Google and RUclips is your best friend when learning to garden! I’m enjoying this side of you! Have fun! Another tip is to use black sunflower seeds if you can or you can add some , you get more of a variety of birds. Bye the way you are doing a great job! ✌🏻💞😊
I'm so impressed Sarah, you have so many things going on and you just take it all in stride. I'm just sure I would be squirrely trying to keep up 😵💫 I love your new channel and spending time watching you pull that garden into shape 🤗 Stay well, love and hugs 🥰🥰 xx
Radox bath helps lol . Thanks
Wow it looks super smart. Like the fence and bird feeder and that arch is going to give a great pumpkin harvest❤❤
@@petro3441 thank you
Love your channels. 😊 when you weed put them into a bucket. Saves you bending a second time picking them up. Doing a great job.❤
Thank you
Wow❣️ your allotment is shaping up so nicely - looking forward to the weekly revels
Thanks so much
You go girl! Great fun to watch you. 🩷
ThNk you
I leave some of the soil on my weeds to help add microbes to the compost bin and you get better material at the end. When I moved to raised beds I removed all the soil to one side and used a mixture of organic materials and mixed the soil in to fill my beds. I stopped using bird feeders because it attracted mice and rats. Nice video Sarah.
♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Oh so I could just how some weeds into the soil where they sit I guess rather than trying to pick them all out . All green back now anyway . Fleecing was a bad idea lol
@@sarahsallotmentjourney 👍❤️👍
Hey Sarah. Love this channel. Just a few tips for you. Open your mud bags at one end and use to collect rubbish to throw away. Get yourself a bucket to collect your weeds so you do not have to sweep up after. The hinged collars are better up the other way so you can stack them and use for storage of unused pots / bed covers etc. we also stack them for easier gardening to reduce the bending but they take some filling so take your time. Love the fact that you potter from one thing to the other. Good for the soul xx.
Thanks yes I have massacred several bags now haven’t I
Sarah, your onions look like multiplying onions. Split them apart into singles or doubles and replant them. You will continually have onions if you cut them off about 1/2” above the soil. They will reshoot over and over. You are doing an awesome job!!
Thanks I will do that
You should make a bottle tree for decoration. You could use an old by bicycle rim twist wires and put bottles on end of wires. Attach it to a post or rod to make it look like tree. Keep up the hard work!
Great idea
Looks me when I do gardening I always say I probably killed it 😂😂❤❤ Laura you are really funny
Grazia
Love your videos❤
Try burning where you cut the weed membrane, like a ribbon, stops it fraying. I use a lil cooking burner torch
Oh I have one of those I just need the fuel for it thanks
I nearly missed this one! You're doing a great job Sarah! It looks a lot neater now. I'm glad the bird feeder is being used now!
Yes me too thanks
Any allotment is a great way of learning about growing all sorts of goodies. Weather that be flowers or veg or fruits. Trial and error can be a great adventure, but id recommend Google for great tips. Your beds are coming along great. I also love the pumpkin arch. It will be so lovely to sit at your bench when everything is growing well. Looking through the arch on a warm spring and summer days. Blue skies, birds, and lush green covering your plots. Thats me wishful thinking about the weather.
Surely we are due some sunshine. We had four seasons in one day on Tuesday. Gale force winds, rain, which turned to giant hail...it was so cold too.
The day ended with brilliant sunshine. 🤪
Anyhoo, im loving seeing things coming together so well Sarah. Your doing a great job. 👍 😊
Best wishes to you and Mick. Xx
We had sun rain and hail yesterday . Fed up of the rainbow yes we really are due some nice weather
Love the fence idea . It’s all looking very smart x
Yeh I think it worked
The onions will be good to grow wherever you put them lol... I like how you extended the fence, looks good!
Thanks
I love what you did with the fence!
Thank you so much
You're doing so well Sarah, you're a hard worker. Love to Mick and hope he's getting on ok. xx
Yes thanks he is doing fine
My Lord apologies for the late reply, but things have been hectic. anyhoo, your allotment is fair coming on personally I'm not into gardening but saying that I'm enjoying watching your adventure probably because you're down to earth (get it) seriously can't wait to see it throughout the seasons nice one Sarah, Sarah's Allotment best in the garden by far very far
Lol I’m not really into gardening I just like the peace and quiet the tranquility and sometimes things grow . Plus I get to make things badly which is acceptable at an allotment but not at home lol . Thanks hope you are getting better
@sarahbleasdale not really. The doctors got more questions than answers, but more importantly, I hope Mick is doing good and hey the allotment is fun. Things are meant to wrong
@@gigiwilson9124 oh no let’s hope they get to the bottom of it . Mick is doing fine thanks
I just love your "just get on and do it" attitude. Learn as you grow - my kind of philosophy. Happy growing 🌱.
Yes! Thank you!
Sarah, I truly love all your videos! Wish you every success with your allotment! All the best to your sweet man and to you❤!
Thank you that’s so kind
Wishing You and your Man a splendid Year for your Little Paradies !
Thank you so much!
good morning Sarah i see you are still working hard. good planting and take it easy-your friend-Josephine
Thank you
@@sarahsallotmentjourney
your welcome my friend
Very clever with the fence hacks.
