I’m African and the first time I tasted Pico de gallo was at Applebees restaurant and immediately fell in love with it so I had to come find the recipe to try at home. I love how simple yours looks like and feel like going to the store right now to get the ingredients for this. Thank you 🙏
I live here in the states and never heard of Pico till my early 20s I worked at a golden corral.. my co workers were mexican ladies and I said that looks like the flag.. tried it and loved it! It just tastes fresh! So good!
I came to a realisation today while eating Mexican food. Pico de gallo, guacamole and margarita are the holy trinity of flavour. All 3 of them flavours just compliment each other.
Uh,....."Cilantro taste like soap?" I can't relate to that either. I love cilantro! I almost feel sorry for anyone who doesn't like cilantro! Anyway, thanks a million for sharing thsi recipe. I've always loved and still love Pico de Gallo!
I used to be on of the people who tasted soap in cilantro. But so may recipes that I wanted to make had it. I read that you can reprogram your brain by trying small amounts then slowly increase. Today, I LOVE cilantro! It is one of my all time favorite things and I used to hate it. I encourage anyone who feels the same way to try this. You will open up an entire world of tastes.
You’ve made a Scotsman very happy with this recipe! I love cilantro so I put even more in, and had it with some shrimp cooked with paprika and seasoned flour in a soft shell taco (or the closest I could get to that here) and I’m not even kidding, this is my new favourite thing. I’ve already bought more ingredients to make more. I wish we had more exciting food like this in Scotland!
Same here! The first time I tasted cilantro was on vacation in Mexico and I couldn't get enough. I love making extra pico de gallo and using some of it for guacamole, just add minced garlic and lime and you get basically 2 for 1 recipes. I like my pico de gallo really oniony, especially now in March when it's hard to get great tomatoes. I can't wait to try red onion. In the summer I grow habanero and I love the unique flavor, they can be deveined too to cut down on the heat.
Love it! Another great tip is to rinse your cut onion in cold water and drain well before adding to the other ingredients. This is even more important when using white onion. This is common in Mexico and can make a big difference as it reduces the sulfiric acid compounds. Thanks for the video and cheers!!!
I made version one with fresh tomatoes and jalapeño from my garden. It was so refreshing. Thank you for your excellent recipes and clear demonstrations.
I made your Pico last night and it is SO DELICIOUS!!!! It is by far, better than restaurant. I love how simple your recipe is and packed with so much fresh flavors!!! Thank you Rosanna!!
❤ I just found your blog while surfing for Carne recipes...oh , my goodness , beautiful food ! Beautiful presentations...my family will be so grateful that I found you...gotcha on my tablet , can't wait to get started one by one to the great taste of your culture...BLESS YOUR HEART ♥
I worked with a guy that would make such a large batch of pico that it would almost fill a one gallon ziplock bag. He would eat it by the cereal bowl as a snack....that’s how I learned to make it. The salt would pull a lot of water out of the veggies after a while and he would pour all that water off. Yours looks beautiful and cut into perfect sizes, thanks pretty lady! Your videos are the best!
I made the Pico with cabbage last night, and this morning I toasted a couple pieces of bread with avocado, drizzled some olive oil on top then added the Pico. OMG so very good thank you for your recipes and keep up the good work. PEACE
Whoever says cilantro taste like soap, needs to get their taste buds worked on! Cilantro is a must for anything mexican cuisine. Cilantro makes everything better, it is a superpower herb! Such a simple recipe, yet one of the most refreshing taste your taste buds will ever experience. Its truly amazing.
I spent the last year of my life learning how to cook Mexican traditional food and I really fell in love with your Channel want to thank you for letting me tag along on your journey. I followed several Mexican Cook's that are fabulous and I'm really looking forward to discovering your Channel
Excellent demonstration. I usually use firm cherry tomatoes because they have the best flavor year round. In addition to the 1 tsp of salt I add I tsp of sugar for balance and I rinse the chopped white onions to remove sulphur fumes. ¡Buen Provecho!
