- Join me on a Business Class trip onboard a brand new Virgin Atlantic Airbus A350 aircraft from London Heathrow to New York JFK Airport. The video includes a full tour of the airline's famous flagship lounge - the Clubhouse - at London Heathrow. The video was recorded early 2020, prior to the Coronavirus pandemic.

I’ve been looking at these types of videos more than ever so that when we finally have the opportunity to travel, I’ll be so much more appreciative
I sooo miss travel during the pandemic. I would love to hear the sound of takeoff again
Same. Hopefully we can travel thihs year
Me too. I flew once during the pandemic, but that was like 5 months ago.
The planet doesn’t .
I only hate about plane are when your ear pops
I chew gum and it helps
I flew VS 3 times LAX-LHR in Upper Class. They were the BEST flights I've ever taken...and I work for Delta. I flew on 747s every time. This was back when the pillows were big and down, the blankets were down comforters, you received a snooze suit to change into so your clothes wouldn't get wrinkled during the flight, and the amenities pouches were called, "Wakey Wakey" kits. The in-flight entertainment was state of the art. The crews were always friendly and welcoming. I even flew on the day Princess Diana passed away and you would never have known it by the crew's professionalism. The were upbeat and smiling. I recommend Virgin to everyone.✈️
I’ve done quite a few Upper Class flights between LGW and LAS and also LHR to LAX on the 747 over the years. Personally I think it was more exclusively and had a lot more room especially since there were only 14 seats in U/C whereas on the A350 they have now got about 40 U/C seats which from the video look very close together. It’s also my understanding the seats aren’t as wide on the A350 as they were on the 747.
I loved flying with Virgin Atlantic. I wasn't feeling that well and the attendants took such good care of me. So grateful
I so much miss flying. The getting settled in routine, the gentle hum of the engines, the announcements, how everything snaps into place, all worries and problems are 30,000 feet below and the anticipation of the adventure yet to come, no matter what it is.
I miss it like I miss a hangnail.
23:48 😂😂😂😂😂😂 he is like not here baby and she's like now or never
😂
Quite the mid-century vibe going on in the Clubhouse: I haven't seen that many conversation pits in use since 1962! It is a very unique facility. Thank you for the posting, Doctor!
I never found cabin business class like this.combination futuristic and modern.I love that.
I was about to say something about the lack of social distancing and no masks...until I read the description. Then I smiled because I hope one day in the near future we’ll all be back to traveling...whenever we want✈️🙏🏻✈️
Hello pretty lady how are you
I flew 6 times last year and you obviously do not have social dist. on an aircraft...also i have never worn a mask...ever....even on a flight..:)...hopefully things normal later this year!
Another great video. I think was is truly amazing is the fact that you have such flight anxiety but are still able to make such great content while having this. This is truly an inspiration for me. I have been watching you and your content for a while and to hear you open up about being a nervous flyer really gave me more confidence. I am a nervous flyer to but love aviation and find it hard sometimes just to book trips just because I get nervous when its time to go. My channel doesn't have to many flight videos like your but you have truly given me some more to go off of now.
Thanks
Thanks for taking us on journeys, that will hopefully return. Be safe and enjoy.
I'm scheduled to fly this aircraft in two months. Can hardly wait
I panic flying. Kinda gives me a good feeling that a big traveler like you feels same way and overcome that fear 👍
Oh so miss traveling! I appreciate how you take time to go through the menu so we can read the details. Thank you!
15-18 years back, I was a frequent flier across the Atlantic and often flew Lufthansa, United, & Virgin Atlantic. The VA experience was leaps and bounds above the other two in what VA called as Upper class back then. Also a trip to the Heathrow VA lounge was something to look forward to. The on-board bar and foot massage were also welcome as a frequent long-haul traveler. I haven't been in a VA front cabin for about 15 years now and was excited to see this video. I do wonder though if the seats look smaller than they used to be back then.
