I absolutely love your shooting style. It's very non-invasive of the subjects and always has lovely geometric elements in your composition. Big time inspo for me.
Your Daily Carry makes perfect sense, thank you. I went to Tokyo with a 6L Peak Design Sling carrying a mirrorless camera with a 24-105 lens. It had plenty of room to carry other personal items and it kept my belongs dry in heavy rain showers.
Roman, I agree with you on The sling style bag rather than a backpack. I switched a decade ago to a waxed canvas Domke Messenger style worn across the body and it’s great for access and security and importantly the look is understated which is good when you’re in a foreign city and worried about security. It’s got a little sleeve slot down the back to put maps or an iPad. Though it’s small I’m able to fit a big DSLR full frame with a couple of lenses no problem. Now I put my Fuji XE4 and a couple of lenses and it’s almost empty so I can slip a water bottle in there as well In one of the lens slots
You said X-T4 over X-T3, if u r videographer. Maybe because of IBIS ? I was thinking about X-T4 but it is too expensive. Maybe X-T3 with the kit lens XF 18-55 OIS would do the work also fine ?
Same bag. Highly recommended. Usual contents: X100T, TCL, three batteries, spare SD Card and a square lens hood for the in-body lens, a usb cable to transfer the files to my phone (Fuji app is garbage...most of the time). I "envy" apple users for the eco system and how well the watch works. Some things just are not as polished in Android and Windows...not willing to switch though and for on-the-go my Pixel 5 has to be enough. Always nice to hear how you start your walks and make the most of it. I guess the biggest problem is that we often bring too much. Nevertheless, I would like to switch from my xh-1 to an xt-4 (I need Ibis for old lenses) and then maybe not use my x100t as much anymore? Don't know if that would be great...I just like that old thing so much.
For just walking around taking photos on the weekend during the day i love the x-t4 with the pancake XF 27mm f2.8 R WR Lens. it is such a small lense its great
Fantastic combo with the 27mm but I usually find that my 27mm is not wide enough or not long enough to get a shot sometimes but I love its compact size
A sling/messenger/shoulder bag is indeed great for accessing your stuff, and for security. However, it can wreck your back. So I will often balance things out by carrying two smaller bags, e.g. small camera bag on one side with the bits and bobs, phone, wallet, whatever. But the camera itself goes on the other side, either on a strap, or in a second small bag. This setup is not so elegant, but in the end freedom from pain trumps elegance.
I';m going back here after buying a small sling bag for my camera, one lens, smartphone , powerbank, earphones and a hand sanitizer. First I was not sure about it. But during my travel I just love it! Great advise, the apps are also super useful!
Your travels seem to be going well so far Roman. Hopefully you're enjoying the new lease of life and certainly getting a fair bit more heat and sun, compared to the very changeable British weather. Keep it coming mate, great adventure, look after yourself and happy travels.
Hi Roman. I have been watching your videos now for a couple of days and find them very informative. Thank you for sharing all your ideas and how to take photos. I am a newbee to photography and your explanations about photoshooting is awesome. Keep up the good work. I will be watching you 😄👍
Sweet video. We surprisingly have a similar travel photo setup! Mine's is: XT-3. 14mm 2.8, 35mm 1.4. I also keep the baby flash on top of the camera at all times for if I need a pop of fill light.
Cool video! I also love Peak design Sling 3l and I use it more than my backpacks 😁 I always pack one camera body (xt2/xt3) and three primes (16mmf2.8, 23mmf2 and 35mmf2)...such a great bag...
Thank you for those apps recommendation. I did not know about them, I usually use Google Maps, but when in location I just walking and shoot photos until I’m exhausted. I think those recommendation will come handy when travelling overseas and limited time spend there. Thank you, Roman
Excellent Channel Brother! Not only do you offer great tips on here for travel photography, but you back it up with beautifully composed images. It's a rare find in the field of Photographers with RUclips Channels. Much love and respect to you.
Same bag setup for me! I highly recommend the Peak Design 3L sling. I usually carry my X100V + WCL & TCL or my Z6ii + 24-200 in it along with extra batteries, memory cards, iPhone SD reader, lens cloth, etc.
I’ve been finding lately that I’m sticking with my primes, too, rather than the zooms. Only really taking a zoom when I need much longer focal lengths. Great advice as always, Roman!
The earpods tip is a great one. Will use it. Visited Istanbul as well and no shortage of guys running up to you asking you come look at their rugs. They were soo persistent, it got very annoying.
