It’s actually kinda poetic that at the beginning he said he shouldn’t go jumping off cliffs because he doesn’t have his elytra, but at the end he ended his own life by jumping from a cliff. And at the end he took his partner’s first and last life. 3rd life was just an absolute masterpiece, and I enjoy the life series so much.
I don't think Scar gets enough credit for being the first one to turn red in this series, less than halfway through, and he somehow survives the entire desert exploding, an iron golem attacking him, and I can't even remember how much else, to make it all the way to the end of the series. Absolute king

Do you realize each life series winner gets more insane than the last? Grain and Scar mutually understood that only one could win and did it in a fair way, smajor won honorably in pvp, pearl was insane the entire seoson and over powered everyone with her hoard of dogs, and Martin killed everyone cheaply with a lust for time and power like a psychopath.
To play devils advocate for Pearl, she went insane cause she was rejected first by Scott, then by Martin, then she lost Tilly. It was less she was insane the whole season and more a tragic descent into insanity through out the episodes, culminating in her winning two 2v1s in the finale.
The super cut makes it even more obvious how cinematic this turned out, completely by accident lol. The battle of the Red Desert served really well as a darkest hour in the plot and the fact that Grian and Scar were together throughout the entire thing…it’s surprisingly close to an intentional plot structure for something completely unexpected.
cant even lie, i did genuinely cry at the end - the duel between two best friends who were originally chained together as consequences, but ended up fighting together until the very end.. idk im very emotional about this duo
I loved how it all ended with a fist fight between Scar and Grian in a cactus arena in front of Pizza's grave! There couldn't have been a better way for it to end.
Not to mention how he took scars first life too, and at the start he said “I can’t just jump off cliffs” but then jumped off pizzas grave. Poets be goin crazy with this series
It's really interesting hearing 'This server has descended into chaos' (35:20) and comparing how sedate it is, to, say, the first few episodes of Limited Life, which are much more deserving of the description.

While on Third Life they only had 3 hours a week to record, digging out an entire dessert would literally take weeks worth of sessions to do and as they release an episode weekly the only content they could make with such a stupid idea was them digging sand

The first Life series will always be my favorite, when people were building starter bases and thinking about aesthetic decisions, seeing an enderman and just ignoring him because they weren't thinking about needing an ender pearl to survive later. Like, Grian even mentioned opening shops at the beginning? It was so innocent lol. And I remember everyone was so restrained about killing because they didn't want to end other people's series and then when the next hermitcraft season started there was a ton of friendly murder day one cuz the lifers needed to get it out of their systems hahah
I love this format, it’s so much better then a playlist. It’s supper easy for me to throw on in the background while I do school work, clean, cook, or craft. I love seeing this format coming out from a lot of people I watch ❤

I find it so ironic (with a hint of foreshadowing) that while Grian is leading the creeper to Scar in the beginning Martyn is talking abt Ren-chanting in the background, this series has a better arc then most movies nowadays lol
I always loved 3rd Life. It has a cinematic quality to it with Grian and Scar’s buddy cop adventure rebelling against the mad king Ren (and Ren’s slow decent to that point from a simple enchanter owner)
I keep trying to rewatch this series and I honestly can't. It's easily one of the best minecraft series' ever, but the format of weekly releases from so many different people with many of them rarely coming into contact means that just watching one perspective misses so much and watching all of them is a ridiculous time commitment. I think for this series, you really just had to be there. Every week, getting that new episode from everybody, scouring them for content, learning what happened on every block of the server that week, and then the wait for next week, before you finally get those new episodes.
Well, you don't need to watch them all at one day. Especially with the seasons that are finished. You even can go as far as watching one episode per day.
I get what you mean, however you can still enjoy this series without watching everyone's POV's. I only watch what follows the "storyline" I'm interested in.

