compare this bike to bigger ebikes, but even just kinda comparing the two the Jetson Bolt Pro does really well for what it is. I'm also 6'3", but 245lbs and this little booger pushes this big fat guy pretty well here in relatively flat Florida. I took it on its first real ride to run some local errands, and it did really well. I mostly pedal to get it started or to go up slight inclines, but after I'm going I only use the throttle. I went ~10 miles and still had 1/2 the charge left on the battery when I got home, so it would probably do the 17 miles per charge the way I ride it. I'm already putting a taller (450mm) seat post on it as the stock one is a little low for me, replacing the mechanical brake calipers with better hydraulic calipers (not full hydraulic brakes), and I'm going to do the 19mph speed hack. Eventually I'll probably get a higher amp hour battery for it (you can get 36v/10ahr battery that is the same dimensions as the stock 36v/6ahr battery) depending on how much the range suffers from the 19mph speed hack. The fun factor of this tiny ebike is through the roof!
Thank you for giving me a tour of Oceanside! I have two JBP'sl the first one (bought from Costco Warehouse) wouldn't hold air in the rear tire, so I decided to use the tire slime (it worked BTW), and the other one I just received yesterday from Costco online. We are from San Diego/Chula Vista. We live in such a great & blessed State.
Hello from Canada! Thanks for making this video and sharing your results! I just got this ebike today from Costco. Looking forward to riding this next spring when the weather gets nicer. I’m only 5 feet 7 inches guy and I thought this ebike from the pics online would be too small for me. Well if it fits you then it’s definitely going to fit me. Haha. Thanks again! Nice to see the beaches and sunshine!
I live in California. The Jetson was basically my "gateway drug" into the ebike realm. I bought a refurbished Bolt Pro online, and I liked it at first. It topped out at 12 mph, but the range wasn't great. It only got around 6-8 miles per charge. I've since bought 2 more bikes, with a 3rd on the way in a month. A Totguard bike off Amazon that goes 21 mph, and a Freesky fat tire bike also from Amazon that goes 28-30 mph, both go about 20 miles per charge. I just recently bought an Ariel Rider Kepler bike that's about a month away and is supposed to go 32 mph with a much larger 52v 20ah battery (which will hopefully translate to even further range).
That's awesome!! Having a 52v battery with that much Ah is gonna be epic! I think if I have to choose between range and speed, above 30mph is solid, after that, range becomes the bigger issue. I love the new dual battery setups...can't wait for battery tech to keep improving and getting cheaper. Thanks for the comment and watching this video, I really appreciate it!
Update: so I have the Ariel Rider Kepler now, and it goes a legit 35mph on throttle only. 0-30 is quick and effortless, and then it works its way up from 30 to 35. When limiting speed to 20-25 mph, I got about 30 miles out of the battery, to about 8%.

