Beautiful recording I think the playback on this system sounds better than the original recording. I am impressed with the depth and fullness of the bass especially considering the speaker volume and driver size!

Fabulous sound, this two-way SF Maxima Amator easily bests many three-way LS. Dan Agostino precious and he has long relation with SF as in older times most SF speakers at factory were tested with Krell, when Dan was main man there.

At least through this you tube channel, I must say that I like this setup much much more then D'gostino + Wilson. Ehat a splendid presentation that draws attention and allure to stay on the track(s).

Extraordinay sound. How much of it is a function of the Progression? As that device is one of an elite few at the pinnacle of integrated amps (of course the 220lbs Plinium at $58k might best it), I would imagine it exerts quite a bit of influence over the sound, meaning it doesn't color it but draws out the greatest potential sound from the Amators. I wonder how the Norma Revo IPA140 would do?

Came across this video while researching the possibility of buying a pair of these speakers. Great looking shop. I know this track quite well and have played it a lot on my older system with Proac D40s. I must say these speakers seriously lack bass going on this recording. Its like a different song to the one I am familiar with. Pity, as they are beautiful looking speakers.

@@markrowe8824 Yes, precisely. To make it sing you require Power like this which makes for a high end near ultra high end territory.
Do they need a power? Two way design speakers, SF suggest amp 25-125w, Dan d’agostino is 400w into 4ohms, I think it’s even overkill for two way speakers
@@yuriy8057 For less efficient speakers the more power you have the more dynamic the speakers could be. Specially if you listen to lower volume the speakers open up earlier or you don't HV to listen so loud. Even with Class A.

🔥1:00 settin' my ears on fiahhh! 🔥 That's somewhat annoying. They peaked the tweeter out top above 6 kHz. To be fair, the tweeter will also start getting directional above that point, so in rooms that are more dead it will help it maintain a neutral in-room response. But it would be nice if they made this a jumper in the back of the speaker or something so you could defeat it if you wanted to toe them in or, as in this case, have them in a room with hardwood floors and lots of windows.
Sonus Faber c'est quand même supérieur. Avec la bonne association, on a du superbe son.

Not a big fan of this speaker. Not as detailed as it should be for the price, the tweeter has a larger sound than the midrange so the air portion of voices is larger sounding than the vocal range. The vocal range is super small sounding not just relative to the tweeter. This speaker also sound strained. I’ve listened to it in three different systems retailing over 60k. It is faster than the Amati line and the tweeter is actually quite beautiful as it is less veiled than most soft domes. The Amati line is slower but much more complete of a speaker.

doesn't sound too bad considering it's in a shop floor with big glass windows but yes if I was spending £37.5k on an amp and speakers then I'd want it in a proper dem room. 🤔🤔🙂🙂

Why no one play metal?
Because it doesn't sounds good in the recorded audio. The kind of boring audiophile music that they use sounds good everywhere, also on the cheapest system, and because it is so simple to ve reproduced, it is also simple to be recorded without distortions. It is just a voice and one instrument.

@@DannyoRaiden non just metal but they use that kind of songs because are perfectly recorded and easy to be played for making a good impression an so selling more. Every other kind of normal music is potentially more difficult.
This kind of music has gotten boring on speaker reviews. It would be nice to hear disco not the new wave music because that is garbage but 70s to 80s disco. Also Groups like Dramatics , Manhattan’s etc… also rock and heavy metal just to hear what these speakers really sound like in the real world. It would be nice to also hear music from DJ Larry levan from the long gone Paradise Garage club
