This was very helpful. Especially showing how easy it is to removing the lower basket to clean that needle. One addition... I initially repeating this method several time but it was not working. Water would sputter out and the solid lights would turn off, but then come back on right away. I lightly bounced the unit to help dislodge anything stuck, repeated the process once more and it worked! Whew... my wife Needed her coffee!! Thank You!

Awesome video- you are great instructor! I did all this.. no harm done.. I have a cleaner machine! but water still would not come through.. I have a different version of the DUO with the Silver Carafe as the "pot".. as I was continuing to meddle and about to try another cycle with my paper clip I realized the large basket (for when you are making a full pot) was slightly ajar.. when I pushed that back in tightly the water came out- and clear (since I just did all that cleaning!). I had no idea the large basket being loose would impact trying to make a Keurig single cup. FYI in case that helps anyone else! I never even attempt to fix anything myself- but Caffeine cravings will create miracles ;-)

Mine stopped making single cups and although the "descale" light was not on, I did it anyway. Afterward it made several single cups and several pots and then the descale light came on. WTH?? So, I did the paperclip thing and ran a cup with no K cup and there were grounds in the cup. I did it a couple more times and when there were no more grounds in the cup, I ran a cup with a pod. Worked perfectly. I have made several cups with pods since and a couple pots and it works as it should. So, THANK YOU!

After having a single Kcup maker for years we craved a pot being made on the weekends. We wanted a water reservoir for the single cup so we didn’t have to pour water in every cup but the other models it fed the water to the coffee pot to so by the time we made one pot we’d have no water left. This model has the traditional pour in feature for the pot and the reservoir for the cup which works great for us. Love how there is a bunch of holes pouring the water over the coffee, makes it taste much better. Only drawback I have is the way the lid is angled on the pot section it’s hard to get the last bit of water out of the pot into the machine without it spilling somewhere else.
It's still not working right! I cleaned it twice! I used to be able to get a lot of coffee w the 12 c mark(Keurig side). Now it's barely 8-10. What else could be wrong?

Do you have a fix for the leaking carafe. I'm on the second one from company. I still have same issue of coffee pouring on my counter as I pour a cup full. It leaks around plastic rim.
good info on cleaning the needles...however did not solve my issue...after descaling, the machine (Keurig Duo) is dispensing more water than it should...usually two ounces or more...10 cup pour will dispense about 12 to 14 ounces of water...any thoughts ?

After descaling I only get a lot of noise and a few drops of water. I cleaned the needles but nothing I very rarely use the k-cups but use the carafe side daily. HELP!

Well, the whole machine just basically blew up. Less than 2 years old, out of warranty. Supposed to last 5 years min. Customer service said can’t do anything else to fix. I wrote in expressing my disappointment.
Check this, brand new system and they sent it without the bottom half of the kcup plastic cup, no needle on the bottom just open hollow shaft. Returned the piece of junk for refund.

thanks made a noticeable improvement. do you know if there is a way to gain access to the area above the top needle I think thats where my blockage is
I tried its really hard to open that area up, but one thing you can do is maybe take the cover off and blow air in a line going to the top needle.

A clogged needle can cause this. and have you descaled it lately. run vinegar through it.
