I've been doing exactly the same thing, my G Pygmy will be here Monday. I've had a D Celtic for a year, but I think the G Pygmy is rapidly becoming my favorite.
Hi Johannes thanks for your comments, I would recommend doing some drum rudiments and patterns and then moving that over to the Rav Vast. Once you have the rhythm you can then mix things up.It’s all just practice and coming up with your own style I guess!
That was a beautiful composition and a nice demonstration of flow. I recently acquired a rav vast G pygmy and it has a total of 9 tongues and I could not help but notice that your instrument has 10 tongues. That is a Curious Thing
Hi Tim. This is only 9 notes too, It just looks like an extra one the camera angle I think. Definitely only 9 notes here. Some of them have an extra note positioned out of the symmetrical pattern but not sure if they do with this tuning... I don’t think so though
HI, I use two mics, will link the video below on which mics I use, which you will probably find helpful. Thanks! ruclips.net/video/HA-jwu_3PUY/видео.html
Your slap sounds better than on my g pygmy and i have the same one...its a bit more metallic. Do you filter that in your pc? Or is it because of the rope? Yours looks very bright....
It could be a variety of factors tbh, the microphone and position and room treatment. Do you do any eq to your track? The rope would actually subdue the slap sounds acting as a dampener. I do slight eq and some reverb etc. Nothing too much as I find it detrimental
@@RobertStubbs i have not recorded a own track. Still working...I have the focusritesolo, too. I will buy me rope to fix a bit. It really sounds like i need a demper while comparing the sound. The metallic slap is irritating me, while i practise. Thanks for answer. Think the rope will fix it a little. Would be enough...its just a little too metallic.....
@@klauskonrad7159 that’s cool, the focusrite is good it does the job. You could turn some of the top end / high frequency down in your DAW but, the rope does help too. If you are using a stand then that will also increase the intensity of those sounds you don’t want, Good luck
Dankeschön ❤👍🏻
Eine wunderbare Art ein RAV-Drum zu spielen, super.
Thankyou!!
binging rav g pygmey videos cause i’m about to finally have my own 😭💕 this scale is otherworldly..
Good choice 👍

Absolutely brilliant. Keep the uploads going :)
Thanks man, I have some more coming soon!
I love the off-beat percussion mixed in with the melody! I got visions of being on a hunt, and pausing to survey moonlit lands.
That’s awesome, glad you like it Jon
Nicely done, and great job on recording and mastering. Makes me want mine even more...Monday can't come soon enough ;)
Thanks..Hope you are happy with the new Rav!
I need one of those. Great performance, it sounds fantastic!

Thankyou Celeste!!! :)
Great love it! Love your rhythm! Do you have tips for online sources to learn such patterns?

Nice work and great sound. My experience was quite hypnotic and powerful. Is that a rav version 1 pygmy or rav 2 pygmy.
Thanks for sharing 🙏😊
Thankyou! I think it’s just the version 1 hope that helps
I'm in UK btw.
Love it! :)
Thanks Mate!!

@@RobertStubbs I think what it was is that your playing was so skillful and smooth that I thought there were 10 notes, well done.
its hard to tell, is that a black finish on it? love the rope edge too 🙏🏻 my g pygmy comes in the mail any day now!
Yeah it’s interesting, I thought it was going to come with the metallic finish but this is a dark blue! That’s awesome enjoy they are great
What microphone are you using, really picks up the sound nicely. Great playing by the way.

Nice piece! Where did you get the braid?
Thanks, it was from Rav vast themselves.
