    The only reason people think Guitar is dying is because Fender and Gibson are suffering from not being able to sell their overpriced horse shit

    • @Pesso86
      @Pesso86 5 лет назад +17

      Actually Fender is doing alright, from what I read around. Not great, but not nearly as bad as Gibson

      My Gbson SG standard is the best guitar i've played. I have played many others and none come close!!! Its a 2003 model .

    • @goatsurgeon
      @goatsurgeon 5 лет назад +12

      Riff Worshiper
      There’s no better instrument than the one you know inside and out- and I have no idea how the 2003 ones were.
      I just remember playing the recent 1000$+ ones and thinking “what? I thought these were supposed to be god-like and legendary and shit.”
      Then I picked up a 500$ guitar from ESP or something and it felt better, sounded better, had more frets and had better action.

    • @dethbubblez
      @dethbubblez 5 лет назад

      It's all a matter of opinion. For example, I love my 96 Jackson eerie dess and squire modded with a Floyd. The only problem with Gibson besides the asinign price is the weight dist. Of the body and the bullshit startrek badge they tried to pass off as a guitar. Besides that I hear of QC issues. I have no idea what people are talking about with fender. When have they done poorly? Granted, they really need to let hipshot do the hardware but always a great guitar. Also why the hell have they not made 24 fret guitars?

    • @goatsurgeon
      @goatsurgeon 5 лет назад +4

      Richard Ryder
      Jackson is the greatest thing Fender ever did, and I love that line.

    I live vicariously through you Ola - as I sit on a crowded plane as I do each week for work, people shuffling around like zombies, your videos and travels help me forget about the day-to-day grind. My air time is my "Ola time" to get caught up. Your videos help me escape and bring joy to a rather repetitive and long flight. Thank you Ola, and I wish the very best to you, your family, and career!

    Hi Ola,
    Question: when you are new to recording and you are a band on a budget, what would you rather have done by a professional: Recording, mixing or mastering?
    Thanks!! Greets from Germany :)

    • @NuclearHeadshot
      @NuclearHeadshot 5 лет назад +2

      Recording in a studio to get stems, if you'll only do one of these. Sound quality and the ears of a studio engineer are invaluable.
      Also, get an intonation and change the strings at least the day before, and bring 2 or 3 packs of strings to get the best sounding tracks. Get a drum kit with new heads too. It really does matter, quite a lot.

    My mother used to own an appartement at the Costa del Azahar, not far from the Costa del Sole in Spain. She sold it in 2001 when she was too old to travel. I managed to go there with my kids in 2008 after she passed away, living in the place of my Uncle, now owned by my Cousin who had an appartement in the same community. Me and my kids loved it so much, and lots of memorys came to my mind. We spent lot of time there when I was a kid, literally the whole summer.
    See, we share a lot of things - besides you are one of this thin stringed pheasants.
    Love your channel, big fan of your work.
    Greetings from Germany.

  • @KristoferDahl

    About pick slanting: How you angle the pick (ie how you position your hand) - will have a major impact on your ability to play odd vs even amounts of notes per string. So to me, Ola and the nay sayers have pretty much the same standpoint.
    However when Troy explains this - he rarely simplifies it to just the pick direction, but that's what it boils down to.
    Great video as always Ola! 👌👌

    Hi Ola from France ! I just wanna say that I begin to laugh before I watch every FAQ, (not in a wrong way) I mean it's like when I watch some Tom Araya's videos , because you always make jokes when no one expect it, even comparaisons are stupids I think it's the same for Tom, you guys send the same energy to all of us , and it's a deep fresh breathe every week. And I think it's what the whole world needs right now. About guitars, sound, amps, plugins .... there is always a moment you answer to my wonderings, so I have no questions (except it would be cool if you could sometimes try some rack gear) ... Keep the good vibes and thank you for the bright person you are ! Cheers !

    Question for next FAQ :)
    1) What's your favorite tuning on guitar and bass?
    2) I know you use a couple of different tunings on guitar. Do you find it challenging in regards to writing/playing when switching between them?
    I switch a lot between standard tunings and drop tunings, and I find that learning scales is somewhat of a challenge, because the muscle memory is locked in with either standard or drop tunings. I do think however that switching between tunings is good for creativity and writing because it forces you to think outside of the box.
    Currently have my Solar A2.6 TBRM in drop A, and it sounds beastly! Thank you for making awesome instruments! :)

    Hejsan Ola! I really like your videos and Solar Guitars look amazing. I almost bought the V but then i realized the cable input is in the lower wing. Earlier you told the reason for "reverse" headstock and now i see them in completely different light. Why is it there and not in the upper wing like it shoud be? I have one V with cable input in the lower wing and I hate how the cable is behaving like an obstacle.

Just curious if the album was tracked and mixed that way, all in one session file, or if that's just how you set it up for the guitarist edition? It's an interesting idea I'd like to try but I don't think my computer could handle it haha.

    What is your stance on the debate between whether classic amplifiers or modern digital gear is preferable? Of course it's personal preference, but I am intrigued to know where you stand.

    Hey Ola hope you are well . I'm considering investing in amplitube 4 . How easy is it to use as and navigate as a beginner, do you think you could give a brief demo ? Thanks in advance

    Greetings from the Philippines. I've been watching your channel for a few years now. My son thinks your channel is my favorite. Anyway, when are you bringing in your guitars here?

    Hi Ola. What is your favourite digital aggregator for metal music? Can you recommend one? or a proper way to release a metal album for someone like me, who has no audience yet... Muchas gracias! Hoping you had a good time in Spain and enjoyed my country.

    Hi Ola can you recommend a Solar guitar model that is as good or better than my pro series Jackson's.

    Hi Ola!
    Thank you for all the great videos!
    I just saw At The Gates in Los Angeles and they destroyed! The guitar tone was one of the best I’ve heard live! Did they use the patches/presets you made for them earlier this year?
    Also, in the Solar ATG guitar, is it the alnico or ceramic version of the Fishman Fluence Modern pickup?
    Keep up the good work! Love all the content!

    Hey Ola, I really think you should go over all of your gear again. I think I remember you doing it recently, but I could be wrong. I love your content, love the Solar basses, and hope to get my hands on a Solar guitar very soon

    Hello Ola. So I'm planning on buying a Solar e2.6c after christmas, it's going to be my first brand new guitar and I intend to use it for many years to come. Since I'm still too young to earn money where I come from I don't own many guitars and also don't know too much about guitars so I just wanted to ask if I can put active pickups into the e2.6c. Love your work keep it up man!

    Hiya Ola! Do you ever have issues with going from a shorter scale length to a longer scale length, and vice-a-versa? I have a Dime-O-Flame guitar that is 24 3/4ths scale and a Jackson Soloist with a 25.5 scale and I actually find advantages to both.... just wanted your thoughts on this! Thanks.

    I am sick and tired of fixing my tube amp all the time and am thinking about switching to solid state amps. What are some really good solid state amps?

    I've been a subscriber since the days Mel Gibson and Matt Damon hosted your tutorials and I always loved your content. Bought some plugins and guitar pedals thanks to your reviews. Hoping to get one of 'em nice Solars in popular breast finish one day, hopefully a multiscale 7 (one can only hope) for the chugs, you know... Anyway, thanks for influencing my guitar life, Ola, and thanks for the comedy. All the best to you!

    Do you prefer the Horizon Devices Precision Drive or the Fortin Grind? I currently have a Maxon OD808 and am thinking about upgrading.
