My mom's parents lived in the U.S during the early 90's and since I was the first grandchild, for my 7th birthday I got the tiger stripe wolverine and the x factor cyclops . We lived down here in Chile and during the 90's it was hard to get cool toy biz toys, but I was soooo lucky. Till this day, everytime I see or hear about x men , I always remember my grandparents, who are still alive and well in new York!!!
I like to think that Bishop was the brain child creation of combining Carl Weathers from Action Jackson and Darrell (Eric LaSalle) from Coming to America. Although, some versions of Bishop remind me 1000% of Terry Crewes, either bald or with the mullet, doesn't matter.
This is the kind of mish mash idea I'm here for! There are also rumors that his costume was based off something Gary Coleman wore on the cover on an Electric Company magazine!
Yep exactly. It made him look slightly better. The second magneto was much better but I did hate the sparking chest having a window in it. because my favorite magneto from the old Biz line was age of Apocalypse.
I agree - that sucks. It is really sad a kid or collector can’t watch the show - get excited - then go down to their local store and pick up the toys. My Target is always empty shelves and I simply pre-order everything to ensure I get the stuff I want. I couldn’t agree with you more - this is a very broken aspect of our hobby
Actually, Bishop's hairdo looked nothing like Eriq LaSalle's jherri curl hairdo. It looks more like Eddie Murphy's hairstyle from Vampire in Brooklyn. I prefer fabric capes (or at least non-stiff pvc).
They still gave us two Magneto's in the first two waves. That 2nd Magneto coulda been released later, or just been a chase fig. He took the place of Morph or Mystique or Beast or Charles Xavier.

I thought the original Rogue figure from ‘94 looked visually good. But everything else about it was horrible. If memory serves correctly, her head didn’t turn due to her hair. She had a punching action where she punched up, but it looked more like she was punching herself in the head. And, at least on mine, the mechanism was so sensitive it went off constantly just by touching the figure itself, not even the trigger on her back. Oh, and her legs were abnormally far apart as though she’d spent the entire night getting kinetically charged by Remy.
That SvX Rogue is objectively and significantly worse than the original S7 release, which granted isn’t great but to say otherwise is wild! Great video though!
That canon weapon (taken from Sentinels!!🔥) was awesome in the animation. That old school X-cutioner figure is nice! I think I need to hunt that one down😂❤..... I did not pick up all the figs. In the 2 waves that are out, I only picked up Wolverine, X-cutioner, Nightcrawler, and the purple uniform Magneto. Can't wait to see what they have for wave 3🔥
Mmm maybe a red LED could work? Or like the Transformers ones that have clear plastic inside and a little part on the back that when it recieves light the eyes light up (sorry 4 my Bad English i'm still learning 🤞) or on the larger beam efect could go a red led stripe inside , i'm asuming that its for only display so the interruptor could be hiden on a base or the back of something

Love the video also I’ve been watching x men 97 recently and it’s amazing
It's so good! Just watched the first two episodes yeaterday
Not part of the main line, but Toybiz did put out a Goblin Queen figure in the Mutant X line
The 1st toy biz magneto actually came with a purple cape that attached jus like batman super powers figure did
Man, what did they do to Bishop? They took his beautiful locks and gave him generic BM haircut #2
They took his Soul Glo, man!
I saw the video and ordered myself Gambit and Nightcrawler
That SvX Rogue is objectively and significantly worse than the original S7 release, which granted isn’t great but to say otherwise is wild! Great video though!
That is the beauty of this hobby - there is something for everyone!
What year did the x men 97 marvel legends figures come out?
They are new - first wave in late 2023, second wave earlier this year - I should have some affiliate links if you want to pick them up
That canon weapon (taken from Sentinels!!🔥) was awesome in the animation.
I’m really disappointed in the red 97 magneto from Hasbro. Significantly undersized and he has gangly limbs.
I haven’t really thought that
There was one other Goblin Queen figure from Toy Biz years ago in their Mutant X line
Wow - I had no idea that line existed!
@@CarbonScoring they were actually some really great looking figures in that line
@@ParKent3027*looks it up* DAAAAY-YUMMM
I like the new stuff but man the old stuff is so cool man I guess I’m stuck in the 80s and 90s 😂😂😂😂
i remeber having the old wolverine, cyclops and gambit figures, they wgere awesome :P
The writing has been fantastic and I’m so so surprised by that from Disney
Still have my X-Factor and 90's Cyclops as well :3
Magnetos original 90s figure actually did have a cape
Yep - missed that too
Why is Rogue holding a glove if she is wearing 2 gloves? Am I missing something? Awesome figure either way.
It’s like magic!
She has an extra gloveless hand not shown here
@@CarbonScoringso many gloves! So many hands! (I looked it up and realized I was indeed missing something)
Can anyone custom a cyclops head that has a laser pointer inside?
That would be cool! Dangerous, but cool
Man the X-Men 97’ Magnito is almost perfect just a bit undersized.
23:51 actually, his first appearance is 266 and NOT 226.
You are right - I totally goofed that up
@@CarbonScoring no worries. You’re so busy trying to produce this quality content, hard to have all the facts off the top of your head. Keep up the great work 🍻
We need a crop-top gambit figure
Kinda creepy, but I’d pick it up!
Have u seen mafex figures i think those are elite i had to get thr magneto from that line and im getting the cyclops and gambit next
I have - in fact, the Gambit will be featured in the video I am dropping on Saturday where I update my main X-Men display!
Carbon scoring the x-cautioner the see-through cylinder that came on the gun is supposed to be on there just telling you I hope you didn’t throw it out. It looks fine without it but it’s like supposed to be on it.
I wish bishop still had his jerrycurls
Damn straight!
I have all of series 1 of the new figures. I have the Cyclops and Jean from the new wave. I'd like to get the rest of them.
You should pick them up (I think I have some links if you are interested) - they are all fantastic
@@CarbonScoring I'll have to check. The only reason I got those two is because I found them at Walmart near me.
