    Florence Griffith Joyner was the most spectacular runner I have ever seen, and I am not young. She, with Bolt, were born to run electrifyingly fast. I do not think she used steroids. Nearly every video, or photo, shows her with the same incredibly athletic physique over many years. It is sad she died so young with a young daughter. She was a shining meteor for sure. RIP, Flo Jo. FloJo should be respected not just as a deceased but a legend who worked hard to top her game from an early age. Marion Jones claimed that no one could break FloJo's 10.49 record unless they were on drugs, yet she used drugs and never did! A statement from FloJo and her husband, Al Joyner:
      “I know exactly what people say about me,” he said. "And that's just not true." I don't need to use drugs. If they want, they can come for testing every week of the year. I have nothing to hide." Her husband says all the talk boils down to jealousy. He said his wife's astonishing gains are the result of being "trained as a man." He added: “We bought a $150 leg exerciser and he did leg rolls every night. Over 20 pounds every night to add strength to your legs. He worked 12 hours a day.”
      Only those who have nothing to hide say so.
      Do 12 hours of leg training a day for months and you'll set the world record👍💪👍

      Henry Johnson. She improved her personal record by almost a full half second in one year, at 28 years old. That's not possible. She noticeably gained muscle and her voiced deepened as well. Of course she doped.

    • @henryjohnson1505
      @henryjohnson1505 6 лет назад +16

      bwink23: It is called hard work and dedication. Anything is possible when you are dealing with the mind and the human body. I have studied great sprinters from Jesse Owens to Usain bolt. When Michael Johnson ran 19.32 seconds in the 200 meters in the finals at the Olympics. The experts had predicted such a time in the year 2020. Prior to that historic race in Atlanta, Johnson was not running no where near that time. However, if you factor in the right competition, on the right day, paired with the right person, and humans can do the unbelievable. Read about Roger Banister, Bob Beamon, Jesse Owens, and even Quincy Watts. These athletes were able to do the impossible when they competed. So my friend, when you say it's impossible for her to shave off a half a second in a year. I have to respectfully disagree. Why? Because whose to say that the times Flo Jo ran before was a true reflection of her highest potential at that time. Great coaches can identify minor flaws in an athletes performance that will help improve the way that they compete. I read about quarter milers going from 49 and 50 seconds to running world class times in one season. It happens.

    After her death in 1998, Prince Alexandre de Merode, the Chairman of the International Olympic Committee's medical commission, claimed that Joyner was singled out for extra, rigorous drug testing during the 1988 Olympic Games because of rumors of steroid use. De Merode told The New York Times that Manfred Donike, who was at that time considered to be the foremost expert on drugs and sports, failed to discover any banned substances during that testing.[54] De Merode later said:
    "We performed all possible and imaginable analyses on her. We never found anything. There should not be the slightest suspicion."[55]

      Flo Jo started winning races against athletes who use to beat her easily at college level track meets this is unheard of in short sprint races ( e.g less than 200 m). As a former sprinter, I can tell you that she probably used performance enhancer called Growth hormones...athletes today like to use GH because it can't be detected in any urine or blood test given at track meets even the Olympics. The growth hormones do have similar side effects such as cardiac arrest.

      What a load of bull. She won the Silver medal in the 200 meters in the 1984 Olympics. She only ran part time from 1985-87. She supported her family by working at a bank. In 1987 she returned to track full-time and finished second in the 200 meters at the World Championships. IN 1988 she was working out 5 days a week. She set numerous personal records in the 100 meters.

    RIP Flo Jo I don't care what no one on the planet earth says,no one can ever take away the gift and track records you broke and set ,when you were alive and living.I love you and I miss you,whenever I see old videos of you doing your thing while running so fast,it breaks my heart knowing that you are no longer here and tears run down my face.God bless your family,you will never ,ever be forgotten,I am one of many that you touched,with your beauty,grace and style of running,what's hurts me the most ,is that you truly died too young.

    I truly idolized this woman I watch her videos constantly
    She represents what a real woman was
    What a real athlete was
    It helped me
    I lived an abusive childhood
    I was beaten unconscious and worse yet watched my brothers who were smaller take worse and my sister's I can't even talk about my sisters
    But in my senior year I was aloud to run track
    I had never ran didn't know how to use blocks jump the gun constantly
    But when I did get to run I ran a 10.6 100m I was put in every event and moved around the whole time it was not Carl Lewis is was not Ben Johnson my mother was very I'll this the abuse but she was a great inspiration so it was FloJo that inspired me to be as fast as possible
    I joined military at 17 to escape and never ran sprints again but I always thought I could have been great Thank You FloJo and say hi to my Momma you both kept me alive

    • @TaiAkinz
      @TaiAkinz 3 года назад

      Dominated? Most top athletes excel in highschool. In 84 Flo Jo won a silver medal. In 87 her times were good but not extraordinary. In 88 she runs faster than any woman (the world record time in Indianapolis was most likely wind assisted as the wind gage malfunctioned). And then she retires at her apparent "peak" at the age of 29? You have no doubts that Flo Jo could have been doping like most of the athletes in the 80's let alone the 88 Olympics?
      Marion Jones never tested for peds and she ran close to Flo's 100m time in 1998. In 07 Jones admitted to the world that she had been doping

      Flo-Jo worked in bank some time ! If she worked with Al Joyner from 84-92 her times would be insane and her gold medals would be impresive ! But that never happened, she is still best ever women that step on track by far! Her WR are unbeaten over 30 years on 100 & 200 m!