Thanks better than the original idea
I really wish i had my own plot 😊
Just put your name down and wait . It will come to you . Go on the council website and search it just search local allotments get your name down on them all and wait to see which is the winner
❤❤I’m loving Farmer Sarah videos! Everything looks so beautiful!
Lol thanks
You have worked so hard on this allotment and it is looking great.
Thank you so much
I love what you are doing what a wonderful work so far. I’m not a weed person either ,but it has to be done. Fantastic you are done! See you on the next Sarah . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Thank you I’m off to the allotment in an hour I have jobs to do !
Really like seeing you get busy in the garden. I sometimes have your energy but mostly…not 😅 Somehow I still get some gardening done. Like you, I’m a beginner but it’s so satisfying when you pick your own veggies or fruit. I’m just about to start planting very shortly as it’s just too hot in our Australian summer to grow much. Autumn and winter are better. Look forward to seeing what you end up filling your garden beds with.
So true!
Your doing great Sarah, it's not easy dodging the rain hopefully by the end of April we'll get some sun 🌞🐝💫✨
I hope so too!
If you get someone to salt the earth in your plant boxes with tiny bottle dump finds and coins, weeding will be a lot more fun!
Lol that’s a great idea
Of course you found a gem , you are a mudlarker and can’t turn that off.
Well done.
Thank you
We plated a pear tree today to replace the one that got blown down! Wish our vegetable beds were looking as good as yours! Ours don't really exist yet, lol xx
I’m sure yours will spring into action and be great don’t forget I have had this two years already
You have done such a great job already and are very brave being there all alone
Most allotments are like that just the odd person knocking about it’s all securely gated and locked
Great video again x
Thank you 🤗
Fence looks really cute Sarah. Oh I’m glad you didn’t wee the bed 🤭🤭. It’s lovely to get things ticked off the list isn’t it. You could split the onions and plant them as starters yes 👍. Hope you get some warm weather soon but it doesn’t seem to be a deterrent. Have a fab week Sarah and happy gardening, Ali 🥶🌞🇨🇦
I think I will seperate them thanks . I think we have dry weather coming for a few days now
I love this channel! I can't wait till you start growing things! Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much
Dry from tomorow I think we’ll fingers crossed
Your plot is coming on great I've just taken on new section to continue the plot I already have ,there was a lovely oak tree on it till came down in January storms it was also used as a dumping ground so I'm finding allsorts .
Ha I bet you are
I don’t infer if you cover your beds with black plastic in winter if the weeeds would die off
My advise is to onlybplant the things you and your family enjoy eating, and maybe 1 or 2 things you would like to experiment with. I have learned over the years not to waste my time, energy, or money on foods we won't eat. I also do a lot of companion planting to help keep bad bugs and weeds at bay. I have enjoyed your new series as much as the Mudlarking channel! Keep up the good work.
It would be an allotment full of potatoes lol I always find someone to give the food too
Your allotment is shaping up. Do split the onions and replant. You can grow some of them large also if you plant them only half in the dirt. But do keep the dirt pulled back away from them. Do you all have rabbits or deer there? If so, how do you keep them out of your veggie patches?
We had deer but mended the fence so now they can’t get in
@@sarahsallotmentjourney We can't hardly have a garden any more for the deer, rabbits and squirrels. Of course now I'm not able to keep up with it any longer health wise. But I do enjoy building your garden with you.
@@pamelahutton3913 thank you you are a help
Beautiful ❤️ I m grace from Greggs 🤣❤️😘😘😘😘
Hi grace from greggs I think my greggs latte often features in a video or two lol
@@sarahsallotmentjourney I noticed ahahhahah🤣
Just found your channel it's great love seeing your plot
Thank you glad to have you along on the journey
I’m confused by the fleece your putting on a freshly weeded garden here we would block out the light to prevent the weeds from sprouting. That fleece looks more like something you place over plants to prevent bugs from eating your plants. Can you tell us what the fleece is?
It’s to warm up the soil so I can directly sow seeds . I heard it somewhere so I went with it lol I do put the weed membrane on autumn to start of spring . But like I say I don’t know what I’m doing lol we have a fine mesh to stop the bugs ,I haven’t used that yet though .
@@sarahsallotmentjourney Thanks for the explanation. I never thought of doing that. I’ll have to give it a go in my garden. Lol I’m no expert either.
Save those big plastic bags that the dirt and compost come in. There are always good for something.
See you soon😀
You sure.do work hard.
Thank you little but often I think
Eat the onions!
or plant them
Is there any wildlife there?
Do you have deer or rabbits eating your plants?
No dear anymore not seen evidence of rabbits
Your little worm looked like a cut worm, not a friend.
Consider it gone , the magpies probably had it away
Hi Sarah i see you are at again keep it up and you will finally get it finished and you can say hey everbody look what i did -Josephine
Thanks
YOU ARE WELCIOME YOU AND Mic be safe
Saw you on my homepage, came to look and liked it so i connected. I do some gardening too in my small garden, if you want to take a peek.