We've flown Upper Class since 2004. We remember well the great massages they'd do. Excellent service always on the 744. So much fun. And the great "new" lounge at LHR. Can't wait to return after the pandemic.
Yes. My favorite is lift off. Push off just brings about a happy feeling then delivery high speed as if on a drag strip.
Being a dual USA/UK citizen, I have been flying back and forth across the pond for forty years. It began with PanAm and TWA and, later, British Airways. When Virgin Atlantic arrived I few them back and forth from LAX-LHR frequently. It was always a "fun" experience, however, the bar they used to have in the Upper Class was a nightmare: there were always obnoxious, tipsy passengers pinball-bouncing their way through the cabin, knocking into you and being obnoxiously loud. Then they would sit at the bar and get even more drunk and loud, and it was horrible, especially if you were unfortunate enough to be seated close to them. That said, they have much improved, and their seats and offerings are amongst the best - far better than BA. In fact, on some flights, the BA crew can be downright snippy, even in Business Class. I would rate Virgin very highly and recommend it to anyone, especially "foodies" and wine snobs, like myself.
Totally agree Rebecca, BA are obnoxious. Unfortunately they carry British name, bought not earned. I never fly BA where ever I go. Across the pond always Virgin and always the a350-1000
Imagine hearing coughing and sneezing on a flight now! I absolutely adore flying - that feeling of being in the airport, boarding a plane, the taxi and take-off, eagerly anticipating going somewhere new. It's seriously magic for me as I don't get to fly very often. I am the one who always films landing and take-off, as well as when we're over mountain ranges. So I've never been a nervous flyer. I've flown in Premium Economy on a return flight back to London from Jamaica (visited extended family, and to transport my grandma back "home" so she can be buried next to my grandpa). I sincerely hope that one day (when the world is somehow vaccinated, and there are no more strains) that we can get back to this time of not being so suspicious of each-other, and live our lives. Thank you so much for this video!
I miss flying on Virgin Atlantic so much! The sounds, the awesome flight attendants, the takeoff, everything! 😭 😍
Ive never been on one but if i do i hope i go upper class
This is an excellent report thanks for sharing. I so miss travelling and it is so sad to see how aviation has been impacted by this pandemic. Let’s all stay safe, be grateful for what we have and once again take to the skies when this is all over.
I have travelled several times Virgin Upper Class on my own (female oap). Staff are so good, attentive in a caring but professional way.Better than another well known British company.
That was a phenomenal video. I have never seen coverage from the tail of the plane. Thank you for showing so much of that. Generally, I watch the pilots in the cockpits. This particular flight no doubt flew directly over the house I lived in as a child in Brooklyn, NY. I used to sit in my backyard watching the planes fly over.- this was well before Virgin Atlantic was an airline. You always have such great coverage that I cannot take my eyes off the screen for a moment. By the way, I flew 55 round trips from NY or Philadelphia to London. Also a nervous flyer, but there's nothing you can do when you are over the ocean so sit back, read or watch a movie. Best to you, Jane, Philadelphia
Terrific experience! I've been in all 3 classes, and I was very happy with the service, and the comfort in premium and upper class was great each time. Lounges at JFK and Heathrow for Virgin are top notch!! Arrivals lounge at Heathrow is very welcoming.
Well that was a lovely flight, thoroughly enjoyed it. Even if it was pandemic virtual. Thankyou
Great film, thank you. You showed me something that I may never afford.
Another wonderful flight. I have never flown virgin but I've heard many good things and your video confirmed it. The lounge at Heathrow was so busy I haven't seen that in a long, long time and that was a year ago, wow! So sad to hear about the layoff so many businesses affected by the pandemic. Thank you for taking me with you.
This was by far one of the BEST videos I have every seen. I have flown all over the world in first class and you captured it perfectly Congratulations
Virgin is one of my favourite airlines, just because I think their product seems more exciting & progress that a few other, and I do like the names of all their planes...
yes I love Virgin too... they make the experience pleasurable for all, not strictly business folks...