Seeing an event, wondering "huh, this person was acting suspicious, I wonder what was up with that," and then finding out they had orchestrated the whole thing, or they had placed a trap that wasn't activating for some reason, that was what sold me. I still watch these in real time when new seasons come out, but the old ones are just so hard to capture that same magic (for me personally, obviously as a quick disclaimer, this doesn't have to be your opinion, this isn't objective fact, this is just how I feel rewatching it) I still enjoy the best bits though
Rewatching this after such a while again it feels like it ended just yesterday. I love comming back to all the povs as honestly the amount of accidental foreshadowing is INSANE and makes me smile so much. Thank you to everyone who contributed and is still part of the series 🌟

It's funny how at the beginning of the series they were saying no access to the desert but at the end grain's "hail Mary plan" was entirely dependent on people being in the desert
i just realized all Scar's deaths in this season was literally caused by Grian. The creeper, the ravine and literally killing him in the showdown finale.
I love that despite the simple rules of the first season of the Life Series it still is one of the best seasons from the whole series. I have rewatched the whole Life Series 4 times over (5 if you count the first time I watched it) and almost every time I enjoy 3rd Life the most.
The ending always gets me 😭 Them fighting at pizza’s grave and Grian’s final death being a plunge off of Pizza’s gravestone just feels like the way that the beginning of the life series should end.

As i mainly watch Grian’s videos out of Hermits and co., i am so happy that Grian won the first season. And of course, as I kniw through spoilers, Scar wins Secret Life. How fitting. Truly soulmates.
Ive forgotten how perfectly the first season of the life series played out. No play write could have made a more cohesive narrative than this. It stated with grian killing scar, and it somehow ended the same way. This is a story about how one man's guilt lead to a chain of events leading everyone to their doom until he was forced to confront his first and only mistake, the source of evil, scar. Even after the betrayal, the guilt, commitment, and comradery made grian apprehensive to end it all, after all, he was the catalyst for all the events that hath thus transpired. But haunted by the ghosts of scar's victims, and even some resultant from his own hands, he knew he had to end it the only way someone could. With honor, with pizza as their witness, grian corrected his mistake, ending the series in a beautifully cyclical note. 10/10 This first season hits so hard.
i just finished watching this whole thing in one sitting, its so interesting to see how it went from, grian pulling a creeper near scar and him being the first to die, making grian his servant, everyone settling, everyone forming alliances, the alliance's taking big hits, preparing traps and getting gear to the final people beating each other up in a very lopsided ring of cactuses near the two friends pet pizza's grave
i love the life series so much because in some of the other series (ex; X life) it seemed to drag on because of how long it was but with the life series it’s always changing and it’s also pretty short so you don’t lose interest ever.
How many rewatches and NOW I FINALLY REALIZE THAT Grian could have been on a red rile in the 2nd episode? In the first while he was mining (46:17) he didn't have his shield up in time and the golden chestplate SAVED HIM (with blast protection II) and then again at 55:09 when he walked into a creeper! If it wasn't for that chest plate he would have died twice and been on his red life!
literally yelled "DAAAMN" when I saw this. thank you. gunna binge this EDIT: just finished it, no joke, actually powerful. the suspense, betrayal, series spanning friend ships, the light hearted opening to full blown chaos and war, you can see the how some people's characters divulge into insanity (mostly ren). straight up master piece, I would love an actually animated retelling of this story where we cap in from all sides and it's just a 3 hour epic you could dramatize the deaths to just being people getting greately injured and then retreating back, like when you died first there could be scene where you are slunking to your respawn room, hand agasint the wall some blood trailing, and then recovering; or when scar betrays you float down the river and regain conciseness walk back and grab your armor, and the same for all the others. the winner of the series is the main character of each moive. obviously this would never happen but it's fun to think about.
i genuinely watch through the entire playlists of the life series all the time so this is honestly so helpful! though i hope yt isn't trying to push creators to do longform content because the amount of time, effort and quality of shorter videos should still be appreciated alongside the growing popularity of longform content. either way love your content and appreciate the compilation

