Came here through Alex Honnold's podcast. Such a crazy and inspiring story! Jamie, if you read this, I truly love and admire your courage of coming out after all these years. In a way, this must have been more dreadful than the Emperor Face, I might imagine. I heard you say in the podcast that you are though enough to deal with any people who don't understand and I, we, stand with you. Also here in the comments there are people who confuse religion with excluding people and confuse the most deeply personal decisions with politics. I dare say the vast majority of the climbing community are truly open-minded and are less vocal. Although I feel disgust and anger at some people's ignorance, I also feel sorry they are so deeply stuck in their own views they don't realise how unnecessary and hurtful it is to thrust them upon other people. I am not religious at all, but had a deeply religious upbringing. Jesus, if he ever lived, sided with outcasts and people who were not understood ,and promoted love. I think that is the right message. Let people be and love anyone who tries to be the best version of themselves.
I am Sherry's first husband and Jim's former business partner. They fell in love and made a new family. Two of my most favorite people in my life. I have nothing but love and respect for their choices. Let people be themselves and let people live and love in their way. Thank you Jamie and Sherry. It's good to "see" you. All the best
Great film and climbing work ! That for sure takes lots of effort, selfdiscipline and courage. All this values can take anyone wherever they want to go or achieve. So finding your true identity in this world against mayority maybe as difficult as climbing high walls. However you're at the top on the search of yourself findind your happiness too. The support by your people must be essential , specially that of your wife Sherry, an amazing woman we love dearly here in Potugal were she does her art residency. She brings lots of love and support to us. Kisses to both and good luck on your actual and future proyects. Good health and lots of love. ❤🥰🙏
I'm a trans femme in a red state life. Building copper and slate roofs, and Climbing, and Stagehand carpentry for 20 years. always alienated by the male "influence" in the building and action sports cultures. Thanks for this Jamie.
Great video. I'm a straight male and would be honored to climb with you Jamie. A bit envious you get to climb with the great Nina Williams. Also, your wife's prints are amazing.
It seems quite evident that her wife embraces the change and loves her. Looks as though your projecting your insecurities onto this family and your comment is frankly quite rude.
okay one, you can use "she" and "her" when talking about Jamie, calling someone what they ask you to call them is just common decency. Two, no, while it's absolutely true that having a family member come out as trans can be emotionally difficult and requires time to process, if you actually love someone then you should be happy to see them live authentically. As was already pointed out, Sherry clearly loves Jamie just the same as she did when Jamie was pre-transition
Your comment shows just how ignorant and/or misinformed you are. As someone who is the mother of a trans daughter I can assure you that I never had a “poor me” attitude or feeling about her coming out. From the moment she told me that she knew she was truly a woman, I went from seeing her as my son to honoring and loving her as another daughter. I haven’t lost anything; I’ve gained so much in watching her deal with others’ reactions with dignity. She is fierce and I lover her with no reservations. Also, why did you watch the video?
Look at the “trust the science” crew eschewing all biological science and reality since its inception. This is a man. He has been since the moment his father’s sperm met his mother’s egg. He will be until the day he dies. And if his bones are dug up 40,000 years from now, plain observation and DNA testing will reveal that he was, indeed, a man.
Hey, Arc’Teryx. I used to sell your stuff. I worked as a retail employee and then climbing guide wearing your stuff. I just tonight pulled my Arc’Teryx harness out of the closet in preparation for taking some friends out on their first rock climbing experience this Sunday. If it rains, I will be wearing my Alpha SV that has seen countless miles, pitches, and summits. My question is, why make a movie about such a divisive topic? Do you think that the only people that use your gear are far leftists? This is CLEARLY a political topic. Do you really think anyone chooses your gear based on your politics? I can tell you what worked for me when I sold your products. I explained how you guys used cutting edge technologies that you PIONEERED to produce superior products. I explained how you used Gore-Tex, and why it was better. I explained how you had the touches that mattered, like foam strips in the hem of your jackets to keep it