    I have the old 5 L bag and love it. It fits my Lumix G85 with my 14-140 zoom attached, a 100-300 zoom for birding, and a water bottle or my 25 mm and 42.5 mm primes, plus a set of filters and an extra battery and SD card. When I am at home I use it for photo walks in the park and other times I want my full arsenal with me. When on vacation, I pack the sling with the above camera gear in it in the bottom of my backpack with a laptop, iPad, power bank, chargers and cords and all of my other electronics that I might need in the hotel. Then when we leave the hotel to explore, I just grab the sling with the appropriate gear for the day. Love the way I can pull the straps shorter to keep the sling tight to my back and release them to access the contents in front of me.

      I had a 5L PD sling. Carried two cameras in it. Had it open on the ground and it flopped. My RX100-2 fell out. Later the strap came apart. They supplied a repair kit for it. Quickly.
      I bought a 6L sling. Use it every day. Those two dividers are showing wear. I can fit an iPad Air in it. The sling doesn’t carry well then. You’re right. Strap on top is essential. I want to check out the PD tech pouch and ditch the dividers. Good review.
      Loved my Leica M3. Didn’t like my M4P. EDC is now an RX100-7 and batteries.

    I love putting POV videos in the background while I do busy work in my office so there's definitely an audience for it! I carry an action cam in my bag at all times. mostly for family memories lately but always great to have.

    I am a disciple of Peak Design and have a huge amount of their products. The 6 litre sling has just been added to my collection to house my incoming Leica D-Lux 8, so that I can walk the streets with a minimum amount of gear. I just adore their products; they are so thoughtfully created and their construction from premium materials puts them ahead of the competition. They are not cheap, but good equipment never was and never will be - one gets what one pays for.

    I took the 6L on a trip to Brazil. I had my M11, 35 APO, 21 Super Elmar and 90 APO. Plenty of room for my phone, extra battery and lens cleaners. In the rain and dust, it did a great job protecting the camera.

      How are you finding the m11 + 35 APO combo?

    • @Tedwill-home
      @Tedwill-home Год назад

      @@_beesh I waited nearly 2 years for it. A friend of mine sold his to me a week before my trip to Brazil. Of the 600 photos I took, 550 of them were on that lens. The other 50 were on the 21 and the 90. I also own the 35 Summilux . Nothing compares to the 35 APO. It’s the best lens I ever used. It truly feels like magic. The Summilux definitely has a beautiful look to it. But in all conditions the 35 APO was amazing.

    • @_beesh

      @@Tedwill-home how’d you find the low light and bokeh of the apo?
      I’m considering getting one as an opportunity for me to get it without waiting has arisen.

    • @Tedwill-home
      @Tedwill-home Год назад

      @@_beesh The combo is great. With the M11’s ability to handle low light with good DR at high ISOs, and the 35 APO’s lens design, there weren’t any situations where it didn’t perform breathtakingly well. On the SL2, it’s also amazing in any light. Worse case, you can always resell it at a high price if you don’t like it, but few people let it go.

    I love this bag. It is my go to bag for travel. Greece, Spain, and Japan, this bag does it all. I daily a Canon Model 7, DJI Mini Pro 3 drone, and a batter Anker Battery backup.. Oh and my iPad. The bag is not 100% weather proof because it does not repel water, but the material is thick and high quality and it kept all my gear dry. found that out in Japan during the summer. I recommend this bag to anyone that wants a light run and gun travel bag. Thaks for the review and glad you had a similar experience.

    I was a backer of their original capture clip but haven’t owned anything from them since then. I know Peak Design has excellent design and build but the purpose of a camera bag was to well, not look like a camera bag. Over the years Peak Design bags became that obvious photographer bag so I’ve been putting my cameras in a padded wrap and toss it in my tote bag. But I went on a trip this past may and decided to get the 3L sling because i didn’t like how the tote bag swings around and slides off my shoulders.
    I gotta say the 3L sling converted me over, you can’t beat it for its functionality. I was able to fit my M10-P with a 35 Lux FLE, M2 with 40mm Cron, Ricoh GR2, an extra roll of film, 2 ND filters, batteries for all 3 cameras, 10,000 mah battery pack and of course my passport as well as a Hero clip, and Chapstick. If i don’t take the M2 or GR. I would be able to fit my sunglasses hard case.
    The cool thing is I was able to clip my Osomo Action 1 cam to the slot reserved for the capture clip. The ease of adjusting the strap is great which makes it easy to take off and on, also extending it to sit by your side when you’re on the train but tight on your back when you’re out and about. I think the 6L would be nice if you want to carry a tablet but the 3L is perfect if you just want to focus on shooting for the whole day but also able to carry a bunch of other essentials with you.
    If you’re on the fence about the sling… just get it!