I agree, but even though I enjoyed this seat, I wish they had gone a bit further/more creative as there are much better business class seats out there. Also the 'loft' was not used at ALL on either of my flights, I wish they'd used this for showers or something instead.
As Requested - I have actually flown quite a lot on Virgin Atlantic [at one time had 75,000 air miles] and flown twice in Upper Class, but not unfortunately on the 350 but the 330. I have now just cancelled for the second year due to Covid booked on 350 Upper Class and Virgin have been fantastic giving me open flights for the second time. I think they are fantastic and would not fly with anyone else.
As to being scared of flying - why on earth, I love it, it is after all THE SAFEST means of transport there is.
I’m going on it today
@@musarahman8784 I am booked on a A350 JFK to LHR [so I get to use the New York Clubhouse [not as good as Heathrow] and the arrivals lounge at Heathrow, which I have not used before] in April, then back on an A350 LHR to JFK in June.
Flown a lot with Virgin over the last 15 years, but never in upper class. I used to love sitting upstairs in premium economy on the 747's. I only have good things to say about the staff and the company. You are always made to feel welcome and like your business actually matters to them. Really enjoyed this video and it's convinced me to save the extra to go upper class. Thanks
One of the best lounges ever. Enjoyed it when I was there 1 year ago. VA is so under appreciated. Their afternoon tea service was the best! Looking forward to my next trip to London! Happy Holidays!
Windsor Castle at 14:03 YES! So glad you captured it as I always love to look for it shortly after takeoff from Heathrow. Excellent video and so welcome to see as I have flown VS many times and do miss them during the pandemic! Truly exceptional product , love them dearly. Thanks for posting!
It’s a dump
What a great great video I really enjoyed it! Having worked in the travel business for 20 years I really miss traveling and I am really looking forward to visit my relatives in France. I find take-offs and landings so exhilarating and they never ceases to amaze me each time! I'm not a nervous flyer however I can't say I find night flight over the ocean exactly thrilling either! Wishing you and your family a new year filled with wonderful moments and many blessings! 🌍🌎🌏🗽✈
Flying Virgin Atlantic is the BEST SERVICE and travel experience. I have traveled on VA a couple times in the past few years from Boston or Detroit to London or NY (JFK) to London.
The flight was smooth and crew very accomodating. The technology was well and entertainment selections
It’s the best. Fortunate enough to fly with them twice last year. Just outstanding.
First of all,
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us!
I've been working in aviation industry and never been tired of listening to many manufacture engines and my favorite is GE's. To make you more comfortable for flying over the oceans, aircraft's are now designed to fly minutes, if not gliding for quite hours in major Pam Pam and also land safe on water, depending on pilot skills.
Again, thanks for sharing!
I so do miss flying - after just making it back from Australia before all the lockdowns, we would have done so much this year but we're stuck at home instead.
Exactly
Same for my case
I cannot WAIT to get back on a flight! Thank you for sharing this, I miss the lounge section of the videos the most.
When it scanned other cabins; that couple in the front row- middle, that man was so uninterested & his misses was not catching on. It made me laugh
Virgin atlantic a350 is my fave airline and fave aircraft type! Thank you for bringing this to us
I have had the pleasure of flyng Upper Class on two trips to London from Seattle. I love Virgin, even with the old seats. I do sleep the best in these seats, I think because I can sleep without a foot well, I can sleep like I do at home.
The service on Virgin is fantstic and the lounge at Heathrow is amazing!
I don't think you can sleep as I do, . Meals be served and I do not know
I've flown from Boston to Shannon so many times that I couldn't count and flown to London just once. I enjoyed fly much more when I was younger but I get a little more nervous now that I'm older. I feel the same way about flying over the ocean. Funny I never flew on any domestic flights only international. Thank you it was great.
Beautiful experience, very comforting, thank you so much for this joy.
From a road warrior that has had his wings travel wings clipped in 2020, the sound of take-off and landing was music to my ears.
