@jcolt84 hmmm, that's interesting. I know Wired uses 3amp chargers for the old and new versions....I would think it should be fine to use 5amp, if the plug fits, however, this could theoretically void your warranty and will shorten the lifespan of the battery, as faster charging wears the battery out quicker.

This has a 40amp controller and is programmable l, which allows you to modify the power output in multiple ways. It could be a setting on your controller, if it is programmable. Full throttle should allow for max output, depending on the settings.
@Easy416 right on! You can try a hill, if you can find any around where you live....it might push it to 2,200....that's about the most I've seen on my Wired Freedom.
wired should have an option for preinstalled tannus armour. would be a waste to have to switch out the innertubes and to have to order that separately.
Exactly! The motor is only rated for 1,500 watts continuous and 2,200 watts peak, so it might cut out or overheat in that theoretical scenario, but you are absolutely correct!
The new controller is 45 amps. That is correct, so....at a full charge (67volts) X (45amps) = 3,015 watts. Supposedly, the new upgraded motor has a theoretical max new peak voltage of 3,200 watts.
@leetjohnson so this original controller says on it it can do +- 2amps. Does that mean it's peak is 42 amps x 67 = 2814 watts? So 386 watts less than the peak of the new one right?
@maximumchargeEV I think that is correct. But, I'm sure the new one will have a +/- 2 amps also, probably due to manufacturing variations during production. I saw that Citizen Cycle here on RUclips was able to get around 3,200 maybe even a but more on the new prototype version of this bike.

There are a lot of variables for thr top speed and distance (terrain, rider weight, pedal assist level/throttle vs pedaling, etc). I'd say probably 24 to 28mph and a range of around 20 to 30 miles on those stats at a medium pedal assist level and 180lb rider.
You would need to be able to output at least 200 watts continuously....but the battery size would need to have at least 1200 watt hours of capacity...and that's only one charge, not accounting for thermal loss and inefficiencies from the inverter. Realistically, a 1500 to 2000 watt hour unit would be ideal...but honestly, a second battery for the bike is the ideal solution, carried in a backpack (that's what I have done with other ebikes).

@alanmeasures8337 Hello! The amperage of the controller can vary, but theoretically, at 48v ÷ 1,000watts would be about 20amps peak and about 15 amps continuous. The maximum speed can be up to 28mph, unless it is speed controlled to 20mph to be legally class 2. As far as distance, it depends on the rider weight, terrain (hills or flat) and how much power (power level) is used. I would guess a 200lb rider on relatively flat ground would go about 20 miles or so of range at a middle power setting....up to 25 miles on the lowest power setting and as low as 15 miles at full power. Just my best guess though. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions!!
@@leetjohnson Thanks... ok I kinda understand... Wired Freedom controller is not voltage rated but Amperage rated (40A). Its cutoff is set for a 60v battery so a 48v battery would cut off early. @lonestartex1 it may be possible to set the voltage to 48v for the controller. Then it would work just fine, but the power output would be reduced, obviously. Were you thinking of using it as an additional battery option for the bike?

I wonder if they are actually using a 50 Amp controller on the new bikes. At 67 volts times 50 amps, minus the motors ability, 100-200 watts difference, it then makes the math work out.

Awesome! Let me check those measurements....
So there are 4 main logos on the bike...two of them are soft wraps with velcro (like wetsuit material) one is for the front cables by the handlebars and the chain stay one (opposite side of the kickstand)....the lettering on both is 8 inches by 1.5 inches.
There is a small logo on the rear fork by the kickstand, and it is 3.5 inches long by 1/2 an inch tall. The last one is a big logo, on the frame of the bike next to the battery, and it is 10 inches by 1.5 inches. There are no logos on the actual battery itself. Hope this helps!
Awesome man!!! Helps so much thanks!!! 👍🏼

I just want to put a sticker over the WIRED logo (FASHO) 😎 I’m so excited I should be getting my freedom any day now, couple weeks but this month, I’m so excited!!! Thanks for the info 👍🏼
About to purchase my new wired freedom cruiser! I’m so excited for it I didn’t even realize how major they upgraded that thing right after the ‘24 model released late last year which is really crazy
I know, right?? Such a great value!! If you use the link in this video description box, it really helps out this channel, and I would greatly appreciate it!!
@@leetjohnson sounds good! So basically from the 2024 wired you got 80 miles from it low settings right?
@@CNclov2005 72, but yes, basically. Should be able to get well over 100 miles, probably more, with the new dual battery version!
@@leetjohnson yes that’s so awesome! I saw your video the other day and it was breathtaking! Did you ever use throttle on that range test or just pedal?
@@CNclov2005 just pedaling, no throttle.
Ohms law
Yep
The new Wired contoller peaks at almost 50 amps. 50x67 is 3350 watts. I think they have hit the limit for a 60v system and are now limited by the individual battery cell max discharge rate. The new Wired controller can also be fully reprogrammed and re flashed with a usb dongle for future updates. The old KT controller only puts out 2400 watts and with voltage sag and motor inefficiencies you only get 2200 watts peak. Jail Cells special ordered gel filled KT controllers and are now stuck trying to compete. It’s like bringing a knife to a gunfight. The difference between the two bikes is as great or greater than the difference between the original Wired Freedom and the Kepler. But wait, there’s more. Steve got mad at me when I leaked some details about these bikes, so I will say this carefully…you are not going to believe what is dropping next. As a bike reviewer, you are going to want to stay in Wired’s good graces. Let’s just say with the next bike, it’s not about profit, but principle.
Thanks for the details!!!!
I'd like to know more, as everyone would. I hope to hear about it soon. As of right now, I am leaning towards an Ecells triple crown or a kings crown.
Yup, 48.
Ecells 5 star is better
It definitely could be, I've never ridden one. What makes it better in your opinion?
@@leetjohnson a few extra features, potted controller, front basket mounts, water bottle holder mounts, the shop also has a lot of custom options, very good customer support no tax or shipping fees plus lifetime warranty on the very strong frame.
@MrDeath-zu3ll I definitely agree they have more options available for customization and the no tax and free shipping is awesome! This new Wired Freedom does have a 45amp potted controller and a 3,200 watt peak motor. They are definitely battling for the top spot! I think they are both awesome choices for the money. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!
@@MrDeath1988 The new Wired 2024 comes with a potted controller...
