    If you ever felt like being an author, Winging It would make a fabulous how-to-embroider/project/manual/inspiration book :D

      I'd love that. I just need a publisher to take an interest! One day...

    I have been doing small art pieces since Jan 2020 that get sent out to friends by mail. I try to vary what I do: mixed media, drawing, doodling, assemblage, collage, paper folding and manipulation, etc. Not having much fabric at hand at the start of COVID, I wasn't doing as much stitching as I wanted and I started 2022 with the determination to do MORE! Your snowflake video popped up and I loved it. It was perfect for what I was hoping to do. I began following you and I'm very impressed with everything you've done. I love how there is a cohesiveness to the entire project and cohesiveness within the months but nothing gets repeated and every piece seems fresh and distinct. I think it takes skill to effectively combine variety with thematic cohesion. The scale on which you were working also meshed well with what I was producing. I expect to come back to your Winging It 2022 videos many, many times for inspiration and tutelage. You mentioned at one point during the year you may have had 300 followers and I took a glance: currently at 2.84K followers! I think people are hungry for ways to be creative that doesn't require tons of equipment, large expenditures of money, can be done on smaller scales (in terms of size and time) or in increments, and doesn't immediately demand great skill or expertise. Doing my art pieces on a regular basis has changed the way I think about creativity (and I have a long history of creativity but not in the manner I'm doing it now) and about life. It has provided moments of insight and joy and delight and even occasionally wonder as I think... 'how in the heck did I manage to create that fine piece!' :-) Anyway, lots of people are out here on social media doing art but of all the people I follow, you are definitely in the top tier of those I respect and admire. Thanks for stepping out of your comfort zone (fellow introvert) and reaching out to all of us you thought might be out there ready to receive what you had to offer. Happy New Year. I look forward to see where you're going with the 2023 project.

      Wow! I'm blown away. Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. I am amazed by the response to this project. I just wanted to put sime ideas out there and help people get creative. I am still operating on a shoestring and wish I had a better setup but I do the best I can to make helpful videos that are worthwhile. It makes me so happy to see feedback like this... it's the reason I keep going. Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely message. I appreciate it more than I can ever say. 🤗

    Rebecca, I just wanted to say thank you. I missed the live stream because I was working. I discovered your channel with week 23 so I am very far behind. I have been trying to learn embroidery for some time, with little success. You've inspired me to try again, so I've started with January and will continue. I wish you happiness and better health in 2023.

    The book is amazing so many beautiful stitches. You are an awesome teacher and make the stitches achievable. Books are often hard to follow.
    Looking forward to the next years project. Embroidery is such a great way to relax . Happy new year. Xxxx

    Rebecca you are an inspiration. Thank you so much for Featherstitch House. I found you when you did the undersea fabric manipulation page and am still catching up with the videos - I have such a lot to learn and they are a fabulous resource. I don’t know if I will actually do the quilt but I will be watching and learning and enjoying! Hope you can find a way of teaching in school combined with stitching for us that works for you x

      Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I hope I can find some balance too. One day, I hope I can stitch all the time. Small steps. This year has been really encouraging and I hope that next year takes me a bit closer to that goal. Thanks for stitching along. X

    It makes me happy to see this flip-through knowing I can go find your demo or instructions for every pane! Also, I would not have known you have a store if you hadn't said it.

      Thanks so much. I feel so awkward mentioning my shop. I need to get over myself. 😩

    • @kristinjacobsen3417
      @kristinjacobsen3417 Год назад +1

      Well, I think your shop is an opportunity for your audience to get the supplies they want. Or to get kits that help them actually do what you've been showing. I.e., it's a gift to us and makes it all easier. It's not mercenary of you.
      I just noticed the shop isn't listed in the video description. I think you really should list it in every video description. Also list your Instagram and Facebook page. And please make them clickable links so they're ready to use. I watch several artists like you on RUclips and that's just standard. Make things easier for us, your audience.

    Excited to be able to join you with the next project, I think I shall make a book again as have too many quilts already! I have donated £15 which when you take out the VAT works out at just £1 for every month you have done, bargain! It never occurred to me that I could donate until you mentioned it, so don't be embarrassed about it. Thank you!! And Happy New Year! x

    Happy New Year, sorry I missed you live but I have thoroughly enjoyed this look through the finished book. I have seen quite a few of the pages as you worked on them but look forward to seeing the others and having a go. You are inspiring and you should not feel unhappy with any of your pieces, we all get days like that, at least I know I do! When they are all put together they make a story and a memory and they look great. Thank you.xx

    Hi Rebecca, I missed your life stream but have just watched it back. I loved following your journey with all your ups and downs. Your honesty and vulnerability touched me. I joined quite late in the year so have a lot to catching up to do and are looking forward to your video's next year. I am not a quilter either but are going on a quilt holiday in March with a very experienced quilt group and are a bit nervous about that as well! Good luck and best wishes for 2023.

    How big are the weekly squares? I have plenty of fabric and trims and love appliqué! Roxy creations is doing a series stating this month down the garden path using monthly prompts. Thinking of combining both yours and theirs to make one project. Excited to get started next week.

      They aren't released yet - Rebecca is releasing one video each day after Christmas, so it ends on Twelfth Night, which is 5 or 6 of January, but don't ask me which, I always get it wrong!