My Jetson Bolt Pro is currently on its way to my home. Read good reviews prior, looked to be what I currently needed, and great price ~ even for me buying from Jetson site. I will be doing a lot of peddling, as well, so I’ll be able to get around pretty great, I believe.
Absolutely. Pedaling you'll get an instant response from the accelerator and it saves battery that way.juat keep in mind while pedaling it's sensitive so you don't really have to push it too hard, almost like you're pushing against a cloud, if that makes sense. Just try it you'll get what I mean. Let the engine do the work manageably and you'll enjoy long rides without fail.
@@edwardcephas3843 thanks for the advice. I saw one of Shiva’s videos saying that the brakes are very sensitive, so to take time getting used to them. It sounds like this is the very responsive/supportive power type of bike I’d hoped for; but also that means I should take some time initially in some quieter areas to become familiar with the way it handles.
@@HelloYiddy Exactly. Where I live there are hills and flat areas everywhere and because I'm a delivery courier (with this bike) I've had to do a ton of research on ways to maximize the potential of the Bolt Pro, even with the OEM battery thats installed. It's an amazing machine but doesn't look like it if you just stare at it. (It's my kind of ride, unassuming but powerful under the hood) Even when making deliveries my customers are floored when they see me come in with their stuff, and many stated that i got here quicker than they were prepared for. I can take, or create many byways where a car can't and its paid off well for me and my customers. I love the bike, but one of the only things that can be a turn off is the throttle, it is installed with a tough adhesive but the inner part of the plastic can be weak in higher temps (i'm in sunny Florida) so its prone to breaking, and while industrial glue can fix that quickly for a time it'll need to be replaced. If you have Jetson's warranty they can send you a replacement throttle under coverage or you can replace the bike with credit back for the cost of the bike. I've used the warranty myself and got a brand new bolt pro this way, they were really helpful given my situation at the time.
I would love to see this with the use of mild peddle assist. Nothing crazy, just a smooth peddle :) love these little guys, got to ride one for a little at a campground...
@@MrTtaakk hopefully, you’ve already gotten your answer but just in case… Yes. It’s light enough to carry up stairs. Maybe more importantly, it is small enough. The awkwardness of other, larger bikes, is a price we pay for their added functionality. Being small counts for a lot. Set up was straightforward. A few Allen wrenches for the stem, I think, and it was just about there. I think the pedals has to be installed, as well. Too bad Costco moved on from them. The deal was soooo good.
Burbank California. My cousin has lived near the water nearly all his life, but a bit north of you, in Santa Monica’s Ocean Park neighborhood (just a few blocks from world famous Venice beach). I love the beach communities and envy him (and you!); enjoy life, young man, and thanks for sharing.
Hi from Az, just back from Costco with my new Bolt Pro! My husband is charging it in the box in case we need to return it. Seeing your videos made me decide to take a chance, cheers!
Depending on how far you pull the throttle you can actually see a 30 mile range even with the full auto and cruise control; there is a point where you can feel the engine doing its thing based on different levels of the throttle, the goal is for it not to vibrate too much because thats an indicator of the amount of power/acceleration the engine is giving, and how much its draining the battery. This bike and motor does not require you to pull the throttle all the way to achieve the max speeds. Riders keep this noted. :) -- Floridian Bolt Pro Rider
I noticed that too! Just curious, what is your weight? I wonder if this is more noticeable for heavy riders vs lighter riders. I assume even less throttle is needed to get a lighter rider to full speed. Just like an electric or gas car, the acceleration is what kills the milage, not necessarily the speed (wind notwithstanding). Thanks for watching and the comment as well, I appreciate it!
@@leetjohnson I'm between 140-160lbs and absolutely, factors like weight, wind resistance (I wear a wind breaker), and hills will make a difference in your average distance. I try to switch between when and where i use the battery, if I'm expecting a hill I turn it off altogether just to save even more, those little habits start becoming period where you don't have to charge for days. I convinced my next door neighbor who weighs around 200+ to pick up one and those habits helped his distance as well. he generally charges every few days and he's a daily rider like I am.
Also the crank and chain ring on this bike is really small so you have to pedal gently to not overwork the motor (referring to my last post about that sweet spot/speed for battery) Jetson referred me to a nice 52T/42T chainring that makes pedaling even with dead battery a breeze.: www.amazon.com/DONSP1986-Crankset-Mountain-Bicycle-Chainring/dp/B088NC7P6L/ref=asc_df_B088NC7P6L/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475805715755&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9173246196956206525&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004156&hvtargid=pla-1161841539104&psc=1
My neighbor was moving and he bought it from the house and I asked him if he was going to sell it, he said he was so I said I would buy it for $ 200.00 he accepted cash. I haven't rode it yet. I adjusted the brakes, reflectors front and rear. I figured out the warning bell, thought it was broken but just push down on tab and release for one ding repeat repeat repeat. I rotated the handles for the brakes about 30 degree so they face more forward ( feels better for me). I checked the tires air. Seat feels right so I'm ready to test drive. So far I am impressed with ease of adjustment. Allen wrenches and two screwdrivers one medium standard and one medium Philips. Oh yeah he gave a nice air pump and the charger.
Sounds like a great deal! Remember, short press (1 second) on the button on the right will turn on the cruise control and a long press (3-4 seconds) will turn on the front headlight!
Thanks I plum forgot about cruse control blows me away how much they squeezed into such a small package and price. This had to have been mfg./ assembled off shore very labor intensive. I'm a plastics and new product consultant and one of my jobs, had to be made in the US because it was too simple.

Hi, my name is Rick. I live in Stockton California and I’ve bought me a Jetson bolt pro electric scooter. I bought used from the Facebook marketplace. I love to ride In the bike lanes. And at night time with the cars go. It’s very fun to ride. I love it. I do want to upgrade to a digital spirometer. And also get more range and speed from the bike. Thank you for sharing this video where I get to watch and see how fast and far you travel.
For reference, I'm doing about 40km (or 24 miles) with pedal assist, in real street settings with flat/hills and 200 pound rider. This e-bike is fun and stress free to pedal so I'm sure most people riding the Jetson will be pedaling at least a bit.
Thank you for sharing your results ~ I will definitely be pedaling a lot, in addition to occasionally needing the power each ride. So, from folks sharing their real life use, this model does seem to be the right choice for me for a first e-bike, and will be a perennial go-to model for around town errands or just joy riding on the wealth of paved trails we have here.
I just bought that bike today, on the advice of a friend from church who I guess knew I didn't have a bike already. I must have mentioned that in a previous conversation because he told me today that it was on sale for just one more day and that I should take advantage of the savings while I could. Even after tax, it came to just under $300! Not too shabby for somebody who just wants to get from point A to point B in a little less time than it takes to take the bus or if I don't want to have to worry about the bus schedule. My only apprehension is securing the bike while I'm in the store, at a hair appointment, or whatever.