    I use the same Peak Design 6 liter bag. I usually carry one camera (Leica M Type 262) and two lenses (plus the lens on the camera for a total of three). I do use the folding dividers to keep my lenses from banging each other. I also use a Billingham bag but tend to favor the Peak Design bag because it sits closer to my body and feels slimmer, but not really sure that it is. I also have the Peak Design 3 liter bag for my Olympus Pen F and three lenses. Not that it matters but my color of choice for both bags is ash gray. The little 3 liter bag is a wonderful minimalist bag. It looks more like a fanny pack with a shoulder sling.

    Matt, I always enjoy a "bag dump" or a "pocket dump" -- really, just the "what am I carrying" sort of thing. I especially appreciate hearing the "why" about what is in the daily carry.
    Peak Design makes good stuff. But, I just sold my original Messenger (V1) that I did not use. It was just too big and too stiff for me.
    I recently discovered Nutsac bags and have a couple of them that I really like for daily carry. The larger bag, a 15" messenger, carries my MacBook Pro and support. It is a waxed canvas bag in the tactical line. I then bought the 13" and I carry my Surface Go 2 in it, along with support.
    For my camera kit, I love Domke waxed canvas bags. The vintage feel is great, they are not stiff so they conform to my body, and they are sufficiently water resistant for my location. I have a couple of their F2 bags that are about right for my X-T5 kit. I can carry a handful of lenses (I'm mostly a prime shooter), batteries, etc.
    I laughed about the Rhodia pad. I think that is Clairfontaine paper and it's excellent for fountain pens. I prefer to use fountain pens for writing and keep a TWSBI Mini in my cargo pocket along with a pad all the time. I use a waterproof ink. I also keep a Fisher Space Pen and a Rite-in-the-Rain pad handy as well.
    I'm going to watch this again and take a few notes. The powerbank is a good idea. The fidget-toy is also not a bad idea.
    Well done. Thanks!

On sunny days, I manage to squeeze in a small bottle of sunscreen (because I catch fire every time the sun is out), or I can squeeze in a small Godox flash unit with batteries. Looked at the 6L first, but I went for the 3L and have never regretted it. When I need more gear with me or I need to travel lightly for a few days, I have the 20L Everyday Backpack. #PeakDesignFanBoy

    +1 on Rhodia paper. Great with a fountain pen. Also, the 6L Sling is a deceptively roomy bag. It will actually hold a Fuji GW690! Side note: PD makes THE very best packing cubes. They can compress so much clothing down into a manageable space. Highly recommend.

I've actually went to the shop simply to try it out but it was just too perfect for me to leave there. I have used the 3L for 2 years now, for me its the perfect size for a shoot and daily carry (I primarily shoot with mirrorless cameras, so I'm carrying a much lighter load than If I was shooting analog). I really beat the bag up I pay more up front for something rugged and durable because I know I'm not delicate lol. It's a great bag and my only gripe with it nowadays Is that they've grown in popularity to the point where Im running into people with the same bag which may raise attention to thieves. IMO the worst part about the bag is that it's difficult to carry a water bottle with but in that case you're better off just using a bigger bag anyway.

    • @Alex-ez1lk
      @Alex-ez1lk 6 месяцев назад

      The lack of water bottle space is the biggest issue with 99% of sling bags. If you're taking photos all day in summer temp, and you don't need more than just your camera and an extra lens, battery etc, how are you supposed to carry water? You can compromise and dangle a water bottle off of a loop, but that ruins the ergonomics and at that point you might as well just take your regular backpack. It's crazy to me that in 2024, these companies still have not factored in water needs. And btw, I do have the 3L and will be selling it.

I had the 10L and used it to carry camera gear and my work setup for travel and the rigidity of the bag itself just pissed me off how difficult it was to get items out of it. It truly requires 2 hands to get into it and get items out of it, even the front zipper pocket was difficult to access. I disliked it so much I gave it away when I sold a camera body. The downside of Peak Design is their pricing, there extremely proud of their products…
    For my style of photography utilizing old school Nikon DSLR and lenses I prefer storing transporting in a couple of Nanuk 935 hard cases. No, I don’t haul those cases with me, they stay in the vehicle. If I do feel the need to have an extra lens etc with me I use my Think Tank shoulder bag.

    Peak Design ruined gear for me. Their strap adjustment system and tiny clasps and quick release stuff is truly mind blowing. I think some guy spent too much time smoking, dreamed all this and unleashed it into the world

    I'm not a big fan of POV go pro photography, unless it's on a cat or a kid or a dog or something like that. 🙂

    These are like $600 or something 🤣 Try an Alpaka instead - better security features and materials at better prices.

      You’re off by about $480 on the price, my friend.

    IMO, the PD bags don’t really fit well for women… i love the look of the sling bag but it’s just not comfortable.

    This is the worst bag video I have ever seen. You trying to talk about yourself, show off your stuff or actually, maybe, show the bag!
