I think you are amongst the very few artists who is strictly stuck on to playing Metal without giving a crap about the exploring-new-sound shit ( sadly like the new Opeth, you get the point) and I really love that and I'm glad that there's someone that I can look up to. And when it comes to humour, you are like 'PewDiePie of Metal'. Cheers!
Hey Ola. On your question about females in bands. I play in a 5 piece Power Metal band in Western Canada (Called Syryn) with a female singer and a female bass player. I think the band dynamics are great and we look out for eachother like brothers and sisters. If anything, it brings out more females to our gigs and our audiences are a big mix now of males & females. I see more women now playing metal nowadays compared to years ago and it's refreshing to the metal scene.
Hej Ola! I love your videos and I appreciate a lot your natural manner and great jokes with all kinds of stuff, especially how you deal with haters. Since you've introduced a female edition, I would like to post a question for you to eventually include in some of your future FAQs: How do you deal with the lack of motivation to play, if such thing has ever happened to you? I believe that every musician who happened to play for many years, like myself, eventually suffers from this kind of problem and it might be useful for many people if you have any cool Swedish tips on the topic :) Tack så mycket!
Hi, Ola! We watch your videos on regular basis, almost since the day 1 (by "we" I mean my wife and I, since this is our band's channel). Love the burps, the humor and the technical advices you provide. Planning on buying at least one of those sweet Solar guitars, as soon as our budget allows us to. EX-Norwegian (left Trondheim at age 7) living in Canada just found your channel. Cool stuff, keep it up bro... your good... for a Swede... HA!!! Daryl A- Bassist for Bastard Black and Cyanide Lullaby.
Hey Ola, I wont tell you how to raise your kids when it comes to music but if you dont mind I would like to offer my perspective and I hope you get a chance to read this. I am a guitarist and bassist, picked up bass about when i was 16 or so with little to no prior music experience. In my time playing I have had the opportunity to jam, write, and observe other people my age through school and my early 20's who started not just earlier, but had lessons. The differences between us and the discipline employed through our times playing music is staggering. My dad is a keyboard player and I honestly resent him a little bit for not pushing me towards music earlier because that 8-13 age range is so crucial for learning. In fact, he actually got my brother and I a guitar around when i was 8 or 9, but did nothing to guide us. No books, lessons, nothing. Of course it didnt get touched. Simply having the guitar there was not enough to create the SPARK for me to suddenly become interested but that didnt mean 6 years later I wouldnt become obsessed. Start signing them up for lessons in things so that you can gauge their interest in things. Martial arts, sports, music, whatever. Don't wait for them to chase it because that might not even be how they manifest their interest in things yet. Its not so much as forcing them into things as it is exposing them to it, and that is healthy.
OLA!!!! IKEA! Hey Ola, my girlfriend and I are sitting in IKEA right now, she turned to me and asked if the Swedes love IKEA as much as we do, if not more in some sort of weird way. As an avid fan of the show and your the only Swede I can think of you are left to answer this! Thanks Alan. (X ;)
Ola, question for you next FAQ...when was the last time you played on your Black Cat 7 string, or do you still have it? I'm sure the rest of your subscribers would love to see your guitar collection, any plans on making a video of the 'vault of Ola'? Thank you and happy holidays to you and your family!
Hi Ola ! I have a question. When you record guitars with The Haunted with Jensen, do you have a guitar tone for eachothers or do you use the same tone for all the rythm guitar tracks ? Love your vids ! Cheers from France
i was in a band with one girl in it. if you're alike and become good friends there should be little problems. it will only get weird if people fall in love, sexual tensions and all. and being in a relationship with a bandmember can create a whole lot of problems too. all of us ended up having relationships outside the band, so it worked out pretty well. what also worked out pretty well was that she was one of the better musicians among us, if she had trailed behind i think there would have been more issues.
Talking about Doom... What do you think about the DOOM soundtrack by Mick Gordon? Also do you agree that metal is a little oversatured by slow insanely low tunings and technical riffs? There's almost nothing in between anymore. I miss the groove, what makes your head boppin and really get into it. It all sounds cool but there's not much that makes you move nowadays. That's why we all still love Pantera. The scene focused to much about sounding evil.