Yes. Last time consider noise. Now is music. I miss those beautiful crew
I flew from San Francisco to London on Virgin, was a wonderful experience and the service was some of the best. Very comfortable, food was good, the staff were top notch. Great airline.
The presentation of this video is exceptional. I love VA. My last flight was Heathrow to LAX on VA in March 2020 right before the world closed. I'm looking forward to flying VA again in 2022.
Love love love Virgin Atlantic. Have been fortunate enough to fly many times in upper class to Orlando and Atlanta. Service is excellent, the little joys like afternoon tea and a real tablecloth on your tray, which looks like it has been replaced unfortunately . It's the little extras that make it lovely. Enjoyed seeing the new seats for my next flight with them when the pandemic is over although it looks like even those are getting narrower.. Also I love hearing the plane take off. I put a u tube video on sometimes just to hear it and get the feel.
I could only dream of flying like this, how wonderful it must be. So exciting.
You actually dream that you want to fly and live just a asshole for a while, crack on.
@@mrfugazi6713 I think we have established who the asshole is here and it’s not me darling! Have a good evening.
@@lipglossfairy76 I was only winding you up that’s all it was I apologise to you okay have you ever traveled on any of his trains by any chance, because if you have you would know what a load of trash they really are I have and I found it to believe what a terrible state they really were and it wasn’t very long ago that he begging the government for money to pay his staff during the lockdown I mean the staff that work in virgin media offices I don’t know if he still owns the island but if he does perhaps he should sell that before asking the government for money to his staffs wages or that’s what I think anyway you have a good evening also okay and take care of yourself from Stevie boy in Britain
How I miss travelling 🧳 Hope 2021 will be a Good Year for it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I was in the travel industry for over 30 years, and this brings back wonderful memories. I especially liked that rear camera mounted on the plane...so awesome! Hopefully, we will be able to travel again freely at some point. Thank you for sharing your experiences!
I for one have flown over the Pacific several times and have never been anxious.
Virgin is defintiely the best british airline in my view, theyre just so much more kind and understand the needs of passengers more than BA
Indeed very stylish look. Great review as always! 👍🎄
I love your videos! They're filmed in a way that's so relaxing. They are a great escape!
What a nice flight! Yes, I am a nervous flyer as well! It's been years since I have flown; when I was in the US Air Force in the early 1980's I flew over to Europe several times. I didn't like the idea of nothing but water below for so long but the flights were still nice. Of course we didn't have the entertainment systems and other niceties that modern aircraft have. There was just one movie to watch or you could listen to music through the headphones, but there wasn't much variety. But todays aircraft are equipped with much more entertainment so that helps take your mind off of flying. I enjoy these flights that you and others post. Thanks!
I travel Virgin Atlantic to London and back to the US every year. I have only ever traveled economy but I am always made to feel special. It's my dream to travel business class just once in my life!
Hello pretty lady
How much does that cost?
@@13_Kas Usually around $640 round trip, straight through ( no layover). A great price if you book a few months ahead. This year I would guess it will be at least $1,000 and the cost of any covid travel testing and additional quarantine. Looks like I will have to wait a little longer to see my family. It's been a long two years!
Thank you for responding!
Watching these excellent videos makes me miss flying so much more. There is no better feeling than boarding a plane heading on the first day of your vacation (or not).
It'll be almost a year since I last did my mileage runs and it feels so long ago.
Edit: 32-inch monitors? Did I read that right? Whoa, Branson spends the pretty penny in Upper Class.
It's not 32 Inches. It's 18.5 Inches.
Exquisite Video! Magnificent Lounge! Beautiful Upper Class Indeed! My Friend You Always Deliver! Hopefully We Will Be Returning Soon To Such Great Times In The Air And On The Ground! 💖💕
Sitting here drinking red wine watching these videos... so sick of this pandemic
Yes, I love takeoffs almost as much as I love landings! Hope to be visiting Europe in July 2021! Come on, people, we can do this!
