The phrase 'death trap flappy bit' did make me laugh and took me back to my northern roots. Thank you Sarah, I love your energy and enthusiasm. Puts me to shame!
😂 I don’t work in the rain Sarah so hats off you even leave the house. I’m practicing with my new drill but I’m a novice too and fear I’ll drive it thru my finger. Doing a fab job and as long as an eagle doesn’t try to land on it 😅😅. Have a fab week stay dry 😉, Ali 🌦️🇨🇦☔️
Lol I’m hopeful there are no eagles here lol it rains a lot if I waited for the rain to go I would never get there lol I have to go after work or on a day off so pot luck the weather is ok at those times
Love all your channels but this one is so funny . Love your technical terms, as someone who prefers to do things myself as wellI know exactly what you are talking about 😄 woke up to snow this morning so envious of how you are getting on .
I bet you love your allotment. A place to go watch your labours grow, bloom and give you hopefully, lots of goodies. Be it flowers or vegetables. There's nothing like home grown. I love your have a go attitude Sarah. The allotment is coming together great. I look forward to seeing what you grow. 😁
Thank you I love it also as just a place to go and chill . In the summer when the sun does come out it’s there all day and virtually no one is around so you just listen to the birds
So the drill. Basically why it’s making that noise is the torque on the drill is too high. The numbers behind the chuck determine the torque. At the arrow turn it to 1-4 if driving in short screws; 5-8 if driving screw into soft wood; 9-12 if driving screws into semi-soft to hard wood; 13-16 if hard wood or screws over 3 inches long. Also I saw you drill has variable speed switch 1 and 2. 2 = less torque and 1= more torque. It’s a lot but you will get the hang of it, Sarah ❤
I know the UK is generally a more rainy spot than out here in California, I wouldn't want to do anything when it's raining! I like the pumpkin arch idea, and getting rid of that hump between the plots and the main tent...
You are a lot like me in the garden, where I put things down is where they stay until I need them. We still have eight inches of snow in the yard, so it will be another month or so before I can get out there.
I wonder if you just hit a hard knot of wood in the pole? Maybe try a different spot? I only think this as the first one went in so easily! I'm like you Sarah - When i start a project I just go in gung ho with all guns blazing not having a clue what I'm doing, but its fun all the same!!! So enjoying watching you & you're doing a brilliant job so far!! Well done!! 😃
I now have another favorite channel. Sarah, you are so funny and determined to whip your allotment into shape and I enjoy every minute. Power tools hate me too, I'm good with a hammer tho😂 looking forward to spring planting and your breakfasts in the outdoor kitchen. Love and hugs 🥰🥰 xx
I thought you must be hitting a knot in the wood. I’m going to buy me a drill so now I know about tork. lol I’m going to my hand at growing some vegetables this year. I feed my birds but I’ve never bought meal worms. I’m learning a lot through you.
I'm lucky to have have two full plots, as I've taken on the front half of one my plots not sure what im going to do yet as there is lots of blue bells growing i think just need to wait an see ( as there are protected ) . Meanwhile ive been tidying up the plots and stared a few seeds off in the greenhouse .
You make me laugh so good.. You handle difficulties quite well.. I've enjoyed you and Mick very much.. I truly do hope comment's help.. don't wanna drive you crazy.. it is nice to be able to interact in this way. I wonder what would grow if you planted some of the wild garden bird seed.
The first thing I was going to say: Don’t rush the process of getting things done. You do have a lot of energy to do what’s necessary, so my suggestion is when you get to your allotment sit down for at least half hour. Write things down as to what you would like to accomplish just for the day . Maybe make a list of things you will need. Take a deep breath before standing up to start your task. Get everything from your space you may need for your first project such as: rope, hammer, nails etc you get the idea. I believe it will help you to do the project without having any issues. Let me know what you think about my suggestion. My husband used to tell me slow down your not going to a marathon. It’s just you and nature 😊 I hope this helps somehow, I was just like you 20 years ago. I had to make myself slow down a bit. Most of all Sarah have fun with this project. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
I am curious don't you have one of those generators that you can plug a drill into? Though with that post it would be better to dig a hole and put the post in, the post you are drilling into looks too short for what you want to do, though I could be wrong. I love feeding the birds but you have to watch they don't go after your crops. I wish I could grow those yellow squash, red lettuce and carrots and such, I miss the farm I grew up on! I wish you all the best in all your endeavors!
No there is nothing like that here and it’s in the middle of the woods so a generator wouldn’t really be welcomed in the peace my strimmer is loud enough . No the post was all I had I just make do with what I have if I can . Keeping costs down and re using where I can . It’s still up lol
Okay. I’m from Texas and we call allotments gardens and they are usually in our backyards. Is your allotment in a separate place? Are your yards not big enough to have a garden? I grow flowers in pots on my deck but that’s about all I can do and I’m lucky I don’t kill them! Maybe you’ll give me some ideas? Have a good day!
I don’t have a garden I live in a terraced house with a tiny back yard . This allotment is a mile away from my house . You rent the plot off the council to grow stuff can be flowers not just veg . Round here the waiting lists for allotments are 4 years or more
@@sarahsallotmentjourney that’s pretty cool! I understand why they are called allotments. You must live in the city? I live in the suburbs but my property back up to nature reserve and the deer eat everything but that’s okay as they are so beautiful.
Love how you tackel things it's just what I would do 😂 ,A tip for you, start the pumpkinseed as soon as possible in your (green house) they like a lot of food and water 💦 but that's not a problem her in Manchester , just think no more fighting for pumpkins 🎃 in Lidl 😂🎃😂🫛🍈🌻 PS try melon's in polly .
Will they not grow if I plant direct ? Eeeeeek my plan was to plant direct in April … I am going later after work maybe a should do a bit of both just incase ?