That is a good travel kit . I use something similar . By wide angle is on my phone - 60mm as my walk about and 120 mm for portraits . Therefore on my city visits I use 60mm because I like anything between 55-58 as my 50 lens and the 60mm lens ticks that box . My phone has a 28mm and that works as a good balance with the lens glued to the camera and the portrait option is double my walk about
I Also have a peak 6 l bag for my Olympus m1 mark II and 12-40mm f2;8,; 40- 150 mm f2,8 lenses! And a 25 mm F1,7. In full framme from 24- 300 mm.Wheigt 1,9 kg.
Same bag but I have the sigma 56 1.4 and 33 f2 stacked on the right. Hoping the 18 1.4 fits in the xt5 in the main spot. Will be perfect having. 28-50-85 ff equivalent
Great advice. I got a XT3 and really enjoy it. Paired with the 23 F2 it’s small and light. Avoid Lowpro sling bags they are not great quality and after a year mine looks beat up and broken corners with not much use.
I've been looking for a sling for ages, and was seriously looking at the bellroy and Aer ones! Looks like this Peak Design one might be the one to get as a small everyday bag.
Hi Roman. Hope you can help with a question? I am considering buying a Peak Design Sling 3l but am unsure if the 18mm and 33mm can fit in the bag with Fuji's metal lenshood mounted on both lenses? I use them with the X-Pro3.
How do you think the size of your FujiFilm body compares to a Lumix S5? Loink for a sling that is big enough for S5 with 28-70 Sigma DN and some smaller personal items.
Same bag, I use it with XE4 and XC35, XF18-55. Excellent bag. I also use Everyday Backpack 20l V2, which has awful straps, but otherwise a great backpack.
I have the xt5 and 33mm f 1.4. I usually bring the 16mm f 1.4. would it be an upgrade to sell the 16mm and get a 28mm f 1.4? I also have the 35mm f 1.4 older version maybe sell that as well to get the 28 mm?
I would add a free translation app or down load the particular language to Google translate app. It works off line. I wear a lanyard for storing tickets as they are easy to locate, store and keep safe. Take a pic of hotel card with address and tel No's, and frontage image. Just in case you need to get taxi back !
For every photographer that wants to save space, I highly recommend the X-E series over the X-T3. I have the X-E4 and it's a fantastic camera. Sure, it has less buttons, but it's packed with all the important functions, you can change lenses easily and the sensor is just amazing!
Second this! I've got an X-E3 and it's almost too good for the price you can buy it for currently (300-400 € used.) It's so convenient to customise it with all the buttons.
@@DoenerFoundation Really? I didn't notice anything of that kind, but then again it'S my first really expensive camera. I only have a Nikon entry-level DSLR apart the Fuji and it feels a lot cheaper. What is a good feeling camera in your point of view?
Hey Roman, this sling looks really good. Do you have the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip? I love using that with my PD Sling, since it has a dedicated place to attach it, I wonder if I could do the same with the Bellroy.
Definitely, lighter is better. I will have a look the Peak Design Sling. Thank you for your advices! BTW, I think my biggest issue when doing street is change of lenses, worries about dust and dropping the lens. It would be interesting a video about your technique in change lenses, and how often do you change it. For example, if you see a nice shot opportunity but had just changed the lenses, would you change it again?
The perfect kit! Thanks for the tips on the apps. I use the Fuji 35mm f/1.4 and it is so much sharper than the 18-60mm kit lens that came with the X-T4.
Another great video Roman! Always love and appreciate your brief, succinct to the point approach. I'm packing a similar set up with an Xt-3 and sometimes I throw in my X100V. I did have one question. I thought that you mentioned your wrist strap in this video so I watched twice to be sure I didn't miss the call out on what type you use. If you could enlighten me I'd appreciate it. I'm currently using one that is leather and uses the peak design anchor. I like it okay but sometimes the leather chaffs my wrist so I'm looking for a softer more comfortable choice. Watching your video the one you are using seems to be made of parachord with a longish leash connection to the camera. Safe travels and please keep the videos coming. Best regards.
I found it useful. I've been running those two primes and an xt4 and I love it. I haven't found a bag that works yet though. Does that peak design sling hold the camera and spare lens comfortably?
Same bag, I carry a X-T3 with a 35mm F2 and my beloved X100T. No need to change lenses, that's all I ever need. Spare batterys and SD Card and a microfiber cloth. That's all...
Lovely video, Roman! Could you please mention which camera strap and wrist strap you use? I've been looking for the camera strap in particular - that rounded / tubular aspect of it might make it a comfy option, is it?
Hi Roman. Good video this week. I've moved across to Sony for the big pixel count on the A7R IV so I crop a lot and print big from the subsequent image. I still have foot in the Fuji camp. I've got an X-E4 with the pancake 27mm and used 18-55 and 55-230. All in a Crumpler Proper Roadie sling. The whole kit is light as a feather and very powerful. I was a bit concerned that the X-E4 was a bit sparse on the buttons and controls. Not so. Really not so. Fuji have worked their magic and I can't recommend the camera enough. Too much winging and obsessing about lots of bits of specs and minor differences between this brand or body or that.
