Hopefully you get the correct version for the last song(s) because there are versions out there that cut the ending which would be a total disaster.
    I strongly suggest this: ruclips.net/video/v6wcQ4ZewU0/видео.html
It contains the last 3 tracks, seamlessly transitioning like on the album. (with lyrics of course)
    I think that's essential.

@@ThomasJ_Music I’ll second that upon checking the link, THiS is a good source for the last 3 tracks (beginning with “Waiting for 22”) to be played without cuts or interruptions that some links delete and this one thats posted above by Sharkey9 is also a lyric video as well. 👍

Don't panic about the religion! All will be revealed I promise!
I saw them do this live and in the first track Geoff turned around and on the back of his jacket was simply the word "Bastard" which blends in with what the nurse says at the start! I must admit it made me smile. Glad you are enjoying this fabulous album!

Such a great concept album. I remember when I first heard this when it came out it reminded me of Pink Floyd The Wall with all the commentary in between the tracks. It gets better, and deeper as it goes on. It will all come together in the end. Keep rockin!

I absolutely love the bass sound that Eddie Jackson used in those days (punchy, powerful, and clear). His tone, as well as those used by D.D. Verne (Overkill) and Rex (Pantera), are exactly what drummers like myself look for in a rhythm section. Loving the reactions! Keep rockin' 🤘

The religion comment in Speak relates to the previous line: "I'm bent on submission"... It implies he grew up with religion which caused submissive behavior. Can't wait till you get to Suite: Sister Mary, a masterpiece!

One of the best concept albums/music album of all time!!!
A fun fact for you: The solo in Operation Mindcrime is a two parted solo with both
Michael and Chris doing one part each. They were so tight together playing as one person it is
hard to hear them apart. They played this way together in Queensryche and made the guitars unique
    in that way.
I lived with this album when it came out for about a year listening to nothing else, analyzing every meaning, sound
effects, solos and so on. I still go back to this album and the power it had then and still, sadly today 30+ years later.
Another fun fact: Chris Degarmo (guitar) said back then in an interview when he got the question on if they are trying
    to overtrow the government?
His response was: Hey man! We're just writing about cars and women and stuff!
    I just love that answer.
    Be safe
    Björn

i don't think it's a spoiler to say they weren't promoting communist revolution with this album. it's more of a tale of personal tragedy that takes place in that setting, and a bit of a cautionary tale.

Speaking in a very general sense, communism is an atheistic worldview...it views both capitalist and religion as equally evil. I cannot comment further on this now, for fear of delivering a spoiler.
Chris DeGarmo is one of the most criminally underrated metal guitarists of all time, as you are being shown. The same can be said for Queensryche's rhythm section.
If you think there's tension NOW...hehe!
This album absolutely HAUNTED me when it came out...I literally could not remove it from my tape player for a month! Every time I tried to change, it, I would end up putting it back in. Easily Queensryche's best work...they began to hit their stride in earnest on the previous album ("Rage for Order"), and attained commercial success on the album which followed this one ("Empire"), but the creative peak was definitely this album.
    God bless!!

I agree. I was a teenager sitting in my room, headphones blaring, reading the lyrics, and listening along with all the scenes in between the songs, and was amazed how it was a complete story. I believe that is the best way to experience this awesome album.

@@RaiderRoy1020 Operation: Mindcrime, along with King Diamond's "THEM" (which was also released in good ol' 1988) initiated me into the world of concept albums. They allow the songwriter freedom to delve deeper into the vision they're trying to create, and it provides the listener a more submersive experience that is hard to achieve otherwise.

Glad you pointed out the bass - Eddie Jackson’s tone is killer on this album. In track 4, it’s like an underpinning punch to the gut during the sustained guitar notes. He’s awesome throughout - wait until the chorus of track 6 - Eddie’s on fire. Pay attention to Scott Rockenfield on drums in track 6 as well. He steps up the intensity. And in track 7, you get to hear Tate’s full range. It’s a great performance. Man, i can’t wait! And about the story - you’re doing fine. More will be clear tomorrow. Cheers!