I’m Hermitcraft season 6, the first season of Hermitcraft that Grian was in, he actually created a game towards the end of the season called Demise. Basically, everyone who took part in it acted like they were on Minecraft Hardcore mode as just kinda went about their business. When someone died, they had to change their skin to be monochromatic/black and gray and they were treated as being “dead”. The dead people could trap the others who were still alive, but no direct PVP was allowed. Everyone who took part in the game had to pay an entry fee of 50 diamonds, and if I remember right, there were 18 people who took part in the game. The last person standing alive won everyone else’s entry diamonds. Lots of fun stuff happened during the game, including something called Dragon Bros (that’s as much as I’m gonna say about that) and it was really cool to see it all play out. I’m wondering if Grian got his idea for 3rd Life from what he created I Hermitcraft season 6

They can log on to hermit craft for as many hours as they want a week. While on Third Life they only had 3 hours a week to record, digging out an entire dessert would literally take weeks worth of sessions to do and as they release an episode weekly the only content they could make with such a stupid idea was them digging sand
Third Life will always hold such a special place in my heart. I'm excited for the 5th season!!

The first Life series will always be my favorite, when people were building starter bases and thinking about aesthetic decisions, seeing an enderman and just ignoring him because they weren't thinking about needing an ender pearl to survive later. Like, Grian even mentioned opening shops at the beginning? It was so innocent lol. And I remember everyone was so restrained about killing because they didn't want to end other people's series and then when the next hermitcraft season started there was a ton of friendly murder day one cuz the lifers needed to get it out of their systems hahah
Grian is definitely planning something, and i am so excited!
I love this format, it’s so much better then a playlist. It’s supper easy for me to throw on in the background while I do school work, clean, cook, or craft. I love seeing this format coming out from a lot of people I watch ❤

The Storylines in Third Life were insane

So true! I still think this is one of the most entertaining short timed series created.
I find it so ironic (with a hint of foreshadowing) that while Grian is leading the creeper to Scar in the beginning Martyn is talking abt Ren-chanting in the background, this series has a better arc then most movies nowadays lol
I always loved 3rd Life. It has a cinematic quality to it with Grian and Scar’s buddy cop adventure rebelling against the mad king Ren (and Ren’s slow decent to that point from a simple enchanter owner)
I keep trying to rewatch this series and I honestly can't. It's easily one of the best minecraft series' ever, but the format of weekly releases from so many different people with many of them rarely coming into contact means that just watching one perspective misses so much and watching all of them is a ridiculous time commitment. I think for this series, you really just had to be there. Every week, getting that new episode from everybody, scouring them for content, learning what happened on every block of the server that week, and then the wait for next week, before you finally get those new episodes.
Well, you don't need to watch them all at one day. Especially with the seasons that are finished. You even can go as far as watching one episode per day.
I get what you mean, however you can still enjoy this series without watching everyone's POV's. I only watch what follows the "storyline" I'm interested in.
@@rainedroses4291 For me, seeing the interconnectedness of it all is what got me so in love with it. Seeing an event, wondering "huh, this person was acting suspicious, I wonder what was up with that," and then finding out they had orchestrated the whole thing, or they had placed a trap that wasn't activating for some reason, that was what sold me. I still watch these in real time when new seasons come out, but the old ones are just so hard to capture that same magic (for me personally, obviously as a quick disclaimer, this doesn't have to be your opinion, this isn't objective fact, this is just how I feel rewatching it)

Rewatching this after such a while again it feels like it ended just yesterday. I love comming back to all the povs as honestly the amount of accidental foreshadowing is INSANE and makes me smile so much.

It's funny how at the beginning of the series they were saying no access to the desert but at the end grain's "hail Mary plan" was entirely dependent on people being in the desert
i just realized all Scar's deaths in this season was literally caused by Grian. The creeper, the ravine and literally killing him in the showdown finale.

I love that despite the simple rules of the first season of the Life Series it still is one of the best seasons from the whole series. I have rewatched the whole Life Series 4 times over (5 if you count the first time I watched it) and almost every time I enjoy 3rd Life the most.
The ending always gets me 😭
Them fighting at pizza’s grave and Grian’s final death being a plunge off of Pizza’s gravestone just feels like the way that the beginning of the life series should end.