Oooo lots of numbers . I should have brought micks drill like he said lol
The birds are not going to notice anything but their feed 😂❤
Ha they may leave littke notes … how could you feed us on the wonky table they May say lol

Yeh if you waited for the rain to go here you wouldn’t have enough time to get it all ready to grow stuff lol .
You are a lot like me in the garden, where I put things down is where they stay until I need them. We still have eight inches of snow in the yard, so it will be another month or so before I can get out there.
I lose stuff all the time . In a few more videos I find something I lost last year lol
Sarah, you brightened my day. My kind of gardening/diy. You are a natural 💜
Thanks you may not think I’m a natural as the journey progresses lol

Great to see you again with your green fingers and giving us giggle at the same time
I don’t set out to do things so badly lol

I lost my hammer !
Your garden looks so nice and organised❤❤

Loved this xx
Thanks I don’t do power tools lol x
Love this site. Fun to watch
thank you for coming along with me cant wait for you to see all i have done
😂 sorry for laughing, but the drilling was too funny. Sarah! Pilot holes and drill torque 😂😂😂😂 ❤ love it.
Lol I know all this now I knew it before but I didn’t listen .. I’m listening now lol
Looking good
Thank you ☺️
You are showing True Grit! I admire that so much! I would have been home having a cup of tea long ago!
Lol I took my brew with me so no excuse

I just think I had the wrong sized drill head thing lol robins love meal worms but so does everything else
Great video. I love flowers etc I just cant grow them.😊
They grow themselves here really
I’m so sorry Sarah but this did make me laugh 😆 Go girl 🔨🥕🥬🍅🌧️🌧️
Well you laugh or you cry lol
I'm looking forward to seeing the pumpkin arche. Not heard of one and I think I will try it. Look forward to seeing your allotment develop.
No pressure then
I'm lucky to have have two full plots, as I've taken on the front half of one my plots not sure what im going to do yet as there is lots of blue bells growing i think just need to wait an see ( as there are protected ) . 2 full !! Wow my tiny half plot must seam like the poor relation lol you have some work ahead of you
the best allotments are, roughly, 50% hard work, 40% imagination, 5% bodge and 5% tin foil insulated lattes. You tick all my boxes, loved this!
Lol I think my bodge percentage is possibly a bit higher than 5%

Well some of that did grow in the bird feeder lol I don’t know but we will do it next season for sure

I always have to make lists too! All of the things I told you I have to do as well. It really works for me. 😘
Love the vids, your accent (I'm a manc), and following your journey. Big up!
I don’t even think I have an accent lol well maybe a little
@@sarahsallotmentjourney Sayin? lol
Thanks.
No thank you !!
Are you going to have a compost bin?
I have got a few you will see in later videos
Have you thought of a teepee made of long sticks for your peas
