The Soul Of A Man - Fontella Bass - 1965

St.Louis native, Fontella Bass, was part of the early to mid-1960's St.Louis artist pipeline to Chicago whose common connection was St.Louis bandleader, Oliver Sain. Multiple Sain artists recorded in Chicago on the Chess, Checker or One-Derful! labels. Bass had a huge hit with, Rescue Me, in 1965 on the Checker label. The B-side of that single was the sublime, The Soul Of A Man. A crime that it was buried on the B-side!
