in case anyone is wondering, here are the torque specs:
damper lower bolt: 59 Nm (6 kg/m, 44 lbft)
damper upper self-locking nut: 30 Nm (3.1 kg/m, 22 lbft)
Thank you.
Amazing, quick, informative video. Thank you for doing this!
@@jeffreymccormick9280 you’re welcome. Thank you for watching and I do appreciate your comment. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for Viedo and it was very helpful
Awesome having a lift , makes life easier..good job..👍👍🏻👍👍🏻
The lift makes it 10 times easier. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
Awesome video, I have been hearing like if I had a piece of something lose in a container when I drive the car, especially when going in bumps, only on right rear side, wondering if this is the issue… thanks for the video!!!
Thank you for watching and I do appreciate your comment. Check your rear stabilizer links and bushings first they do make a lot of noise when they go bad.
Honda trying to charge $750, $550 for labor for 4 bolts and two shocks!!! Wow! I’ll be doing this myself!!! Thanks
Wow. That’s little too much. I’m glad I can help. Thank you for watching.
I just got quoted 900$🥴🤡
@@erikv4902 I did it myself for $225… fixing your own vehicle is the way to go if you’re able to learn.. too many people are forced to pay high prices bc they own something they know nothing about.. that’s just silly and ignorant clownery
@@elevatedinnature def agree!!
@@erikv4902 same!!! I have a Honda Civic 2012 LX. The same exact car in that video. I’m going DIY.
Great job
Nice!
Great stuff easier than i thought ,thanks
For the non-mechanical inclined like me…
What was the mileage on the civic and What was wrong with the rear shocks (bouncing, noise)?
Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.
Was about 125k miles and it was bouncing
Great video man . Which brand shocks is good for this car KYB shocks.
Abdool Amin thank you. I appreciate you comment. I like KYB brand I been using them for years and they do make few different models you can pick whatever fits your needs.
Thanks man
You’re welcome. Thank you for watching.
I have a rattling on my rear passenger when I turn left down a ramp or going straight over the speed bump. Is that because my strut or bad? Because it does not bouncy if I push on down on it. Nice and simple video, thanks.
I would check the exhaust and exhaust heat shield first. Most likely you have broken shield. Plz let me know. Thank you for watching and I do appreciate your comment.
Thanks for the suggestion, will check on that.
Is the same shocks fits on hybrid trim
put some cps on bolt and anti seize on threads
❤❤
Can you do this job without a lift?
Looks very simple I’m going to tackle this tomorrow..Any pointers?
Good luck, it’s a simple job, u’ll be ok. Let me know how it goes.
Is there a torque spec for the upper and lower ?
Read my mind. Thanks!
Can you reuse the rubber bushing on top? My shocks did not come with them.
You can if it’s not torn or falling apart. Better new once thou

على كده بقى تعرف تغير وش سلندرو تظبط الكتينه كمان ولا مساعدين بس
لا طبعا كل حاجه. قريب في موتور Range Rover ٨ سلندر وش سلندر و كتينه عشان خطرك.
What was the size for the bolt under the shock??
The bottom bolt is size 14mm
And top one was also 14mm
Looks easy but somehow I will take a few days to do 🫡
Slow and steady wins. Take your time and do it right. 💪🏻
فى بقى معلومه عاوز اعرفها منك فيشة يعنى ايه الانجليزيه
فيشه حساس
فيشه اعطل
amgad adel حساس يعني sensor. سينسور
amgad adel فيشه plug. بلوج
Do you know what the torque specs are?
I honestly don’t. The top bolts can be just snug The bottom once has to be tight.
have you experience any cranking noise on that civics 2012? specially when parking or when driving in reverse? I am having a really annoying one, also on dumps :(
No. Haven’t seen that
I'm having this issue now! It is driving me nuts. I can't tell if I need a rear lower control arm or what. I'm losing my mind.
Would I be successful doing this job by not lifting it? I don’t have a lift…
Yea absolutely just use a floor jack and jack stands for safety and do one side at the time. You should be alright.
