    Most beautiful and classy speaker ever.

    Jay thank you for the perspective from a musician. I really got what you meant describing the sound coming out of a trumpet and how only very good speakers can convey that.

    I completely agree. Sonus Faber is Artisan. End of subject. They are just not typical production line crap. They are carefully crafted work of art.

    They're absolutely gorgeous speakers. I think that might play a part of appealing to the heart.

    Maybe you can do a comparision of the Electa Amator with the Guarneri Tradition, as two of the top of the line bookshelf speakers from Sonus Faber, in a future video? Because from the pure optic point of view I find the latter ones much more attractive, less marble, more carbon fibre and a much nicer finish of the wood.

    • @Philear4124
      @Philear4124 2 года назад +1

      Hi Markus,
      The Electa is slightly softer and can be used in a smaller space.
      You really need space for the Guarneri anyway and it is best to sit a little further from the speakers.
      But both are top speakers that are on my wish list.

    Electa Amator III, Magico A1, and Vivid S12 - three bookshelves I'd love to collect.

    Nice thoughts exchange with interesting personal context. Much appreciated ! The only thing that is probably missing is a word of warning: Electa Amator III has sensitivity of 88 dB and that seems quite good. But it's impedance is 4 Ohm with a dip close to 3 Ohms at some lower frequency. And all of that combined means that in order to enjoy the beauty of the looks and sweetness of the sound of Electa Amator III you have to have an ampflier that is not fazed by some serious high current demand ! Anyway, this was thoroughly enjoyable exchage of impressions !

    At Paragon Audio in Ann Arbor Michigan I heard the Wilson Audio Alexandria ran with close to a million dollars of gear. I preferred the bookshelf Sonus Farber ran with a little integrated McIntosh amp!

    Arranged an audition today on Amatar Maxima, Electa III, and Nova I powered by McIntosh MA9000. The tones are all off, mid high is too much, and timing is off too. Basically, none of the instruments sound right, even voice is not realistic. What sweetness are you guys talking about.
    I play guitar and sax too, basically from first bar I can't stand these speakers. After 10 minutes listening my ears hurt, listening fatigue hits me.
    These guys really don't know what they're talking about!

    I think the Sonus Faber Maxima Amator needs to be compared to the Cube Audio Nenuphar. I think both might have a similar sound signature, and both come at roughly the same price point.

    You just made me so thrilled. I love sonus faber but like you said, too thick, too luscious and not enough high frequency extension. Then you said that these aren't like that. Omgod I cant wait to hear these. Problem is I have kind of a big room 😪

    I was thinking about getting the Sonus Faber Olympica I. I may have to listen to these first before making a decision. Problem here in Vancouver is not many places to listen to them.
    What's the difference between Olympica and these ???

    • @davepastern
      @davepastern 2 года назад +1

      yes, it was. Superb sound too, very musical. IMHO, the newer generations don't touch the original. Originals use the very highly regarded, very rare, and very expensive Dynaudio D28AF and it's been tweaked by Sonus Faber to boot (sealed in a special chamber).

    To me, the revelation that both Adrian and Jay are musicians, whether casually or seriously, adds to their resume as experts in critical listening!!! By the way, I definitely miss Vilip’s input!!!
    Adrian’s story about being forced by his parents to learn piano and subsequently forcing his own children to learn the instrument, was amusing!!! Even more amusing, was that Adrian’s love for the piano grew when he noticed that girls appreciate those who knew how to play the piano!!! Sometimes, it’s all about the girls!!! ☮️🖖🏽

    When Franco Serblin (the founder) left the company, the production went out of italy to china. The sound went horrible. It is good to hear, Sonus Faber is back to good sound. No wonder, the production is now back to Italy.

    I am sure there are outstanding Chinese loudspeakers that exist. There are very few who don't know about quite a few phenomenal Chinese electronics brands by now, but how about the high-end Chinese speakers? Too bad that there is so little information that can trickle out from there... By the way: weren't Electa Amator III also made in China?

    Nah, these are over-priced Italian products. Let your money works for you better somewhere else, unless you want some bragging right about the name SonusFaber. Their sound is so so. The new Extrema is reportedly cost over 100K$ and looks ugly compared to the original ones.