If you have Jetson's warranty they can send you a replacement throttle under coverage or you can replace the bike with credit back for the cost of the bike. I've used the warranty myself and got a brand new bolt pro this way, they were really helpful given my situation at the time.

I'm in Detroit, just got a lectric 2.0 we have lots of bike lanes and great places to ride along the river including Belle isle.
Awesome! Those Lectric bikes look fun!!
I would love to see this with the use of mild peddle assist. Nothing crazy, just a smooth peddle :) love these little guys, got to ride one for a little at a campground...
I was thinking that too! I think I will make that video. Thanks for watching!!
Not bad for taking on vacations to get around. Cool thanks for the info big dog!

Picked one up from Costco. Easy up setup, but like someone else said, the wheels are small and you can fall if you hit a bump
Yeah, also don't lean back too much!!
I'm looking at purchasing one, that's one of my concerns, what has to be setup?
And is it light enough to carry up 2 flight of stairs?
@@MrTtaakk hopefully, you’ve already gotten your answer but just in case…
Yes.
@West McGee I purchased it, it's definitely easy to carry up 2 flight of stairs & easy setup.
So sorry for the late response...yes, it folds and carries well, especially compared to most other ebikes. Glad you got one and it worked out!
Burbank California. My cousin has lived near the water nearly all his life, but a bit north of you, in Santa Monica’s Ocean Park neighborhood (just a few blocks from world famous Venice beach).

Thx for your review. This is the way reviews should be done .good job.
Thank you so much!
-- Floridian Bolt Pro Rider
Aim for a constant speed of 10 mph and you're golden.
Also the crank and chain ring on this bike is really small so you have to pedal gently to not overwork the motor (referring to my last post about that sweet spot/speed for battery) Jetson referred me to a nice 52T/42T chainring that makes pedaling even with dead battery a breeze.:
www.amazon.com/DONSP1986-Crankset-Mountain-Bicycle-Chainring/dp/B088NC7P6L/ref=asc_df_B088NC7P6L/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475805715755&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9173246196956206525&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004156&hvtargid=pla-1161841539104&psc=1
Nice! Thank you for the link!
I ride to work and back on a Jetson scooter and just ordered this bike. Thanks for the review. I'm down in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Nice!!
How far do you ride this to work? I get mind Monday and am going to use it to go 9.4 miles to work, but plan on pedaling. I'm also 6'2, 230lbs
@@GymWorkFamily I got 3 miles each way with no need to charge. I get at least 10 miles not pedaling. I'm 5'8 and 155 pounds. I've gone over 14 miles pedaling with battery left over.
@@joeblow3206 thanks for the info! I'm looking to get somewhat of some extra calories burned through pedaling the whole 9.4 mile trip, is it a decent workout pedaling with the motor on? Ia there any sprt of resistance or leg burn if you pedal hard? Or is it zero resistance?
@@GymWorkFamily Slight resistance going up hill, but not much on the flat. It's a good workout going 9 plus miles, though.

@@leetjohnson 10:53 car/SUV goes from stationary to pulling out just as you approach with ebike happens far more often than I would expect. @@drtroyturner7464 Yeah. Unfortunately, it happens a lot. People often underestimate the speed of ebikes compared to regular ones as well.
Got one on Friday and I haven't stopped riding since (LOL!). The range is pretty ( 11 miles on throttle and still have 3 L.E.D's left. ) Got enough power to ride back home. Not very fast but it really doesn't have to be for me. A cruiser for sure!!!!

Thanks for watching!
For reference, I'm doing about 40km (or 24 miles) with pedal assist, in real street settings with flat/hills and 200 pound rider. This e-bike is fun and stress free to pedal so I'm sure most people riding the Jetson will be pedaling at least a bit.
Awesome, thank you for the feedback!
So the bike goes faster if you also pedal while using the throttle?
@@darinrasmussen5828 yes, it can, but only a few miles an hour faster and you will have to be pedaling like crazy due to the single gear.
@@darinrasmussen5828 pedaling mostly increases the range, especially if you pedal off the line rather than only using motor (as I did in this video).
In Houston. Ride it all the time and love it.