Perfect timing for me to see this comment. Been looking at slings and have narrowed it down to Moment and the 6L Peak. Was going to take my camera into the store to see how fit etc. I don’t know anyone who has the 6L Peak, so no one to ask.
@@zeballos5757 Using the 6L here. Daily carrying XPro3 with 27mm pancake, sometimes with my ipad mini. Fantastic bag as it gives me more room when I need to actually bring more stuff, 3L seems really constrained to a single camera kit
@@Justinhcyu that is exactly why I was thinking about getting the 6L in addition to my 3L. To maybe carry a tablet in addition to my kit. Interesting. Thanks for the info
@@mattg8888 heres some more info if you'd like. im using 3 compartments similar to the default out of factory layout, 1 for my xpro3+27mm, 1 for lenses and 1 for mobile charger/foldable tote bag(if you know what i mean xD)/or maybe a little film camera (Kodak M38). for the lens compartment, i put my 35mm 1.4 at the bottom, use the partition thing that folds down and put the 18mm 1.4 on top. these all fit perfectly and i can close the bag without any stretch. however with this set up I normally will skip my ipad mini because even though it can still be put into the back compartment, it will make the whole bag a bit too heavy to carry round for a photo outing. i very much enjoy the flexibility that this bag gives me, so i do recommend getting one to cater for more situations :) sorry it seems like a mess to read im trying my best to visualize the layouts haha
I have a question. You always shoot prime any reason that you don’t use zoom lenses? Because with zoom lenses you have more focal length? I just wanted to know why you prefer primes over zoom.
I love my X100V for almost everything, but sometimes I miss my XT3 + 35 f1.4 for that compression. Most of the time it's difficult for me to decide what what focal length to use! 😅
Get the TCL. It is "only" f2, but I enjoy it quite a lot and would actually prefer that to be the standard focal length of the x100 line. I got mine from a refurb store for a bit over 100EUR and it is well worth it. And they sell easily for the same price again, so if you don't like it, just turn around and sell it again.
Hey, are you interested in the X-H2S that is rumored to be announced on May 31st? As far as we know that's still a 26Mp camera, but with much higher video specs and a stacked sensor, seems like a very good hybrid option. Better AF is rumored as well. Or maybe you're more interested in the higher resolution X-H2 coming later? Also when it comes to slingbags, I definetly think that the sweetspot is the 6L version for the peak design bags. I tried the 3L, and it's too small for a lot of the thing I wanna carry (I use a viltrox 85mm f/1.8 on my X-T2, that definitetly doesn't help...). I found the 6L bag to be the perfect size for an hybrid bag though, I hate having my phone in my pocket, so it can double as a regular bag housing my wallet, papers, phone, keys, glasses, umbrella (if need be), AND a camera on the smaller size like an X-T2/3 with a small lens like the 18mm f2 or the 27mm f2.8, or an X100 camera
absolutely not. If the leaked photos are real, then I think a Sony a7iv is more compact lol. But in all seriousness I am happy with the XT4 and refuse to go for a bigger camera. Honestly if fuji keeps getting bigger and bigger I will need to rethink what I use
That sling doesn’t look it carries more than just the body with a lens on it. Do you keep your other lenses loose in your luggage? When you leave your hotel for the day do you just pick one lens? “Today feels like a 50mm day”… “today feels like a 28mm day” ?
All excellent bits of advice. I'm just about to buy a Peak Design sling. You've yet to produce a bad video. You're photos are very good too. Please keep it up. No presssure. ;-)
I would actually advise picking up X-T3 over the X-T4 for video, if anyone shoots more video than photo. As much as I love flippy screens, they get in the way when rigged up with monitors/v-mounts. You can leave a tilt screen open to have an eye on settings constantly, but I wouldn't have a flippy screen constantly open when shooting video. It's gonna snap with the slightest bump in busy environments. Also, the IBIS isn't great for video. Had many shots that would have been keepers, if not for the wobble, even on 16 or 23mm.
There is one BIIIIIG downside of this bag. Although the material is good for durability and weather resistance, the inner side which touches your clothes is made from the same material which is abrasive. It can destroy your clothes, actually 🙁. I recommend wearing it at a lower position so that it moves a minimum.
There's a lot of hoops you wouldn't have to jump through if you were on Android instead of iPhone! My EDC is very similar to yours but I can just connect the camera directly to the phone with a C to C cable to transfer images instead of needing an SD Card reader and I don't need any of the adapters either. Editing on the Galaxy Fold is a great experience too 😉 Most of the time I don't even bring my laptop!

