    And what if the shifted Merlin leaves play - as in gets banished - will you get lore then?

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +1

      You won't because the Goat ''lost'' its effect when shift was done. Only the card at the top of the stack has effects :)

    • @RegaliaKeyboards
      @RegaliaKeyboards 5 месяцев назад +1

      Nope, because the bottom card is no longer having an effect. The text on the bottom card is basically ignored in this scenario

    Question on merlin part. What if the shifted merlin is send to discard? The goat will be send to. Does it trigger then?

    If Simba banishes a character and dies does his ability still trigger and he draws a card

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, Simba's effect will still resolve even if he gets banished :)

    muses sings you’re welcome on itself. does muses effect still work to bounce a character?

    • @RegaliaKeyboards
      @RegaliaKeyboards 5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, The Muses will trigger their ability. This is because to Play a song (or any card for that matter) is to declare what you are playing, reveal it, and pay its cost. Now The Muses is like "Hold up, you played a Song. Let me throw my ability in this neat bag here so that we don't forget about it once this song is resolved". So then you resolve the song, which you then make your choice to have The Muses shuffled in and you draw your two cards form that. Then, The Muses ability is still in the bag and needs to be resolved, so you resolve that ability. The Muses does not still need to be on the field in order for the ability to resolve in this case, so you choose a 2 strength or less character to return to their owners hand.

    Does Pete Games Referee also block songs?

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, he does because songs are also actions :)

    • @RegaliaKeyboards
      @RegaliaKeyboards 5 месяцев назад

      All songs are actions. Not all actions are songs. So yes, something that specifies an action refers to songs, since songs are a type of action.

      No, he only gets the buff for your turn because that's when the check occurs (start of your turn) and lasts ''this turn''.

    I have a follow-up question regarding the Taffyta rule. Until some seconds ago (before I watched your video) I was of the impression, that Taffyta never arrives at a location, if she moves using Sugar Rush Speedway - Starting Line and reduces her health to 0 in using the On Your Marks! Ability.
    Now that I know that she moves to the location, before she is banished, I wanted to ask, when does a triggered ability move to the bag and can she use her ability New Roster, even if she isn't at the new location any more at resolution? Especially as being at the location is not a secondary condition, as far as I understand...
    thanks in beforehand for clarifying :) I appreciate your videos a lot, even though I just recently stumbled upon them.

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hey there :)
      If I got this correctly, and I might be wrong on it, I think that Taffyta gets banished before her ability triggers.
      1.9.2 A game state check is made at the end of every step, after any action or ability is finished resolving, and after each effect in the bag is finished resolving.
      1.9.4. Abilities that trigger as a result of a game state check are added to the bag as soon as the check and any required actions are fully completed.
      1.9.5. If multiple required actions would happen at once, a single combined required action takes place, and all of the required actions happen simultaneously.
      So, by that logic, I would say that she first takes the damage and moves to a new location. The game state check occurs and she is banished. However, because she moved locations, you'd get lore from her New Roster ability, which only requires her to move locations.
      I might be wrong but I think that's how it works.
      Also, thanks for the support :D

    6:21 how about if you bounce a shifter Merlin/goat-- since both go to ur hand- so you gain 1 lore? Also what if someone hades a shifted Merlin/goat
    Thanks in advance,
    Ps, I would think you do gain it, but would like to know from rules stand point

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +1

      You don't get any lore because the Goat Merlin loses its abilities on Shift. Only the top card on the stack has abilities :)
      I'll try to find some exact rulings from the rulebook for the next video so that players can find and show the exact wording if they ever need to.

    When shifted merlin gets banished, do i get the lore then? Since it was "in play"?

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +1

      No, because Goat no longer has the ability. When you shift, only the card on the top of the stack has an ability :)

    • @RegaliaKeyboards
      @RegaliaKeyboards 5 месяцев назад +1

      Nope, because the goat no longer has any ability (this is the same for any of the merlin's in amethyst). The text on that bottom card is completely ignored, like it doesn't even exist.

    So, just to clarify, with the Smee/Cogsworth example, even though Smee's ability may still trigger, the actual damage itself is never dealt to him, correct? For example: If you also have "Beast - Selfless Protector" out, his ability would NOT be triggered by the Smee/Cogsworth scenario, correct?

    • @ProvocativePixels
      @ProvocativePixels 5 месяцев назад +1

      That’s a good question

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry for the wait, I've asked around and I have the answer now :)
      If you have Beast, Cog and Smee in play, at the end of the turn you choose between applying resist or sending the damage to Beast.
      If your opponent is the source of damage, they choose between resist and Beast.
      We don't know atm what's happens with excess damage.
      Hope I've worded this correctly :D

    • @RegaliaKeyboards
      @RegaliaKeyboards 5 месяцев назад +1

      Beast SP isn't a triggered ability, it is a replacement effect. They have also made resist a replacement effect. This means you can only choose one of those replacement effects for the piece of damage per the rules of replacement effects (7.7.5 in the CRD). So you can either put 1 damage counter on Beast SP, or you can have the resist lower the damage dealt to Smee by 1.

    Elsa's Palace prevents lets say Genie from readying at the start of turn. I then play Fan the Flames and ready him and challenge, thus exerting him. Will I be able to ready him at the start of my next turn? We ruled no because Elsas palace would still have Genie as the target.

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think no as it is still the same target

    • @RegaliaKeyboards
      @RegaliaKeyboards 5 месяцев назад +1

      No is the correct answer here as you have already ruled. This is because it is irrelevant what happens to this specific Genie, he cannot ready at the start of the turn. He can ready otherways just fine, but then if you exert him to do something, the next turn he won't ready because that effect is still in place since it is a static effect.

    Does Merlin goat get its effect when shift Merlin is bounced or banished?

    • @paweopusinski1195
      @paweopusinski1195 5 месяцев назад +2

      No :( because after shifting, Merlin lost Goats ability (the abilities of cards not on top of stack don't work). So even though the stack splits into separate cards when moved to discard/hand/inkwell, at the moment of banish the goats ability cannot enter the bag so it cannot resolve.

      Tbh I could be wrong but felt like they have pushed the new mechanics out kinda slowly over the year as someone whos recently gotten into it i havnt played a tcg in 20 years besides a little bit of hearthstone and legends of runeterra. My 10 year old son and wife whos never played a TCG ever also understand how to play too now. Yes it could easily get out of control i hope it does not. I think some wording on some cards can be confusing and some things dont seem to be super clear sometimes but glad a video like this helps clear up a few things.

    • @LoreSeekersLorcana
      @LoreSeekersLorcana  5 месяцев назад +2

      I agree with you, I think that the new mechanics are rolled out at a steady pace and without overcomplicating the game. There's still a lot of wiggle room for various mechanics which would add a layer of gameplay depth without complicating the gameplay and rules. Happy to hear that the video is helpful :)

      @regaliakeebs1954 5 месяцев назад +1

      It has to become more complex over time, you can’t change that. The game stays too simple and never increases in complexity it dies, simple as that
