Just thought I’d check if I was in the First Two: Stanley Yelnats (Stanley spelled backwards) was a character in the novel Holes, by Louis Sachar & portrayed by Shia LaBeouf in the movie adaptation. I taught this story to a group of 9yr olds, as part of a Reading Recovery program, years ago. Hopefully the Gemini doesn’t turn into Camp Green Lake for you both & you keep away from the shoes. Loving the content. Kia Kaha, Grant from NZ.
Ahhh... Rust! how I love (NOT) that Rabbit hole that you tumble down. But you're right about doing just enough to get it done, as you could spend days sorting it all out. One more day closer to getting her back out on the Road. 👍
You can buy a hinge removal tool and new hinge pins at shop.....put new pan in screw or cleco to the floor cut through both pieces 1mm blade perfect fit perfect weld line flat no bits to hold water
Maybe the reason for it being hard to start, did you switch the summer/winter over on the carbi, and yeah Gemini doors are so hard to remove because all of the electrics and wiring involved, and I agree with you on no one is gunna see the welds once painted and the carpet is in, great video men, and yes its bloody cold
Ah yes, bodywork. One of the most time consuming aspects when restoring, or maintaining, a vehicle. If I'd known you were doing this I coulda popped around and shown you a few tricks for making things go a bit quicker. Either way, you ended up with a solid repair for another 40yrs of service 😉
@@HackshopGarage that's good news. I have an hr that has much worse rust in the rear floors than the front I thought it was from sitting in the weeds for 30 years but seems to be from a leaky plenum. The joys of old cars 🚗 😐
Bite off more than you can chew, then chew like hell boys. Takes me back. In 25 years you will be watching young guys and girls doing the same to cars driven today.
Use tech screws to hold the panel down while you weld.

Loving the series lads me and dad wacth every we are booth loving the attack on doing stuff you have never before
"oooooohhhhh I've just gaped out that hole" Not what I expected from a Hackshop episode if I'm honest Nate :D
I usually like to call holes in the floor "Yabba Dabba Do" mode enabled. Turned out great 👍
Good job guys.
Don't just wire wheel & seam seal underneath. You HAVE to weld underneath as well! Proper lap weld as you may not get a RWC without it.
So now it's Nathan's side and my side 🤣

Stanley Yelnats, I remember the name from the book Holes I read as a kid.
Nathan freezing, hopes it won't be 4 degrees next video. Also Nathan, "should I wear pants today? Nah, it's still shorts weather"
Invest in a door pin puller guys
Where the gearbox mount was, did you scallop the metal or potato cake it? lol

Random question, what is the height of your shed?
3.0m at the walls and the peak is 4.2m above the hoist
Is that rusted from the inside out, maybe a water leak?
Yep I agree! Hate to say this lads but I reckon there could be rust holes in the plenum. Worth checking it out before you go putting carpet in
Cheers
Yeah old Holdens after rain you used to knock a hole in the floor with a screw driver to drain the water out.

hi again fellas. is that rust from a leaky plenum or leaky door seals?
Hey mate, it doesn’t seem to be from the plenum, we think maybe the front window seal or door seals

Here's a funny little test how times in a row can you say floor pans before it doesn't like floor pans
Any self-respecting teenager who owned a gem in the 90s would have had an undercut just like Nathan's 💇
The only way to go is up …
Can't you sent to me that pan...i need too..
Guys, pff commodores n gemis are the easiest doors to remove and refit. Pop pin out pliers n hammer. 😆
Nice one lads. No close ups, eh....Good idea. Too many pro welder internet troll's out there.