I was in a band with 4 guys and 1 girl. It caused tension because when we started getting media attention they ignored me and the rest of the band who wrote the lyrics and songs and focused 100% on her when all she did was do kind of backing singing, interviewed her only etc. So if that girl is reading this and you start to notice the same thing make sure you say "I'm not the only person in the damn band, why are you focusing on me?" rather than letting it inflate your ego. If you don't bring the rest of the band in it won't feel like a team anymore, it'll feel like your band even though it isn't. A band consists of everyone. You have to think about this political crap.
thanks for your faqs about the gears , really helps choosing when there is so much stuff on the market , i actally got the revv g3 , the horizon precision drive and the mooer radar for my christmas presents from myself !!
Hi Ola, just watched all of your FAQ videos in a day and subbed, my question is: What do you think the next biggest leap in music will be? Greetings from the UK!
Ola, I challenge you to make an entire album with the boss katana. It's a challenge that will hopefully test your eq skills to make the songs sound good and getting album worthy tones out of the katana should be a bit of a challenge.
hi ola, i have your washburn signature series, and basically what's the main difference between your washburn and solar guitars? because i it's the same shape probably? cheers from Indonesia. thank you!
The shape is exactly the same as far as I know, the differences are in the hardware. Solar have their own custom pickups, which are really nice, don't know how they compare to the Washburn series. The other thing I noticed different is the bridge for fixed bridge models.
Thumbs up on the awards . Definitely deserve them. Personally, I'm very happy I found your content. Plan on joining after the holidays. I love you man, no homo
Are you familiar with the band Swallow the Sun? They are a death/doom band, faster than Bella which, and much more heavy. Check out the song, Hold this Woe, I think that you may enjoy it.
I did vote for you ;) !!!! loving your videos more and more ! keep up the burp! I burp all the time too! And really love the 14days guitar challenge, would like more like that :D !
For the question about being the only woman in a band. I've been in a band with a female bassplayer, she was just as much part of the band as anyone else, surely communication is a bit different naturally (less blunt) but besides the attraction factor that may or not be present and could become difficult there's no difference.. Bandmembers need to click musically, and that's the most important, if that's the case and you're good and passionate at what you do there's only good times to be had.. :)
Ola... Doom metal is not "easy". Using fuzz and layered distortion, Building atmosphere, Being aware of the space between notes... being slow is not the only way to play doom. Go listen to confessor. Their drummer is amazing! Also listen to Triptykon. Some of the heaviest songs ever. Also, go listen to Sybreed
I for one find a lot more harder playing at a slow tempo than to play very fast, I have to really feel the beat when playing slow, while I just have to practice and increase tempo for fast licks. Should you be interested, look up Corrupted, a japanese bands that sing spanish lyrics !
Love your channel! Best metal channel on RUclips! Question for you. You clearly love pantera and always play there best riffs. Do you have a least favourite pantera album? Love from Oz
Two part comment! Well maybe several parts. Gonna get a little greedy here. Love your humor and thinly veiled cockiness (I see past insecurities behind that veil, am I wrong?) but more importantly love your riffing and the avenue you provide for new metal listeners to peak their interest. Question. When writing a song and you want it to modulate to a different central chord, do you have a process for figuring out where you want to go, and how to get into/out of said modulation? Next time Ola reacts, check out Vitalism. A good introduction song would be Pagan Pt. 2. They are from Brazil and they are tighter than Dick’s hatband. Next riff of the day, dare you to try intro to Splintered Visions by Into Eternity. Or if you are too much of a sissy boy for that one, anything from the song Beginning of the End would sate my thirst for Swedish fingertip blood. You strike me as good people. Keep up your plethora of good work. *hugs Ola*
Dick Lövgren of Meshuggah also seems to have the same sun tattoo on the right elbow. Putry cool. Question: how do you like your cover songs? A full 100% copy of the song, a small deviation from the song, or a complete rewrite of the song?
Brola! Are you a fan of Amon Amarth and if so, do you have any favorite album of theirs? As fellow Stockholmers I believe they haven't gone under your radar.
I had a very good female singer in a band in the early 2000s playing 70s, 80s & 90s hard rock and metal covers. She had a seasoned & powerful voice, but it was weird with her singing songs that had more masculine themes. She adjusted her voice for the songs, but, again, it was just odd at times given the lyrical content. Hope that shed some light into the realm of females in bands.
