As an "old lady" now, great to see you young ones finding out what real music and talent is! Been listening to these guys since they started and IMO there's no better band! PF has perfected their craft. Thanks for keeping the music alive! I only feel bad that you youngins won't get the chance to see them live. They were an experience, every time! Saw Pulse twice and the sound was so encompassing literally felt it for days! Not even exaggerating!

My personal preference would be to do the studio first. Pink Floyd is one of the rare bands that outperform their studio versions when playing live. You listen to the studio and go "How could they do it better?" Listen to the live and you'll find out!

I took my wife on honeymoon to see PF in Paris 1994. It was in a huge field, and towards the end GOD added to the light show, with lightning in the distance behind the stage as a storm came in.We got soaked and had to guess our way back to the coach as all power failed! The best gig ever, for me.

Filmed at London Earls Court ( seating 15,000) in October 1994, it was one of 14 nights at the venue. The BEST concert I have ever been to and that includes other Pink Floyd gigs in the 70's and 1980. A triumph of sight and sound. I read that some of the lighting effects came about by accident due to a computer glitch in rehearsals. They reviewed the software and incorporated it into the show.

Thanks for doing these reactions. One set of tracks you have to do the studio first are "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V)" and the second video is "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI - IX)" These are 15 and 13 minutes long but they take you on a far out exploration...somewhere out there. Not kidding. Thanks again.

Thanks for reacting to what is probably my favorite version of 'Sorrow'! The whole concert is awesome! Pink Floyd as a band doesn't exist anymore; but 3 of the 4 classic lineup members tour as solo acts, including David Gilmour, the guitarist/lead singer. I saw him on his solo tour in 2016 when it came through Chicago. He performed a lot of Pink Floyd classics, including 'Sorrow'. He was 70 years old that year and still sounded amazing. The original songwriter and bass player, Roger Waters (who had left the band by the time the Pulse concerts took place in 1994)--tours as a solo act, and so does the drummer, Nick Mason. Sadly, the keyboard player, Richard Wright, who would often play on David Gilmour's solo tours in the early 2000s, passed away in 2008.

So you like sci-fi do ya? Are you familiar with "Doctor Who"?
Check their live Pulse performance of "One These Days". I think you'll like it.
I was in about the 20th row when they performed this song "Sorrow" live in Chicago 1988. Right beneath one of those lasers. You got about a million watts of power coming at you from a full 360° sound system encircling the entire arena, and these blinding lasers forming an artificial sky right over your head with smoke that looks like green clouds floating in the sky. No matter how good it looks on video, NOTHING will ever take the place of actually being there. Doesn't even come close. A full attack on the senses!! (Did I mention my hearing isn't that great anymore? 😏).
Pink Floyd's last tour was 'Pulse' 1994. However David Gilmour has toured as a solo act since then performing many Pink Floyd songs, as recently as 2016. He's utilized some of the same backup touring musicians you see here. [There were actually only three members of Pink Floyd during the Pulse tour]. So the sound is pretty close.
Dave is 77 years old now and unlikely to go out again, but never say never with these guys. Roger Waters the former lyricist, bassist, and co- lead vocalist of the band (that's Roger on the album singing the first and third verses of "Comfortably Numb") still tours with amazing Pink Floyd dominated shows, as recently as last year and earlier this year. The drummer Nick Mason also still tours as a solo act performing many of their earlier more psychedelic songs utilizing guest vocalists. Richard Wright, the brilliant synth/keyboardist composer and occasional vocalist, passed away in 2008. His death is the main reason Dave has no interest in reforming Pink Floyd. RIP🌹

The best version of The Great Gig is the original recorded version on vinyl and unmolested CD's.
As Time and The Great Gig go together, is best to do them as one song in 2 movements.
    Otherwise......it doesn't matter with PF.
The recordings are brilliant and most live performances are even better.

you really need to understand Pink Floyd songs. Some of their meanings are nothing to giggle about. This group sings about reality and struggles of people mostly. Such as their fictional character Pink, who tends to show up a couple times since the wall. But I am glad you sat down and enjoyed it. Iut if all my favorite groups, this is my top. I listen to them almost daily. I suggest you start with Meddle from 1971and work your way up. You will really enjoy it. I would love to hear you critique Echoes from the Meddle album. Pink Floyd is no longer making studio albums since the Endless River 2014. But they do tour and have concerts currently in Europe.......yes I am a massive Pink Floyd fan.

You see, I think that when David took over, the emphasis went too much towards sound fx. Great sound on that guitar, sure. But I could’ve done that given the tools, and I’m not brilliant at the guitar by any means. It’s not great craftsmanship. Gilmour was so much better mid 70s.
