There’s a good chance after that fire he needed extensive physical therapy and likely couldn’t speak for a while considering the fireworks blew up directly in his face.
I keep seeing that sign language theory. My only issue with is that the fire literally burned his arms to the bone. Unless you mean to say that he got the prosthetic arms and learned to manipulate the prosthetic arms into understandable sign language *before* his voice healed, that really doesn't make any sense. Sometimes people just learn sign language because it's cool to talk with people who use sign language.
My favorite gag in this episode is Mammon saying "If you're a woman, give up. Women just ain't funny"...the very moment *WRITTEN BY VIVIENNE MEDRANO* shows up.
I love those kind of gags. Futurama has my favourite one where Fry gets a "promotion" to "Executive Delivery Boy", which the characters whisper is "a useless title, but it makes insecure people feel better about themselves"... Overlaid immediately by the credits for the show's Executive Producers.

I really liked this bit. The whole time we have seen him, he's been literally all over the place with his limbs. And then we get to this episode and he stays so contained, so constricted, so comparatively small despite being on the big stage. It really adds to the shift during FU.

Its not just that Fizz isnt ableist, hes also partly deaf himself. You'll notice imps dont have ears and its been basically confirmed thats one of the things their horns are for. That kid had two broken horns and. Well, you saw Fizz without his hat. Its a nice little detail that they don't spell out for you and i think its really cool
Um... I think the horns thing is a stretch. Fizzarolli's horns aren't that much bigger than the child's at this point, and so he shouldn't be able to hear any better that him, especially if he has them covered up constantly. I don't think it was ever confirmed that he's hard of hearing, or that he ever was, even though it would make sense. I personally think it's also a possibility that Mammon had him learn sign language for the sake of communicating with a deaf audience, you know, to maximize profits. Hell, I'd be surprised it Mammon didn't take steps to appeal to as many people as possible. Either way, I think you're reaching a little bit. I think their ears work on bird logic.

For example we do know the injury's were super bad obviously not just because of his horns but his robot arms due to his body being mangled.
not so fun fact, when an imp gets hurt real bad, the scars turn their skin white. the fire basically bleached him, apart from his nose cus he had a clown nose covering it. he lost his horns AND limbs in the fire. its also how Blitz got have his face bleached. Mammon paid his hospital bill and commissioned Ozzy for the mechanical limbs. its why he feels so goddamn indebted to Mammon. he still feels like hes paying Mammon back for his life and Mr King of Greed is going to try to milk every ounce of entertainment he can get out of Fizz. also the " froggy" nickname is cus of his raspy voice....which is also cus of the fire

The current* theory for the demon kinds are : Imps are from Wrath, Succubi from Lust, Fish demons from Envy, Goat demons from Sloth, Hellhounds from Gluttony, Shark demons from Greed, and of course the Sinners are in Pride. All the hellborn demons are free to roam between rings though, which is why you have people like Moxxie who aren't Wrath born because his family immigrated to another ring

there are imps on several rings and it looks like there are actual differinces between the imps from other rings wrath ring imps horns are straighter on average, Pride imps are longer and swept back like Blitzo, and greed ring imps seem to have crooks in them like moxie and crimson. there are other differnces too and there are species specific to rings like the sucubus and the leviathans

The "Look My Way" music video is pretty plot relevant. Not necessary, but it contextualizes the next episode a good deal. Also, it centers around your favorite owl man, so I don't doubt you'll find it worth while.

This is actually my favorite detail in this whole episode. I love that Blitzø shows how much he cares about people in very subtle ways that sometimes even the audience doesn’t notice.

Remember that Fizz's "introduction" in season 1 wasnt actually him, it was a robot replica of him, programmed to perform at the theme park (and also super glitchy and broken down if I remember). Its programmed to have his public persona (or a chosen persona by the buyer) rather than reflect Fizz's real personality.
Between this and Hazbin Hotel, you may have noticed that Hell has a pretty strong circus culture. Beelzebub has the whole "cotton candy" thing, Mammon's a clown, Satan's the strongman, ect. Heck, Lucifer himself looks sorta like a clown, dresses like a ringmaster, and has the traditional circus theme as his ringtone. Also, you never heard the term "frog in his throat"?