Afternoon Ola! I stopped playing guitar a few years ago. Lots of issues came together at once. I have decided to get back to playing, what Amp would you recommend for a decent/good metal playing and can do other tones if I feel liek playing a bit of blues or clean? I was very impressed by the Marshall Code 50 you played a few days ago in your Will it Chug series.
Hej Ola, i see that the White seven strings, the A2.7 is not longer available in the solar website, is this permanently???? I really want to buy one of them and it will be very sad if gone for ever. (Excuse me for my.... poor english ^^)
I just saw Bell Witch perform that 90 min song live last week. They arranged seating. :D Anyway, Bell Witch is funeral doom, almost drone metal, doom can be more "fun". Check out Potion, my new favourite.
Hey Ola, i am a solo guitarist planning to record an EP (instrumental mainly guitars think Russian Circles)Should I spring to for tracking in a studio or invest in more gear to record at home (current focusrite scarlet with GarageBand). Thanks! Love the channel and the burps!
Yo Ola! Luv your stuff ! Can you talk about Dime’s (rest in peace) tuning. If I’m not mistaken he tuned to 430 Hz vs 440hz. Also, Dime loved his herbs, do thou partake?
Hey Ola, what do you think of bowed guitar, playing a guitar with a cello bow? Sigur Rós is a post-rock/ambient Icelandic band that uses this technique exclusively. (If you want to do a reaction to them, I recommend _Kveikur_ live for the bowed guitar show)
Hi, Ola! I am buying a gaming chair like yours, but it worries me that the armrests bother me while playing guitar. Should I worry about that or actually it is not a big deal?
OLA :) . I got a new tube head and well it sounds good if I turn down the mids and highs but if I turn those up past half way it tends to sound like a tin can :(. I plan to change out the pre amp tubes can you tell me what your fav tubes are :). Yay
FAQ Question Hey Ola, hope you are doing well keep up the great work. I was wondering if you could talk about the neck profiles that you have gone for with the Solar guitar, as in are they compound or the same the whole way through? Also does the whole range have the same neck profile and say nut width? Thanks Chaz
Hey OLA hope you're fine. The Randall Satan amps are out of stock everywhere in Europe, do you know if there will be reassorts ? Or is it now a collector ? Saved for a 1.6 BOP, got it last week and now, can't get the amp :o aaaaaarg !
Hey Ola now that we are closing in on the year alot of people are showing their top 20 or 10 releases of the year. So my question is what are your top releases of maybe just release if you haven't listen to enough new stuff. My favorite of the year is Slugdge - Esoteric Malacology.
To answer BMWfilmz question, It's great to have a female in a and. But also, there can be a downside. Band members could start to like her or try to get a date or something which isn't a good idea when your in a band. It messes up the band BUT I'm sure there have been bands that had no problem with that. I think it's awesome to have females in bands. Just make sure the guys won't fall in love when you walk in for practice ;)
hey Ola! I'd absolutely looove to have a Type V guitar but I'm left handed! Do you think this would be available in the future? Or perhaps a custom shop? Because I'd love to have a floyd rose too! Greetings from Quebec! \m/
Hi Ola! Love your work and your channel. Do you like Behemoth? What album do you like best? My favorite is Demigod... great riffs.. and love guitars tone there.. Would you play some riff from that album (using that kind of tone ;) )? thank you very much. Cheers from Argentina
Ola, great videos, great hair and great burps! I totally agree about beginners starting with doom metal, but for a very different reason. While doom is physically easier to play, given the ultra-slow tempos, it is much harder than fast metal for the very same reason. In order to play it properly you have to have excellent timing. I learned more about playing in time, and dragging the beat in my stint in a doom band than I did in my 25 years previously playing fast metal(yeah, I’m not a youngster like you). Doom is a great way to work on your timing. You should try it sometime and I’d bet you’d be surprised how difficult it is to play at such slow tempos. Also, glad to hear you’re getting the tribal tattoo removed-you’re cooler than that!
Hello Ola from North Dakota! Question, do you ever plan to release a seven string version of the Solar V series? Or a fanned seven string of any other model? Thanks in advance!
