I love how the whole episode, Fizz avoided playing around with his extendo limbs, and then during "Fuck You" he just rips off his sleeves finally revealing his disability- his imperfections- to the audience
I really liked this bit. The whole time we have seen him, he's been literally all over the place with his limbs. And then we get to this episode and he stays so contained, so constricted, so comparatively small despite being on the big stage. It really adds to the shift during FU.
Danny… the reason he’s ‘Froggy’ is because his voice got noticeably raspier and croakier after the fire. It’s also why his limbs are all mechanical and probably why he knows sign language. There’s a good chance after that fire he needed extensive physical therapy and likely couldn’t speak for a while considering the fireworks blew up directly in his face.

I keep seeing that sign language theory. My only issue with is that the fire literally burned his arms to the bone. Unless you mean to say that he got the prosthetic arms and learned to manipulate the prosthetic arms into understandable sign language *before* his voice healed, that really doesn't make any sense.
Sometimes people just learn sign language because it's cool to talk with people who use sign language.
also, being in a massive explosion with extensive facial burns means Fizz most likely has some level of hearing loss

The reason why Fizz know ASL is probably bc after the fire incident he became deaf or hard of hearing so he had to learn sign language until his hearing became better

@@IsabelGriffin-b6c Well, yes, absolutely (hence why he's now "froggy"). But since his arms and legs were burnt down _to the bone,_ he wouldn't exactly have anything to sign _with_ until he got his prosthetics, so it was likely moreso because of hearing issues.

But here's another thought, wouldn't Mammon want to sell things to a deaf audience too? Like... it's probably your idea, but I've never seen anyone consider the idea that Mammon had Fizz learn for the sake of marketing him to more people.
I always thought it was something to do with the horns since the deaf kid in this ep has broken horns too.
Its not just that Fizz isnt ableist, hes also partly deaf himself. You'll notice imps dont have ears and its been basically confirmed thats one of the things their horns are for. That kid had two broken horns and. Well, you saw Fizz without his hat. Its a nice little detail that they don't spell out for you and i think its really cool

Um... I think the horns thing is a stretch. Fizzarolli's horns aren't that much bigger than the child's at this point, and so he shouldn't be able to hear any better that him, especially if he has them covered up constantly. I don't think it was ever confirmed that he's hard of hearing, or that he ever was, even though it would make sense.
I personally think it's also a possibility that Mammon had him learn sign language for the sake of communicating with a deaf audience, you know, to maximize profits. Hell, I'd be surprised it Mammon didn't take steps to appeal to as many people as possible.
Either way, I think you're reaching a little bit. I think their ears work on bird logic.
I have no idea where the thing of imps needing their horns to hear is confirmed anywhere. But it is sweet that he sees a kindred spirit in the kid.
@@whoasked3961I definitely agree the horns thing is a stretch, though I do agree he probably at least as some point was hard of hearing considering his past of the fire and I believe a firework to the face, would have put him in physical therapy with hearing temporary being impaired, and so he'd have to learn it because of that. For example we do know the injury's were super bad obviously not just because of his horns but his robot arms due to his body being mangled.

not so fun fact, when an imp gets hurt real bad, the scars turn their skin white. the fire basically bleached him, apart from his nose cus he had a clown nose covering it. he lost his horns AND limbs in the fire. its also how Blitz got have his face bleached. Mammon paid his hospital bill and commissioned Ozzy for the mechanical limbs. its why he feels so goddamn indebted to Mammon. he still feels like hes paying Mammon back for his life and Mr King of Greed is going to try to milk every ounce of entertainment he can get out of Fizz. also the " froggy" nickname is cus of his raspy voice....which is also cus of the fire

Ozzie calls Fizz “froggie” not because he looks like a frog physically, but because he robotic arms allow him to spring and jump around the way a normal imp wouldn’t be able to. Almost like a frog

All the hellborn demons are free to roam between rings though, which is why you have people like Moxxie who aren't Wrath born because his family immigrated to another ring
I think Moxxie said he was wrath born at the harvest moon festival when he was trying to use it as cred with Millie's parents. Moxxie immigrated while very young though; I'm just being pedantic. Blitzo said he wasn't wrath born in S2e4 though so he'd be a good example of what you were saying.

there are imps on several rings and it looks like there are actual differinces between the imps from other rings wrath ring imps horns are straighter on average, Pride imps are longer and swept back like Blitzo, and greed ring imps seem to have crooks in them like moxie and crimson. there are other differnces too and there are species specific to rings like the sucubus and the leviathans

A huge connection that a lot of people have with this episode is Fizz’s reactions to the stalker. Trauma The Show just tapped into almost every girl’s worst relationship experiences that I know.

19:34 About the blue cigarette: each circle of Hell has fire in its own color. In the Greed ring, fire is green, in the Lust ring, fire is blue.
The cigarette is blue because even though we're in the Greed ring, the cigarette was lit by the magic of Asmodeus, the lord of Lust. Later on in the song where Fizz is juggling the stick with two flames on the ends, the fire is blue too because Asmodeus lit it.
The symbol for asmodeus also replaces mammon’s symbol while he’s twirling the stick.
Remember that Fizz's "introduction" in season 1 wasnt actually him, it was a robot replica of him, programmed to perform at the theme park (and also super glitchy and broken down if I remember). Its programmed to have his public persona (or a chosen persona by the buyer) rather than reflect Fizz's real personality.

I personally hope gets canonized in some capacity at some point because it make a lot of sense as well as shows the versatility of sign language as a means of communication just like any other language.
Another theory is that Imp Horns are sensory organs. imps don't have ears like Succubi. The little kid had broken horns just like Fizz.

Also, yes, Mammon is indeed a real theological Demon. While Asmodeus is the prince of Lust, Mammon is the prince of Greed. The roster of the 7 deadly sins in this show is specifically based off of the Peter Binsfield classification, which has a few differences from the Lantern of Light.

Backstory, canon. Fizz lost his limbs and horns in the fire. Horns for Imps are their ears. Fizz was unable to hear majprity of things post loss of horns, thus making Fizz hard of hearing. The fire also destroyed vocal chords, rendering him mute. Once he got prosthetics, he learned sign language to communicate. It took years for Fizzy to relearn to talk, and grow confidence enough to talk.

I think what makes the scene with Fizz and Oliver(deaf kid) more special is that Oliver probably wasn’t even expecting Fizz to know sign language in the first place. He just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet his idol.
The reason he seemed so different is because that wasn’t fizz. It was one of the fizzie bots.

More than likely? Fizz was planned this way. His robot we first saw was in Mammon’s Loo Loo Land, hinting they’re connected, along Blitz’s hallucinations and with Fizz and Ozzie having hints in the finale of a relationship. There’s a few small things, but this was likely planned.

As someone with facial scars, i just want to say.
If *all* Mammon did was give Fizz the hat, i promise that would have taken his self-esteem through the ceiling.
Being able to cover your scars, especially on your face or head, gives you a sense that nobody is already judging you based on something you can't change anymore.
With Ozzie and fizzys song I think it's supposed to be a lil like warm. Ozzie literally sang a whole song telling moxie not to sing love songs in the lust lounge. But he loves Fix so he did his best

Between this and Hazbin Hotel, you may have noticed that Hell has a pretty strong circus culture. Beelzebub has the whole "cotton candy" thing, Mammon's a clown, Satan's the strongman, ect.
