    • @samanthamatchett9623
      @samanthamatchett9623 6 лет назад +32

      Crazy Hondamom 99% sure it wouldn't have talc in it or at least not enough to cause anything, but if we're gonna worry about cancer from products or using something then we better stay away from everything and everyone. Most foods, drinks, products, bath stuff, household products, everything is said to cause cancer at some point!

    It is quite good that you have such oily skin. (As terrible as that may sound, but bear with me) I don't know if you know this already, but people with oily skin tend to look younger because the oils moisturize their skin. Granted, those with severely oily skin would have to work hard to manage it, but it is always good to let the oils have some time to maintain the skin, while they are not wearing any make up. I have combination skin that is very fickle. It can easily get dry so I have to be careful when drying my face and not use powerful, acne-fighting lotions. But also it can get fairly shiny. So once in a while, especially during those dry days, I would just let my oils build up a bit through the day and let my skin gat naturally moisturized. :) It really works well for me.

    • @jcjccmz
      @jcjccmz 8 лет назад +11

      Just to add some food for thought though, I'd like to add that it can be a little cakey and that the packaging is incredibly cheap. The top does not screw but slides on and off, so you cannot secure it closed. And there is no mirror. It is also not the same size as a lot of circular pressed powders so it cannot be depotted and transferred into a standard round pressed powder compact with mirror, like MAC's or other nicer ones for taking it on the go, which is a must for me with my incredibly oily skin.

    the NYX blotting powder is AMAZING for touch ups on oily skin
    the NYX HD translucent powder is also good for oily skin

      I've been using the NYX HD loose powder for a while and it works pretty well I think. I wanted the LM powder but couldn't justify the price. I never realized it has 5× the amount as the NYX one! When I saw your comment I checked the prices and did the math. Lo and behold you are correct! Thanks for that. Maybe once I finish this powder I'll make the switch.

    • @katyisgone
      @katyisgone 8 лет назад +2

      yay! i'm glad to have helped. i'm loving the LM powder so far and funnily enough i use way less of it than the NYX because the packaging is much better and i don't use as much product; so actually it is cheaper in the long run :)

    I've recently been loving a combination of the Coty & NYC powders. (I'm one of the weird ones who actually likes the smell of the Coty Airspun powder. It reminds me of something, but I haven't figured out what that is yet.) I've found that I like loose powders on my skin so much more than pressed powders. After applying my sunscreen, I load my face up with the NYC power. I really press it into the skin with a puff. After that that, I buff in my powder foundation and any other powders. I finish with a misting of water. The NYC powder is still going strong. To make it less messy, I cut away a portion of the sticker seal which helps block too much powder from going through the sifter.

      ***** What about the loose powder? The sifter comes sealed with a sticker. If you cut away a portion of the sticker to only expose a few holes, the powder becomes much less messy to work with. Is that what you meant? :)

    I've used the NYC translucent powder for almost 3 years now and I'm so glad it got your approval too! I think it's the best drug store loose powder hands down. so much product for only $4 and it doesn't cause a white cast and you don't need to touch up at all. a lot of people are mentioning the rimmel stay matte powder. I used that one for about a year, and it's not a bad powder imo, but personally for me it wouldn't stay matte very long. it would go 4-6 hours for me, and I have normal-combination skin. so if you don't mind touch ups I think it's good and it's compact.

      +Sandy Robidoux if you're dry I wouldn't get the RCMA. like the Laura Mercier transparent setting powder it contains a lot of talc which I find very drying especially on the under eye. HD powders with silica and no talc work well for dry skin. also bare minerals mineral veil. or if you can splurge, the by terry HA powder.

      I don't think it is per say. It is named NYC smooth skin loose face powder. I noticed that it takes the shine off your face but not cakey or dry looking. I originally bought it to set Halloween makeup on my kids but it turned out to be a great long lasting cheap translucent powder. Best surprise I wasn't expecting honestly, usually you get what you pay for.

      Natascha Valkenhoff You don't sound cheap at all, I have at times let shipping keep me from ordering haha, I think it's some sort of mind game we play with our selves, but you get inky points, thats a bonus and if I'm right after so many orders you get a free pair of lashes, plus if your new you get 10%off your 1st order, so many more benefits than with other companies.

    I also have oily skin and my favorite loose powder is physician formula talc free in creamy natural it claims to have 16 hour wear airbrush finish with a kabuki brush included. Hey Zabrena, I'm oily on certain parts of my face and I've been watching you for a while so I had an idea. I think you should do a video where you take the concealers, foundations, primers, powders and setting sprays that make you completely matte and see if they all work together to create a perfectly matte face, or what matte products that worked the best work together to create a matte face the best. I love your channel so much!!

    I recently subscribed to your channel and absolutely love your videos. You give such great advice, tips etc. I also love how honest you are when giving your reviews on makeup products and you do it in such a great manner without bashing the brand. And I love how you said in this video just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you. Cause that is so true. I can't stand when some other RUclipsrs bash brands just because a product didn't work for them and always say "I do not recommend this, do not buy this, etc" and basically push us to take their opinion and stay away from it. Because every product works differently on others. We all have different skin types, eye shapes and so on. There's a lot of products I loved that others didn't and products I disliked that others loved. You're also so down to earth and a beautiful person inside and out. I am also a redhead and love how you are too. Not sure if you have done so yet but can you possibly make a video on best makeup products and tips for redheads. That would be awesome. I am also very fair with freckles and blue eyes and would love to see a video for that, especially for brows, since sometimes when I fill my brows in the color doesn't seem to match me too well. Anyways sorry for the long comment haha. Love your videos and so glad I subscribed. I binged watched your videos this morning and learned a lot of cool new things to try. You rock! 😃

    Oh I just bought the essence powder, since I thought they were cruelty free and heard such good things about it :/ Honestly, I hated the coty air spun. The fragrance didn't bother me but it made my foundation look weird...like it gave it a peachy color. Since I'm warm toned it just looked bad. I may have to check out the Styli-Style one. Great review!

      You could try the CoverGirl Advanced Radiance Age Defying Pressed Powder and also the CoverGirl Tru Blend Pressed Powder. Both are suitable for dry skin and won't look cakey.
