Vermina's quest is one of the quest where the dev's creativity really shines. Every part of the dungeon is so uniquely terrifying. I know people give Oblivion hard time for it's dungeons, but that one guy who worked on all the dungeons did a good job here.

Agreed, When done effectively you can do some eerie stuff in oblivion's engine.

I think that Oblivion has such dark, eerie, and foreboding dungeons, they're often tight, dusty corridors winding through the underground
They're definitely the most atmospheric, and whether there are enemies or not, living or reanimated, they all feel dead and desolate, none of them are inviting, and some are confusing or quite dangerous
I think they're some of the best dungeon designs in any game

Two things never fail to amuse me in TES:
    - The fact that mortals keep stealing stuff from Daedric Princes.
    - _The fact that mortals CAN steal from Daedric Princes to begin with. Their security arrangements kinda suck for such mighty "gods"._
Of course it's also highly likely that the smarter Daedra, especially the Princes, allow mortals to "steal" things from them to trick them, corrupt them and claim their souls.

Well that and his sense of style, and *the cheese.*

Tbf the deadra have limited influence in the material world and characters in lore are pretty damn powerful themselves, the player in Skyrim is considered nearly as powerful as clavicus vile this is even without knowing any dragon shouts and at the lowest level you can do the quest

    • @YourWaywardDestiny
      @YourWaywardDestiny 8 месяцев назад +8

I've said it before, and I'll say it to anyone who will listen: from the perspective of the Daedra, the mortals are the equivalent of the fae creatures. Otherworldly madness with rules that are hard to grasp (and ever shifting), motivations that don't make any sense, and audacity will over-ride all else in 1/10 of your encounters with them.

Daedric princes are like people who bait porch pirates with Amazon packages. Some want to prank you with a glitter bomb or something, while others are waiting with a shotgun on the other side of the door

Arkved's Tower is such a morbid and fascinating location to explore. It really gets one thinking what used to be part of the tower, and what was distorted by the nightmares of Vaermina seeping into the physical world. Oblivion always was amazing at world-building, and your latest video is yet another fantastic example of engaging story-telling, Dash.

Your storytelling videos are just so great ! But there is one thing you forgot to tell, in Arkved's Chamber, you forget to mention that there is two scrambled pieces of paper who reads in the first one : The horror... the horror... ; and the second one : "I shall lie here in the dark waiting for death." which is a direct reference to the novel Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad which was the main inspiration for the war movie Apocalypse Now ;)

this was always my fave quest, I didn’t know what to expect so I prepared for anything (foe-wise) and was still greatly surprised, truly it was like walking into a dream/nightmare. The craziest part was that on my first play-through I opened the door to Arkved’s room at the end and he was STANDING on his bed eyes closed. I just about screamed. I wasn’t aware it was a glitch either, I thought it was scripted. I was so freaked out. Yeah, this game will always be my all-time fave hands down

I have theory the nightmares we see in tower aren't from mages but their are ours. I always think hero of kvatch has ptst for all adventures they must to face, oblivion gate /dungeon aren't no joke and our hero must face them no stop.
No surprises we end like a crazy god

I never knew about the purpose of those necromancer coffins! Though I have seen them lighted up from the sky before, but I didn't know what was it supposed to mean.
Arkved's tower is a very curious place for sure. One of my most favorite areas in Oblivion probably and Skull of Corruption is a fun staff to have.

of all the daedric missions in oblivion, I've always liked Vermina's the best. it was the most intricate of them all, and the best detailed.
its homage to Alice in wonderland was always a really cool comparison.
I almost wish this mission was part of the shivering isles instead or somehow, due to its relation of what Alice goes through before officially getting to wonderland.
by the way, what mod do you use for the arrow-shot view? i have the FPV mod that shows the body (really cool) but i cant for the life of me, find the mod for the arrow view.