I live in London
And July is my birthday
That was excellent viewing, I really enjoyed that. I am a regular Virgin and Delta flyer by my own choice and insistence.
I am always treated as if I am the only passenger on the aircraft, even when I have flown in economy. They take hospitality to great heights.
It was nice to see the clubhouse again, I have enjoyed time in there too.
My next flight is from Heathrow to Atlanta and onboard an A350.
It will be my first time on this aircraft and also in upper class. My appetite has well and truly been whetted, thank you for sharing this video.
yeah same here I only fly Delta anywhere in the US and when it comes to international flights I book them Via delta and they partner with whoever so you still get points for it!! So awesome!
great video i have travelled virgin to las vegas many times always economy missed my trip 2020 so upper class 2021 cant wait
I'm nervous flying. Period. One of the reasons I love these videos. Helpful tips. PLEASE.
Yes, I’ve flown Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy round trip from Atlanta to London Heathrow. It was the best flight I’ve ever taken.
I think if I heard that metal on metal screeching sound...I would be running for the exit!
the engine sound was bliss Thank you
Flew with Virgin once from JFK to London Heathrow !!! Amazing flight , super friendly and great service . Will fly with them again on my next trip to England
This awful pandemic has ruined so much in the world and travelling overseas is one of the main things I miss.😭✈️😷🌏
Me too 😢
Well with vaccines being rolled out long haul will be back next year, my guess by May/June many flights will be reinstated but not all of course.
@@paullewis2413 my family had planned to go to London next year but because of the pandemic, as long as everything settles down fingers crossed we will be over there 2022.🤞🤞🙏🙏🇦🇺 to 🇬🇧

Nice! Love it all! I also wanna travel in first class! Yay
That was a great flight/information shared , hoping nxt year I can make my regularly summer trip back to London and you have just encourage me to fly with virgin . I really hope this pandemic begin to clear up soon .
That's a very nice way to travel. Virgin Atlantic are a professional, polished and enjoyable airline to fly with.
When will you start reviewing U.S. hotels like Mark Hotel, Hotel Bel Air, Beverly Wilshire or Palms Palace?
Waiting eagerly for 'em! :D
So glad that you DID NOT mention trump towers
Curvy Flight attendant?!?! Really Impressive...👍👍 Good job Virgin Atlantic
I flew Virgin Atlantic 747 from LAX to LGW in 1991 (No service to Heathrow yet) coach. The TV was amazing. I saw "Kids in the Hall" for the first time. Months later, on the flight back, Heathrow was working from LHR to LAX. I recall the flight being hot and sunny, 11 hours. I thought Virgin Atlantic was great and would use it again, but I haven't been to the UK since. I've flown to AMS, but VA doesn't have service there from the states, of course.
Beautifully plating & meal looks so yummy .... wooooow amazing purple cabin luuuuuuuv Virgin so much 😍
I used to be nervous when younger when flying - when the wheels went up into the plane the noise frightened me. The only scare I have had for a very long time was two years ago when the plane came in to the runway sideways due to very strong wind - I though for certain we were going to crash with the very rough landing. Turbulence no longer bothers me anymore.
Right before covid I had a connection through Dallas. Planes were lined up for as far back as we could see due to strong crosswinds causing delays in takeoff. The pilots were in line waiting for the tower to tell them when it was safe enough for takeoff. That was the scariest takeoff of my life and I've traveled the world on many flights. When we lifted you could hear a pin drop in the entire cabin. The planes we watched take off ahead of us would go sideways because of the wind and ours was doing the same. That was the only time I truly was afraid.
@@mmc9828 I know how you felt. For the landing I note above I used language that I never use in public. There are many videos on RUclips that show the sideway landings if you want to relive the experience :------>))
@@jerryofsanfrancisco Have you ever seen "EasyJet: Inside the Cockpit"? It's a great short series - in season 2, episode 3, one of the pilots keeps having to deal with windy weather. It's nice to hear his perspective though.