Hey Ola, what's good? Is there a different between a passive and active pickup in terms of cutting through the mix? Is one better than the other or it doesn't really matter? Thank you, keep up the burps.
Hola Ola, What do you think of MixBus V5? I drink a bottle of Tawney Port the other night and woke up with a full license for it. Ive been a Reason and Ableton user for about 16 years.
Dear Ola: will you be attending winter NAMM this year? I won a pass from Diamond guitars to attend and would like to know what to expect? I’m just a nobody who has been given a once in a lifetime opportunity and would love to meet one of my favorite guitarist if you are going.
Hey Ola, How are you? there is nothing i love more than play the guitar. No matter what you do, you have always a great guitar tone👍🏼 Can you show me how to get a killer tone out of a Engl Powerball 2 with a Maxon OD 808 X boost? You are a great guy by the way
ola, what is your opinion on the recent passing of Oli Herbert (all that remains)? Do you think his death was an accident or even murder? as his wife doesn't seem to be upset about it and could be involved with his death
Maybe I'm a bit late, but another female question: Why is everybody impressed by me using 12's on standard tuning? It isn't that heavy of a gauge when you get used to it
I wanted to suggest you to check out Soreption, but I found your comment under their video for The Anti-Present already so I guess you know what's up! I really had to search for their stuff right after seeing them with Revocation, they were so good live that they made their music look easy to play. Cheers from Italy!
Hi Ola. I saw that You're travelling with heavy multiguitar flightcase. What flightcase You can recommend for safe flight with one guitar, are those ABS cases safe? I want to take my guitar with me but I'm afraid about both guitar and case. Second question, any chance for Solar guitar in SG/Viper shape?
What up, Ola? What is your opinion on Morbid Angel? If you like them, do you think you can make a tone video for either Covenant or Gateways to Annihilation?
What about Candlemass Ola? They are THE Doom Metal band and, along with Bathory, they put Sweden on my Metal map back in the 80s. Like them, hate them, know them?
Hallå Ola, i am looking for a second guitar for lower tunings, so i want to ask, why you are mostly using 6 strings in low tunings instead of a 7string, which brings the lower tunings out oft he box without having to change strings and setups. Is it just personal liking or is there a technical reason behind it. Greetings Kaziklu
#Ola - Re: KEMPER. Although I love my Peavey 6505, I wouldn't be without my Kemper for jamming and recording at home. I know you produced some profiles which are bundled as part of the official Kemper rig packs, but are you considering creating and selling some commercial profiles in the future? A rig pack featuring your favourite settings on your Satan would be top of my list to acquire. Plus if you have the time, you must surely have plenty of opportunity to profile a wide range of amps & pedals when you are loaned them for demonstration and review purposes?
Good morning all subscribers! This one goes out for all the ladies out there!
Congrats! 🍾🎈
all the ladies in the house say , hola ola ! Haha
That question about music and kids was from russian man named Sergey
Hey cOla, what do you think about the band Vitalism? I think they are top of the line progressive metal.
Ah ola you made me spark up my old Amiga to play chaos engine again. Congrats on the awards dude!
Sorry to hear you have such a hard time with mixing drums! Would love to collab on something like that at some point.....

Dropped the ball there Ola. Should have been FAQ69 for the "all female" version. ;)
No, not 69. The number ladies like is 77. It's like 69, but you get 8 more. 🤣

I wont tell you how to raise your kids when it comes to music but if you dont mind I would like to offer my perspective and I hope you get a chance to read this.
Always a pleasure to hear Finland mentioned but we're not part of the Scandinavia, only part of the Nordic countries.
OLA!!!!
Hi Ola, I'd like to know your opinion about using a chromebook as a home studio. Thanks!
Hey Ola, what can you say about a band type o negative? They was awesome
For Swedish Riff of the day, can you do Disfear or Anti Cimax?
thanks for your faqs about the gears , really helps choosing when there is so much stuff on the market , i actally got the revv g3 , the horizon precision drive and the mooer radar for my christmas presents from myself !!
Hi Ola, just watched all of your FAQ videos in a day and subbed, my question is: What do you think the next biggest leap in music will be? Greetings from the UK!
Doom metal; check out Daylight Dies. One of my favorite songs with some sweet guitars & harmonics is All We Had.
What do you think about Wolfheart ? And Cypecore if you ever heard about it ?