Ive forgotten how perfectly the first season of the life series played out. No play write could have made a more cohesive narrative than this. It stated with grian killing scar, and it somehow ended the same way. This is a story about how one man's guilt lead to a chain of events leading everyone to their doom until he was forced to confront his first and only mistake, the source of evil, scar. Even after the betrayal, the guilt, commitment, and comradery made grian apprehensive to end it all, after all, he was the catalyst for all the events that hath thus transpired. But haunted by the ghosts of scar's victims, and even some resultant from his own hands, he knew he had to end it the only way someone could. With honor, with pizza as their witness, grian corrected his mistake, ending the series in a beautifully cyclical note. 10/10 This first season hits so hard.
I will never experience the joy that grian did when a *scuffed* trap managed to secure a triple elimination.

i just finished watching this whole thing in one sitting, its so interesting to see how it went from, grian pulling a creeper near scar and him being the first to die, making grian his servant, everyone settling, everyone forming alliances, the alliance's taking big hits, preparing traps and getting gear to the final people beating each other up in a very lopsided ring of cactuses near the two friends pet pizza's grave
i love the life series so much because in some of the other series (ex; X life) it seemed to drag on because of how long it was but with the life series it’s always changing and it’s also pretty short so you don’t lose interest ever.
Cherrifire is one of my favorite artists, i cant even say how happy i am to see their art everywhere
How many rewatches and NOW I FINALLY REALIZE THAT Grian could have been on a red rile in the 2nd episode? In the first while he was mining (46:17) he didn't have his shield up in time and the golden chestplate SAVED HIM (with blast protection II) and then again at 55:09 when he walked into a creeper! If it wasn't for that chest plate he would have died twice and been on his red life!
It's incredible because he would have been out of the series a lot earlier probably and the story wouldn't have been nearly as awesome.

EDIT: just finished it, no joke, actually powerful. the suspense, betrayal, series spanning friend ships, the light hearted opening to full blown chaos and war, you can see the how some people's characters divulge into insanity (mostly ren). straight up master piece, I would love an actually animated retelling of this story where we cap in from all sides and it's just a 3 hour epic
you could dramatize the deaths to just being people getting greately injured and then retreating back, like when you died first there could be scene where you are slunking to your respawn room, hand agasint the wall some blood trailing, and then recovering; or when scar betrays you float down the river and regain conciseness walk back and grab your armor, and the same for all the others. the winner of the series is the main character of each moive. obviously this would never happen but it's fun to think about.
I still remember the day the first episode came out, it was the best day ever.

i genuinely watch through the entire playlists of the life series all the time so this is honestly so helpful! though i hope yt isn't trying to push creators to do longform content because the amount of time, effort and quality of shorter videos should still be appreciated alongside the growing popularity of longform content. either way love your content and appreciate the compilation

I’m Hermitcraft season 6, the first season of Hermitcraft that Grian was in, he actually created a game towards the end of the season called Demise. Basically, everyone who took part in it acted like they were on Minecraft Hardcore mode as just kinda went about their business. When someone died, they had to change their skin to be monochromatic/black and gray and they were treated as being “dead”. The dead people could trap the others who were still alive, but no direct PVP was allowed. Everyone who took part in the game had to pay an entry fee of 50 diamonds, and if I remember right, there were 18 people who took part in the game. The last person standing alive won everyone else’s entry diamonds. Lots of fun stuff happened during the game, including something called Dragon Bros (that’s as much as I’m gonna say about that) and it was really cool to see it all play out.

I’m rewatching this and I realized that the whole time, Grian kept saying he wasn’t allowed to kill unless Scar came up with it and gave him the order to make traps and stuff, but the entire time, Scar hardly makes any murder plans, it’s all Grian, he just gets Scar’s permission after he explains the plan lmaoo
