I had a senior friend whom put up a lot of climbs in New Zealand. We did multi pitch climbs together starting in the dark & finishing in the dark.Share a beer together and then split. He was an absolute legend in my eyes. He'd be frustrated about his abilities yet he were stronger than most guy a third his age.His perception and outlook on things were so freed of the dogma of most people. This Doco brought back some nice memories 😌 ✌️ Respect!

This was spectacular! I love not only their amazing friendship, but the support they give each other on the rock. I was rock climber for 23 years and had to give it up due to a painful foot condition. I miss it every day, so watching this video really hit deep in my soul. As we age, we cannot do the things we did in our youth, at least not to the same extent. I totally understand why Mark got emotional at the summit. Bravo Mark and Jordan!

I’m a young guy who just got into climbing outdoors with a couple buddies late last year and I can only hope to be making memories like these two soon… of course not quite the age discrepancy but just the way they support each other is inspiring. I’ve been on a few trips with them so far but these big wall climbs are legit adventures

In college, I was good friends with Todd Skinner and Paul Piana, who did what is generally acknowledged as the first free ascent of El Cap. We were all climbing geeks, like Jordan, and two of our favorite articles in Climbing magazine were about the free climbing exploits of Mark and Max - I think the articles were titled "The Art of the States" and "The State of the Art," or something like that.
Now Todd and Paul generated their share of controversy, but that is not of concern to me. Several years ago I got a mountain bike shuttle at Lake Tahoe, and our driver was Max Jones! (He owns the shuttle company.) After all the riders got their bikes and left, I mentioned to Max that I had been friends with Todd, and that we were great admirers of he and Mark. Max told me that had met Todd and the two of them had a great conversation. He seemed to be a gracious and humble man, as Mark appears to be, as well. Hats off to them!

I honor another old Sierra climber: Reggie Donatelli. Reggie put up First, Second, and First Winter Ascents throughout the Sierras in the 50's and 60's, notably First Winter Ascent of Mt. Morrison. I worked with him at a long time sporting goods store at Lake Tahoe, The Outdoorsman. He was also small of stature but great in Spirit. We went climbing together, skiing together, and played volleyball on the beach together when he was in his late '60s. RIP Reggie. ( & Bob!)