Backstory, canon. Fizz lost his limbs and horns in the fire. Horns for Imps are their ears. Fizz was unable to hear majprity of things post loss of horns, thus making Fizz hard of hearing. The fire also destroyed vocal chords, rendering him mute. Once he got prosthetics, he learned sign language to communicate. It took years for Fizzy to relearn to talk, and grow confidence enough to talk. What broke me w this episode was how relatable Fizz is. The anxiety. The striving for perfection. The need to fit in and not stand out. The need to look and be exactly what everyone needs and wants. I broke down and cried. So hard.
Considering how Blitz and Moxxie met in prison, there must be some kind of law there, even if it's just "don't piss of the big guy of the area." I love how at the question "Who tops?" Fizz stays confused, but Ozzy starts smirking. ^^

I personally hope gets canonized in some capacity at some point because it make a lot of sense as well as shows the versatility of sign language as a means of communication just like any other language.

@ it’s easier to construct prosthetics then for your internal organs to heal. Especially incredibly sensitive vocal cords that can be injured if you scream too loud. If anything you start teaching after the accident (even if he can’t do it) fit for prosthetics and then Hope that one day he gets full function of his vocal cords back. Which he doesn’t due to the raspiness of his voice which is either the best his voice can get or is an artificial box which means it never healed. That probably wouldn’t be the first course of action for a surgery. But then again I’m putting too much thought into to a comment I made six months ago so who knows.

They also have some goat features, like hooves, horns, and moxie's weird legs, they make some cat and dog sounds several times in the show, they have forked tongues like snakes and Millie e Striker both have rattle snake tails.

I personally think it's also a possibility that Mammon had him learn sign language for the sake of communicating with a deaf audience, you know, to maximize profits. Hell, I'd be surprised it Mammon didn't take steps to appeal to as many people as possible.

@@Feed-Me-LoreI definitely agree the horns thing is a stretch, though I do agree he probably at least as some point was hard of hearing considering his past of the fire and I believe a firework to the face, would have put him in physical therapy with hearing temporary being impaired, and so he'd have to learn it because of that. For example we do know the injury's were super bad obviously not just because of his horns but his robot arms due to his body being mangled.
I think the horns connection is just that anything able to damage their horns that much would also damage their hearing.
not so fun fact, when an imp gets hurt real bad, the scars turn their skin white. the fire basically bleached him, apart from his nose cus he had a clown nose covering it. he lost his horns AND limbs in the fire. its also how Blitz got have his face bleached. Mammon paid his hospital bill and commissioned Ozzy for the mechanical limbs. its why he feels so goddamn indebted to Mammon. he still feels like hes paying Mammon back for his life and Mr King of Greed is going to try to milk every ounce of entertainment he can get out of Fizz. also the " froggy" nickname is cus of his raspy voice....which is also cus of the fire

The cigarette is blue because even though we're in the Greed ring, the cigarette was lit by the magic of Asmodeus, the lord of Lust. Later on in the song where Fizz is juggling the stick with two flames on the ends, the fire is blue too because Asmodeus lit it.
The symbol for asmodeus also replaces mammon’s symbol while he’s twirling the stick.

Backstory, canon. Fizz lost his limbs and horns in the fire. Horns for Imps are their ears. Fizz was unable to hear majprity of things post loss of horns, thus making Fizz hard of hearing. The fire also destroyed vocal chords, rendering him mute. Once he got prosthetics, he learned sign language to communicate. It took years for Fizzy to relearn to talk, and grow confidence enough to talk.
What broke me w this episode was how relatable Fizz is. The anxiety. The striving for perfection. The need to fit in and not stand out. The need to look and be exactly what everyone needs and wants. I broke down and cried. So hard.
Considering how Blitz and Moxxie met in prison, there must be some kind of law there, even if it's just "don't piss of the big guy of the area."

@ it’s easier to construct prosthetics then for your internal organs to heal. Especially incredibly sensitive vocal cords that can be injured if you scream too loud. If anything you start teaching after the accident (even if he can’t do it) fit for prosthetics and then Hope that one day he gets full function of his vocal cords back. Which he doesn’t due to the raspiness of his voice which is either the best his voice can get or is an artificial box which means it never healed. That probably wouldn’t be the first course of action for a surgery.
But then again I’m putting too much thought into to a comment I made six months ago so who knows.
