Finally someone who shows off practically what stuff fits in these bags. Thank you for being honest dude, appreciate it.
Glad it was helpful!
This review convinced me to pull the trigger on the Peak Design sling - Thank you for the thorough review! I have a weird use case where I wanted a small bag that will fit the 30oz mason jar I keep my refill coffee in, alongside a couple of EDC pouches. Yours was the only video that really gave me a good picture of what can fit in this little bag!
Mahalo Matty. I feel like I've watched dozens of reviews on this bag, and this one was the one that finally sealed the deal for me. Appreciate it.
Glad it helped! Aloha!
Great review, I couldn’t decide which to get because I want it to function somewhat as both EDC and a camera & accessories companion sling. But it looks like this can do a bit of both so thank you!
Yes, thank you for actually putting things in the bag, so many reviews that just open it and say nice compartment, could be bigger...
Great review especially as I’m looking for a good travel sling - the peak design is looking good!
I have both of those slings. Both of them have served me well. I do prefer the Peak as my gear is better protected than in the Hex. But the Hex can be les bulkier and if you take out the dividers it can fit on a carryon or backpack with no issues. I agree that the strap on the Peak is miles better than the one on the Hex, but in my case, the Peak slides around more. That didn't happen with my older Peak 5L sling, but it has become slight annoyance with the 6L and 3L.
I am still searching for a more compact sling, that will fit my X100F with the WCL attached, extra battery, wallet, keys and some other EDC. On a recent trip I found out than an older Quicksilver fanny pack (1.5L according to specs) I had laying around did this relatively well, but it had no protection whatsoever. Might look into the Moment 2L sling.
There is 0 chance my D850 is fitting in the Hex. I think the 3L peak design is really pushing it. Especially with a mid sized 135mm lens, I might just have to go with the 6L. Thanks for the video 😊
Sorry, I’d check for you, but the only DSLRs I still own are APSC. Good luck!
Thanks a mill, for such a great review vdo
Thanks for the review. I was considering the hex which looks less bulky. But I want to use it with the camera grip on top, which you said wouldn't work. So it's a no go. Too bad.
Thanks for showing the practicality of these bags. I know this video is older. Do you think I could fit a A1 with the 70-200 F4 ii? I’m looking for a single lens set up for a Paris trip.
I don't have that particular lens, but I have the 70-200 GM I, and that won't fit. Hope that helps a little
Thanks for the video. My long search for the perfect bag for my M43 gear has led me to these two as a finalists. I REALLY wanted to like the hex bag more, but I am at the same point as you which is that the strap just SUCKS! Between the adjusters being stiff and the buckle landing weird, I feel like long term it’s going to be an issue. I wish the strap was removable even so that it could just be replaced. The PD is SLIGHTLY larger than I really want, but the strap may just kill it for me on the Hex.
Yeah, I’m hopeful for a v2!
Need a sling recommendation for an R3
Saw someone added a seat belt pad on the hex bag ($7). Big price difference on these bags. Front pocket on Peak Design is pretty much useless even though bag is really nice.
I did like the Hex bag, but if I could only choose one…it had to be the PD. But…I wouldn’t be mad if all I had was the Hex either. 🤷🏻♂️
Added a ZINZ Universal Shoulder Pad and extended the strap with a Universal extender belt (I prefer the sling across my body and at my hip) and the Hex mini sling is perfect for travel with a Sony rx100 m6, Fuji xe4 with 18-55 lens, and a Go 3.
I was waiting for you to stand up and show us the bags over your shoulder
I really don’t like the peak sling. It looks like it was designed for women.
To be fair, I kinda feel the same way…but I got over it since they work so well. I really wanted to like the hex better cause it looks sick
that's the whole reason why didn't get one too, I just HATE the look of it, how would a fuji xr-4 kit fit with a cage, 16-55mm, and maybe the 35?
i've been looking at the clever supply it's just damn expensive