Just got your video in my feed. Already addicted. Clicked the notification bell. Ding ding ! I feel like coming over to have a snack. Will watch all your videos.
This looked fantastic. Both of them. Just wow! Your beautiful personality really livens up your presentation. Your husband and you look like good people. God bless all here.
I grew cilantro a few years back, I love the smell. I took the seeds and placed them in a small bowl in my house, just to smell the fresh cilantro smell! I also dropped a few seeds into a drawer I stored kitchen items (linen) in! It smells so good!
I thought cilantro tasted like soap until I hit my mid-20’s and have loved it since then! I love it in salads, wraps, salsas. More cilantro is better in my opinion! 😊
I have to honestly say the second pico de gallo is amazing I tweaked it to my liking of course I used everything shown in the video except I used 3 whole habaneros diced seeds and all lol😂 I had to use two small avocados a decent splash of lime juice and the secret ingredient a little splash of Blanco tequila finished off with a generous amount of salt and pepper let sit in the fridge for 30-45 mins and omg flavors were insane ❤ thanks for this
@@VillaCocina Got the ingredients, chopped up my items, put them together as you did and OMG!... IT WAS FANTASTIC. Better than the one I buy at the store. Hello I watched Arnietex put this on a recipe he made. So I searched RUclips for a recipe and found you. I’m so happy I did. I must say both types look fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of your video. It looks like a delicious fresh summertime side to enjoy at the picnic table. I would like to say your kitchen, you, your cleanliness and ladylike eating habits are all very beautiful and appealing to watch. I also like when you pronounce certain words with natural Spanish so I know how to say them. Fantastic camera work as well. You definitely have earned my subscription after watching you for the very first time. I look forward to seeing your other recipes. Thank you so much. God Bless. Carl, Northern Wisconsin
Thank you for sharing your recipe! I am going to incorporate pics into our next meal plan, using your recipe( it reminds me of our favorite hometown resteraunts pick, which is out of this world! My hubby is going to love me after tomorrow nights dinner!
It's a type of disorder recognized when cilantro taste like soap. I'm so glad I don't have that issue. Habaneros are fruity and delicious. Love your content. Cheers from south tx.
Ironically I’ve heard that 10% of people taste soap when they eat cilantro. I myself love it. You do a great job on your videos, I so enjoy watching them. Happy New Year♥️
Thank you. I made the traditional one and it's the best pico I've ever had. I added grounded ancho chilies, learned about these from your fajita video, and it was even better. Thanks. P.S. I tried putting some cubed mozzarella in it and it was better without it.
Both recipes look really good, I can't wait to try to make at home. I add a cucumber to mine with jalapenos. I cut the stems off and peel it with a potato peeler then dice it but i prefer it with something spicy to balance it out
Hi Rossana. No garlic? I make both the same way but add 1-2 garlic cloves (pressed) and just a bit of olive oil. I had a huge garden when I lived in Baja and the family made it all the time. Good job. Love the channel.
I was drooling! Beautiful! I just recently found your channel, and you are quickly becoming my favorite RUclips cooking channel!! I like to throw more heat in mine, but for most people the amounts you used is perfect; and regardless as to one's heat preference I am sure yours is wonderful - to me flavor always outweighs heat. I love it if I can get (or make) pico de gallo (or other salsas or dishes) that balance the wonderful flavor with a lot of heat, but often hotter salsas miss that balance. Adding something sweet like a diced green apple, or creamy like your avocado can offset more peppers and maintain the beautiful balance of flavor when adding a lot more Serranos or Habaneros!
Wow this looks delicious!! I love habaneros! I love it hot I love it spicy I love authentic Mexican food! I was hoping you’d show more videos with habaneros!😎✌🏻

I LOOOVE cilantro!

It's so weird how some people think cilantro tastes like soap! I love it so much!
It's a genetic thing. It _does_ taste like soap to us.
A lot of people say that cilantro tastes like soap. I don't get it.
@@user-pl1hz8pu1p It's a genetic difference, presumably whatever you're tasting isn't close to soap at all.