@@flyingsquirrel5213 thanks Flying Squirrel, had not seen this before, did look at your recommendation, will be looking again at more
One of the most beautiful and sexy aircraft one can fly. Marvel of super engineering 👍
I would NEVER "skip the lounge tour"--THAT'S why I watch!!!!!!!
Thank u for video :) 😊🙃🏴🇬🇧went 2 nyc first time last sept with virgin from London 2 JFK airport in economy class:) great airline :) and great experience with them :), oneday when this is over i love 2 go back 2 nyc 🙃😊
Nice modern A350. But nothing beats 4 engine Jumbo full power takeoff.
I'm a nervous flyer when there's turbulent. If I knew I was going to take more than 5 hours of flight, I normally would not sleep for 24 hours before the departure day. I'll eat and rehydrate well before take-off and make sure bladder is empty before I go to sleep. Over the years, I've learned to sleep with seatback straight and I make sure I book in advance to get the window seat. This way, no one will interrupt me while I continue sleeping. By the time the plane takes off, I would be too knackered to care of what's going on surrounding me. I'd be fresh and alert by the time they landed. It also helped me a lot for the first 24 hours of arriving in a different time zone.
I have a suggestion: give up flying - I did - it's liberating
@@estant5129 I can't follow your example. I'm not 89 years old yet.
@@unrealladynoshoes3554 You mightn't reach 89 if you don't give up flying XXX
Very nice video as usual - don't see one of your videos with NYC too often! I hope you had a great time before this whole mess - actually quite nice in the winter, especially when many attractions are open.
I was (and still am) a nervous flyer, but not nearly as afraid after flying in a plane for the first time last year. Thankfully, the one member of our party with plane experience was able to talk the other two of us through some stuff. Our flight out of JFK (heading to the UK) was in the evening - no water to look at the first time out, and it was awesome seeing it get darker rather quickly. Coming back was a bit different - daytime, lots of water to look at, a bit more turbulence - but it wasn't long before we wanted to do it all again.
As for dealing with being nervous, I had found a video by Captain Sully (pilot who had to glide plane onto Hudson River to prevent catastrophe) about turbulence. His suggestion of imagining being in a plane while you're riding in a car on a bumpy road helped greatly! Other videos, including yours, with personal flying experiences were also reassuring. Hopefully, we'll be able to travel again freely (by road or air) soon!
Awesome video! I absolutely love Virgin Atlantic, my first experience of the A350-1000 was that beauty next to you at 10:18 G-VPOP, LHR-JFK in Premium Economy. Although the Queen Of The Skies the 747-400 is now a piece of history for VS, the A350-1000 will do her proud as the replacement. I am very, very much looking forward to my Upper-Class experience in 2021.
That lounge is something else... personally I’m a big fan of the Lufthansa lounge you visited, I’m not sure why. I’m loving this BC, looks stunning.
Nice work Mr Tourguide
We've done Upper Class on their older aircraft, and the last time (Oct 2019) on the Dreamliner. The placement of the window seats is away from the window (silly design) and you have to be a pretzel to get your headphones plugged in. Very hard to locate and fit whilst you're sitting. I didn't find the seats that comfortable, felt the padding was too thin. We've had excellent service, and indifferent service. A mixed bag!
but once you get on the A350 i bet that box will be ticked off :)
Wow, that tail camera makes it feel real, as if on board. The sounds are great, do so much look forwards to flying again, my last trip was to New York Christmas 2019.
My last trip was to San Francisco Christmas 2019
My plan next year (2022) is to finally travel to NY for my birthday. And I’m planning on treating myself to flying upper class with Virgin. Can’t wait
Remember a year ago when the biggest problem in flying was the new Upper Class tray table being too big for anyone with a belly? The good old days...
A very nice video! Merry Christmas! Stay healthy! 🎄
Oh yes the sound of those Rolls Trents... very emotive for us nerds!
I love the virgin safety video it never gets old!
Amazing 😍