Hello Ola! Now that you've had the chance to try out both the Fortin Nameless Suite and the Fortin NTS Suite, which do you prefer and why?
Amazing channel keep up the good work. Do you have US distribution for Solar guitars? Or is ordering through the website the only way to get one?
Thumbs up on the awards .
Definitely deserve them.
Personally, I'm very happy I found your content.
Plan on joining after the holidays.
I love you man, no homo
Do you like Edge of Sanity, Dan Swano stuff??
Hey Ola, what string gauge and which string brand would you recommend for a drop A seven string guitar ?
Keep up the good vids 👍
11s or 12s
@@christianvollenhoven Thanks
Yo Ola, what do you think on produce music with an ipad? Do you try it before? Awesome burp btw!!
Hey Ola, i am a solo guitarist planning to record an EP (instrumental mainly guitars think Russian Circles)Should
I spring to for tracking in a studio or invest in more gear to record at home (current focusrite scarlet with GarageBand). Thanks! Love the channel and the burps!
Yo Ola! Luv your stuff ! Can you talk about Dime’s (rest in peace) tuning. If I’m not mistaken he tuned to 430
Hz vs 440hz.
Also, Dime loved his herbs, do thou partake?
Ola, check out Candlemass, Sorcerer, Solitude Aeternus.. its faster Doom haha
yeah that was some funeral doom here, the slowest one
Yay
FAQ Question
Hey Ola, hope you are doing well keep up the great work.
I was wondering if you could talk about the neck profiles that you have gone for with the Solar guitar, as in are they compound or the same the whole way through? Also does the whole range have the same neck profile and say nut width?
Thanks
Chaz
The way Ola mispronounces the word "category" is really kind of adorable.
Ola, what do you think about the band Vitalism? I think they are top of the line progressive metal.
Hello Ola, I am beginner and I approve your suggestion to play doom metal. Only bad part is tuning guitar to C# for MDB songs :D
Hey Ola,
Will the Solar A2.7WHM restock on Thomann and/or the official website, or are they discontinued now?
Is the Evertune bridge works well with a Drop A tuning and something like a low A (60)? Can the saddle go way back enough for proper intonation?
Loving that Pain of Salvation Remedy Lane album you suggested a bit ago in an FAQ. Pretty cool band. Thanks Ola!
Hey Ola, what do you think of Nocturnus? Can you mimic Mike Davis' sound?
Hi Ola, Hope everything is great!
What's your opinion on Celtic Frost? Style, riffs and so on..
I'm a drummer subscriber btw! Great videos man!
Hey Ola! What do you prefer for Drop B? The A2.6 Baritone or just the A2.6 with the "standard" scale length?? Thanks, love your vids!
Any opinions/recommendations for wireless guitar systems?
Pallbearer - Foundations of Burden. Great album. Worth a listen.
Hey Ola,
How are you? there is nothing i love more than play the guitar. No matter what you do, you have always a great guitar tone👍🏼 Can you show me how to get a killer tone out of a Engl Powerball 2 with a Maxon OD 808 X boost?
You are a great guy by the way
Ola would you ever be able to do a full mix/master tutorial of a short sample song?
Hey Ola. What brand/model is that decibel meter on your desk? I’m looking for something similar and everything I’ve seen has mixed reviews. Thanks!
ola, what is your opinion on the recent passing of Oli Herbert (all that remains)? Do you think his death was an accident or even murder? as his wife doesn't seem to be upset about it and could be involved with his death
Maybe I'm a bit late, but another female question:
Why is everybody impressed by me using 12's on standard tuning? It isn't that heavy of a gauge when you get used to it
Hey Ola. You said you didn't like EMG's. So what is your opinion on passive EMG's like the H4's and the Marty Friedman signatures.
I wanted to suggest you to check out Soreption, but I found your comment under their video for The Anti-Present already so I guess you know what's up! I really had to search for their stuff right after seeing them with Revocation, they were so good live that they made their music look easy to play. Cheers from Italy!
Nice riff of the day, learned the riff a while ago and forgot about it. Now im having so much fun with it again, wonder how i forgot it.
Hi Ola ! What do you think , will ax8 pluged actually in line (mixer) on live concert sound good or as well as random cab on the stage ?
