Thank you so much for this video. I'm a young woman on a budget. The other day the air just stopped blowing. I got a test light, followed your video and replaced it with no problem. I even changed my cabin air filter while I was at it! You just saved me so much money. Thanks!
Question ; if the blower motor is faulty where there is no action on any speed setting (and you've ruled out the resistor via a test light), would the a/c clutch NOT operate? Because that is what is happening on my car....I would expect the a/c clutch to cycle on/off even if the inside blower is bad. BUT it may be that the ECU senses the open circuit of the fan motor and does not turn on the a/c clutch. Thoughts?
This is a tail light socket with a double filament bulb inside. I soldered on male banana plugs to use with my electrical test lead kit. You can get the sockets super cheap at a junk yard. Some places won't even charge for such a small item.
MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC FAN STOPPED RUNNING , BUT IT WORKS WHEN IT'S WET OUT SIDE BUT IT WONT CUT OFF IN STOP POSITION ,WHEN DOES RUN , YOU MOVE SLIGHTLY OFF TO STOP TO GET THE FAN TO STOP , ALSO I USED THE DIAGNOSTIC PROGRAM WHERE YOU CUT THE CAR ON AND SET THE FAN SWITCH TO OFF, SET THE VENT TO BLOW IN 1ST POSITION (BLOWING TOWARD THE DRIVER), CUT THE CAR OFF PRESS DOWN ON BACK WINDOW HEATER AND INTERIOR RECYCLE BUTTONS AND CUT CAR ON AND FAN WORKED DURING THE TEST AND THE TEST SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH A/C SYSTEM ? I CHECKED A/C RELAY G8 H71 THE BLACK IT WAS GOOD CHANGED G8 H70 THE BACK WIDOW HEATER RELAY WITH OTHER FAN RELAYS BLUE ONES AND HAVE SAME PROBLEM . IF WAS THE RESISTOR THE FAN WORK AT ALL ? COULD IT BE FAN BAD OR THE THERE PROBLEM WITH THE CONNECTION UNDER THE BATTERY I THINK IT'S WHERE THE G31 WIRE RUNS TO ON SCHEMATIC. FOR THE COMPRESSOR MOTOR ?
See if the fan is getting power with a test light when it starts acting up. If the fan loses power then it could be the HVAC head unit. If the power remains then it's most likely the fan.
@@daverepole9283 The resistor is possible. Usually the blower motor or resistor would act up in all vent positions. Is this only acting up in one position or all positions?
I've run into clogged cabin filters that will inhibit the air from coming out of the vents. If you haven't looked at that yet I'd suggest checking it out.
Lol that's what I did today, but I was just wondering if that works, does that mean my blower fan needs to be replaced soon before it gets really bad to the point where that won't work anymore?

Thank you.
Straight up thought there was some cookie dough on that motor haha
Really appreciate this. Thank you.
This was super helpful! Thank you!
That was very useful! Thanks again.
Thanks I will try this, I use to bang on the glove compartment and it would come on

Thank u
Good information thank you
Thanks Sal 👍
Appreciate you man 💯💯💯
You’re awesome bro!!!
Grasias
De nada 👍
Thank you sir!
Hey thanks 👍
How did you get that “test light”?

Can you show an image of the test leads

On my daughter's 2010 civic when she puts defrost the motor sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Any clue?

Thank you . I'll try that. What about the resistor?

@@ValleyMobileAutomotive only when she wants to defrost
I’ve got one here that you can hear running but nothing is blowing out the vents… 🤔 it’s got me flipping through videos now

I hit mine and it started to spin again
Haha it's amazing how often that brings things back to life!

Where is the blower resistor located?
From my understanding this system doesn't have a traditional resistor. It uses what Honda calls a "power transistor" behind the HVAC controller.
What is the fan part number?
This one was bought at the local auto parts store. They should be able to get the part you need 👍