tucked into your harness, or how your harness had bigger gear loops, and was lighter, or that every hood you made would accommodate a helmet, and your pockets were designed to work with pack and climbing harnesses. Never once, in the 7 years that I sold your product and another 5+ of guiding did anyone ever ask where you stood on politics. When I moved out of the outdoor professions, but then got a group of coworkers to sign on to a year long journey to prepare to climb Rainier, I STILL recommended your gear. When I was asked why it was far more expensive than the rest, did ANYONE ask about your politics? No. They were persuaded to buy Alpha and Beta shells, Cerium LTs, Atom LTs, because I told them THAT THE PRODUCTS WERE THE BEST. I felt confident telling them that because I had experienced it. Then, I see this. I saw this as an ad, and clicked through to the full video to confirm what I thought I was seeing. I am done. You have received your final recommendations from me. Is that going to hurt your bottom line? No. But pushing this POLITICAL IDEOLOGY will not help it, either. I am aware that the climbing community skews left, maybe as much as 80%. But not a single one of that 80% would have stopped buying your gear because you failed to make this ad/video. You will lose customers over this.
Absolutely psychotic that you watched this and went on to make the decision to write out this whole ass book worth of inconsiderate sociopathic trash lol go play with ur cheap lil pew pews, boy
We can tell you have a lot of big emotions about this, kiddo, and that’s ok - but hating on others isn’t a healthy response to all those things you’re suppressing. When you’re ready to come out too we’ll all support you!!🏳️⚧️❤️
@@bruce2078 thanks for your support, Brad. I’m not sure where you saw me “hating on others” in the comment you’re referencing, but that’s a typical response. Either believe in my delusion, or you’re a bigot. The fact that that is your tactic to change my mind should tell you how indefensible your position really is. I’m just glad to know that when I finally DO come out later in life, despite being married, having biological children, and all of that (just like “Jamie” in the video), I will have confused white knights like you to help me propagate my delusion. Thanks, Brent.
1. Why do you care? This doesn’t affect you. 2. The climbing community is >99% leftist/socialist. You are the problem. 3. I have never bought Arc’teryx, I’ve been a lifelong Patagonia user due to their outspoken activism for trans people, but seeing this motivated me to try some Arc’teryx gear. And I’m a guide, so they don’t need you. 4. Being trans is not political and affects absolutely nobody. Find something actually important to complain about or stfu.
No offense to Jamie Logan or anyone who has placed importance on the unimportant but when there is calamity, the true things that matter in life show themselves. To add upon and to magnify, without God, purpose is meaningless. God is important, climbing is not, God is important, what you identify as is not, we are all made in His image. We are called to love one another, not to be confused with accepting of or tolerance. The world does not tolerate the Christian but the Christian is to tolerate world? No... 1 John 2:15, Romans 12:9, John 3:16 (For all of those offended, the heart of this matter is not offensive to the truth but a calling for glory to God and immortality for you the reader.) Jesus is King 👑
What is importance is subjective and personal. It is not absolute, or black/white. I am so sick of religionists who think that they can decide this for anyone else. Your comment is not productive.

Love seeing climbing videos that are about way more than just climbing. Such a rad story that deserved to be told!
Thank you for this video. I really appreciate the fact that this company is being inclusive, and I love the fact that people are sending!
Now they need to make a film about all of Jaime's amazing green architecture.
It was a pleasure met you today at the Flatirons. What an inspiring story ❤. I hope to see you again around and climb with you one day 😊

So nice and inspiring!! 💜
Yassss, get it Jamie!
I want that print of her in the bushes with the picture frame! How do I get my hands on that?
So inspiring, always great to see other trans climbers thriving
Both of my two previous posts here were pro Jamie and they both got the chop?
❤

His poor wife and kids...
@billkinter6914 You don't stop loving someone because they're sick. I feel bad for all the parties involved, hopefully he finds help and guidance

Nothing (really) against religions. But you do know they are just pure fantasy of humans, right?
God might be important to you, but not to me! Some things are personal and better kept to yourself. Cheers!
You’re insane. Nuff said
You know that when you say `no offence ` and then proceed to offend , anyway why on earth are you watching this if you don't like climbing. Weird
