Converting an EMU into Vande Bharat was indeed a masterstroke. We should have more such innovative projects at one third the cost.
All bullet ( HSR ) trains are actually EMUs ( very few loco hauled )

What masterstroke? It travels because it has line clearance. Even Shatabdi and Rajdhani or any LHB train can travel if it has clearance. Once 400 Vande Bharat trains are on track lets see how fast they can reach destinations.

Everyone is so obsessed to be the fastest. But you pay exponentially more for diminishing returns on speed. That’s why i think this train is a brilliant project. More projects run in this way would benefit many people in this world, rather than the most cutting edge.

Ya, it's not fast by Western standard. But it can go upto 200 kmph (tested upto 180 kmph). Unfortunately, the pway infrastructure is not suitable to handle such speed.