The whole kit is light as a feather and very powerful. I was a bit concerned that the X-E4 was a bit sparse on the buttons and controls. Not so. Really not so. Fuji have worked their magic and I can't recommend the camera enough. Too much winging and obsessing about lots of bits of specs and minor differences between this brand or body or that.
yeah I heard great things about it but never used one. Cheers
You is awesome Mr. Roman.... great and quality content .... lots of good wishes from Sid...
Ah thank you so much, this is excellent advice!
Many great tips! Thanks
I use the 6L version of this bag. Cannot recommend it enough.
@@Justinhcyu great. Thanks for the reply and the info.
@@Justinhcyu that is exactly why I was thinking about getting the 6L in addition to my 3L. To maybe carry a tablet in addition to my kit. Interesting. Thanks for the info
@@mattg8888 heres some more info if you'd like. im using 3 compartments similar to the default out of factory layout, 1 for my xpro3+27mm, 1 for lenses and 1 for mobile charger/foldable tote bag(if you know what i mean xD)/or maybe a little film camera (Kodak M38). for the lens compartment, i put my 35mm 1.4 at the bottom, use the partition thing that folds down and put the 18mm 1.4 on top. these all fit perfectly and i can close the bag without any stretch. however with this set up I normally will skip my ipad mini because even though it can still be put into the back compartment, it will make the whole bag a bit too heavy to carry round for a photo outing. i very much enjoy the flexibility that this bag gives me, so i do recommend getting one to cater for more situations :)
sorry it seems like a mess to read im trying my best to visualize the layouts haha
Great video. So any useful tips. Thanks for sharing the apps
Piece of light ❤️
I have a question. You always shoot prime any reason that you don’t use zoom lenses? Because with zoom lenses you have more focal length? I just wanted to know why you prefer primes over zoom.
I do use the zoom a lot but I just don't like to carry it round too much as it's bigger and heavier. also I enjoy using primes
@@snapsbyfox thanks I just only saw primes in most of your videos. Have you try tamron 18-300? Btw thanks for your response.
Great video Roman !!!!
Very helpful and smart video.
I'm so torn on the X-T4. With the rumors of the new XH-2 I'm wondering if I should wait for that or an XT-5. What do you think?
You just listed my dream lens set up vs what I’m actually going to get.
That iPhone trick is amazing, thanks for sharing mate 👌
Cheers mate!
Lovly videos as usual !!
Great video man. What’s the app for tide ?
Can i view Fuji "raw" files on phone using Apple sd to lightning reader by default? Or do i need other apps to view raw files?
do you experience where the date and time of video files changes after you transfer it to your iphone?
I have a question about the 3L sling, does it fit the X-T4 with both the 18 and 33mm lenses or only one of the two?
I fit an x-t3, 18, 33 and extra battery. It's a tight fit, but it works.
That sling doesn’t look it carries more than just the body with a lens on it. Do you keep your other lenses loose in your luggage? When you leave your hotel for the day do you just pick one lens? “Today feels like a 50mm day”… “today feels like a 28mm day” ?
nah both are inside mate. the 50 and the 28. Sometimes I do only bring just one if I want to go super simple
All excellent bits of advice. I'm just about to buy a Peak Design sling. You've yet to produce a bad video. You're photos are very good too. Please keep it up. No presssure. ;-)
Cheers! haha
Thanks for the video 🤍
Are there still cities where it is legal to photograph strangers and publish the images?
that shoulder strap need sponge padding bro
Thanks for the info 👍👍👍👍
Very Helpful. THANKS!
can you specify those little adapters please ? thanks
just standard usb c to usb a / micro usb and lightning. amazon specials nothing fancy
Goruck GR1 21L backpack for the WIN brother 🔥. Awesome content as usual man love it 🤘
Cheers! heard good things about goruck tbh... but no more bags for me... im done buying and selling lol
There is one BIIIIIG downside of this bag.
Although the material is good for durability and weather resistance, the inner side which touches your clothes is made from the same material which is abrasive. It can destroy your clothes, actually 🙁. I recommend wearing it at a lower position so that it moves a minimum.
Buy yourself an ONA BAG BOWERY LEATHER, just once ;)
I once shouted at you buy my cheese, but didn't realise you had your airpods in on TRANSPARENCY mode. I know now, beware of my cheese.
Links to Apps?
Useful video
Bottle of water too, stay hydrated peeps💦
can you please write the name of all the apps you mentioned?

Come to India and have a life of photographs! 🇮🇳
Take only the camera you have. No airpods, no other tools. Take pictures but enjoy the environment. Don’t spend time sharing, doing edits, etc.
Your eyes look stressed. Are you okay?
