I have the Jen to 2024 early version wired freedom and only have about 300 miles on it. I have a grinding sound coming from the motor and pedal assist mode to and higher sounding like a bearing going out. I spoke to wired, and they asked me to send an audio recording of the sound, so I did. They told me that sound is normal operation of the bike and it is the metal sandwich of the nylon gear in the motor. That doesn’t sound right to me though? Have you or anyone else experienced this issue?

Thanks for the information. I never had a full suspension bike before. I am waiting for my Wired Cruiser to come in. Wired has put full suspension on its Cruiser model.

*So with the pedal assist 5 were you pedaling at all? Because I want to see the range, same general terrain and weather yet without any pedaling (not even ghost pedaling unless maybe in an area where you need to, like a light turning red or by the fuzz or you know. I have pedaled some 67,000 miles in my life (or it equivalent on ATB's or like an actual 10,500 miles on a 3 speed Columbia Sports 3 and such) and while the bike is ok I'm 49, and I'm a cyclocross/road tourer, I would like a pedal motorcycle (like a class 5 but legally class 2 lol) especially for hauling groceries and stuff and I like you am 6'4" and weight 229 but figure on having a trailer at total 300 lbs or upto 250lbs on a special rack I will build because I might be one of those people you pass by, on the side of the road, you being in Cali and living in my van, I dont want to always have to break up camp maybe lose my spot, to get some food, pallets or dumpster crap. But really because I want know what he Wired can do and can't. and Not that I should.*

E-Cell are listed today for $1,999, they advertise PayPal for a option when checking out but not the case so I just placed a order with Wired for $1,999 plus $250 shipping to Cali using Paypal Credit 6 months 0% if paid off. As of now its saying delivery sometime late July

I'm going with the e cells, two-year warranty a lot of options I live in Nevada not too far from Pahrump so I can actually go there, I'm also 6 foot 5 and I need the 19 inch frame... Seems like wired as a good bike but all the reviews that I see are people that own it already.

C5 at 3 is what e cells recommends for their barely working torque sensor. The only way to make it work is to nerf it to a 750watt 48v bike by setting C5 to 3. Why buy a high power bike that is unusable at high power?

Try c5 = 2, full power but slower ramp up.

Interesting information about your C5 setting. I had already planned at limiting mine to 8, but I was surprised to where you had your set. Maybe I'll go down to 6 to start. My wife and I don't have a boat but we do have a couple of Hobie kayaks, and often take them out onto local lakes and off-shore into the Sound up here in Washington. Still waiting for my bike to arrive. I'm going crazy waiting. You and I are kindred spirits; as I also always seek out opportunities to give people a hand. Sometimes just taking a shopping cart back to the rack for an old couple can be a blessing. Stay safe down there; awesome video as usual.

Buyer beware wired does not sell any parts that means any parts but the battery in a few accessories. And there's a reason why they give you a nail polish bottle for the paint because the paint is crap no different than buying an e-bike off of Amazon from China

Thanks for taking us on your afternoon adventure, Lee. Love your videos. As a desert dweller I can appreciate the beauty of the lake. The gorgeous sunset was a nice freebee, too. People seem very friendly in your neck of the woods. The guy towing his boat with a Tesla made me do a double take. I can imagine that car getting too close to the water and the battery getting submerged. Not a good outcome.

The problem with lowering C5 is that you won't reach maximum speed. C5 on 4 gave me 31 mph max. C10 gives me 37 mph max (I'm 240 lb). But it's quite okay if you don't need to go that fast. I just couldn't understand why I could not reach the speeds I was seeing in these videos. I finally understood. 😂

I can't find this information any where. Does the Wired Freedom come with double wall rims?

I owned both bikes wired freedom 2024 and ecells 5 star and I liked the freedom more for pedaling and it's more ergonomical the battery seems to have more range but after a certain amount of charges the range goes down ecells is overall better faster and more powerful I think the customer service is lacking for both companies but ecells offers way more for warranty, i think they both have advantages and i would buy wired freedom again its a bikers bike ecells is fast like a Porsche i dont like the pedaling wired got them on that

I own the 5STAR bike, and while it offers good performance, it has several issues. There is a persistent rattling noise, possibly coming from the kickstand. Additionally, the shipping process seems unreliable, and the motor is noisy. I received several damaged items, and the drivetrain and chain frequently malfunction. The bike is also quite heavy, and the seat stem has an unusual width. However, it does have a better frame and rear suspension than the wired model, and there are various customization options available. Unfortunately, the torque sensor does not function as expected. The most significant problem is the company itself. The owner's behavior is concerning - he has a history of legal issues a convict and questionable conduct, and there are serious allegations against him. Dealing with the company can be challenging. Considering all of this, I am hesitant to purchase another bike from this company, and I would advise potential buyers to be cautious.

About over amping motors. if you want a motor to last. Don't😊

Comparing both bikes at the moment. A big shocker was Ecells $300 "tariff" fee if you want to add any upgrades! I priced it with the $500 fork/extra battery/bigger headlight option, a better rear shock, and gold wheels and it was over $3K.

Check your front Cup and Cone bearings as I did.I was shocked to see the pre load over tightened and very little grease in the cups.Also there is one less ball bearing on the side of the brake rotor and the cups are the same size on each side.Called the company and they said they will have to check on this.There is room for another ball but maybe there is a reason for this,All the cup and cone bearings I seen,All the balls are snug with little room between them.

200 Miles isn't much of a long term review. I'd give it a Year or 2000 Miles. I'd like to know how these bikes hold up over time in regular use.

Great reviews and info. I've got the Freedom on order for end of June but would appreciate your thoughts on the Freesky Warrior dual 1000w motors. This is my first ebike and wonder if AWD would be more fun for on & off road biking?

First off thanks for your honest perspectives on these bikes. While both companies make what looks like very similar bikes, I ordered the Wired Cruiser because I wanted a step thru this time and the Wired seemed like the best deal. I also prefer the look of the Wired. My only reservation was not the shipping cost to receive the bike but the idea that if there are any warranty issues, I will have to pay for the shipping on those as well. I understand they are not a large company that can eat the cost of shipping like a big box or large on line retailer, it is just something I hope I will not have to do. I must admit though, that I made my decision on my purchase before seeing the post by the Ecells owner here or anything about his past but what did put me off is their need on their web site to inform me of their religious views. I do not care to know what someones religion is or what their beliefs are and if they feel the need to tell me, I tend to go the other way, to each his own.

Said screw it and snagged a base 5 star while it’s still in stock. I don’t care about customizing at this point in the year especially with this tariff. Better deals will be available next year or the one after like always. A base 5 Star is an amazing bike for $1900… Bought a Wired cruiser and that too is an amazing ride but did take $2250 out of my wallet last year and I do think this 5 Star is much better than my 23 Cruiser.
