    Nice man, I can say that playing at tough tables made me learn very quickly how to be disciplined and not leak chips, and to be especially aware of position against good players.
    But those loose, limp/calling tables are always the best for profit :):)

      It’s that easy 🤣

    • @TheNernst79
      @TheNernst79 Месяц назад +2

      That is, literally, all that it takes. Play tight, hit your hands, bluff minimally. You can be very profitable at low stakes(well, in comparison to buy in etc), but the variance is high because people hate folding(low stakes NL is one step above limit poker, and the people who can't find a limit game will just play 1/2 or 1/3 and play it the same way as they do limit) The rake is also very difficult to beat at low stakes. It's so straightforward that it's boring, which is why everyone moves up to 2/5 at the absolute earliest moment they can.

    • @Harpazo24
      @Harpazo24 Месяц назад +1

      @@TheNernst79Ehh, I just stay at 1/3…easy to print money at that level. Catch a set, wait for opponent to overplay top pair, check raise on turn and all-in on river. $50-$100/hour easy.

    I like your channel, man. ....Reminds me of my own early days a couple decades ago. I like your thought process. You're headed in a good direction.
    The only question left is: Will you succumb to the inevitable downturns of unimaginable proportions and the self doubt experienced throughout them? Those who can weather the storms the best have more longevity. Best advice? - Don't take shots your bankroll can't justify. -All the best, Shmeal (Borgata, Atlantic City)
    -subbed.

    • @NorCal_Poker
      @NorCal_Poker  Месяц назад +1

      Appreciate the support, solid advice!

    •  Месяц назад

      @@NorCal_Poker Just for complete transparency, on Monday I took a shot I should _not_ have been taking, and guess what happened? I blew up my bankroll. LOL! 🤦🤦‍♀🤦‍♂
      I just wanted to demonstrate some honesty in showing the difference between _giving others_ advice and _walking the talk_ as a player. ....I mean, I got what I deserved.
      However, I'm a fkn grinder and I'm just going to start all over again for the umpteenth time. lol
      The truth is that I have no _real_ expectation of the prospect of being a winning player, so it's not surprising to me that I got smacked down. When I go play live, I look at it as a night out. I've been playing long enough to know that I need to temper my expectations. I socialize, I drink some, I laugh, and I have fun - first and foremost.
      I suppose that if I did sharpen up my game and was judicious and consistent with my play and my bankroll management, that I could _maybe_ make $40 - $50 an hour playing 1/3, and that's still a possibility - it's just not something that is that important to me at this point in my life (in my 53rd year).
      So long as I am still having fun at the table and still enjoy the game, then I'd be fine with being a small all-time loser, to be frank.
      *_Extra bit of advice garnered through experience:_* In order to prevent and/or stave off disappointment and utter let-downs, one must temper one's expectations to something more reasonable and perhaps, _more_ importantly, prepare oneself mentally for the worst case scenarios. This basic principle can be applied to virtually all of life's endeavors, experiences, and even relationships, be they romantic, platonic, professional, or some combination of the three.
      Anyway, a big cheers from the east coast to the west!
      ...(But we're still , baby!)

    It always makes me scratch my head when I watch these videos where people are willing to call an all-in river bet in a multi-way pot with just 1 pair. If I flop top pair or have an over pair to the board and the pot starts ballooning when there aren't any draws on board my Spidey-senses start tingling. I guess not everyone has Spidey-senses :)

    In the QQ hand on day 2, you should definitely shove the turn. The pot is already too big. He's calling with all of his draws there like 10-J and 7-8. When you have all the Queens, it's most likely that your opponent has a draw. That didn't happen to be the case ~this~ time, but that's the most consistent way to play that hand. Sure is nice to flop a 1-outter though, eh? 😏
    I felt you played every other hand very well, however. You have a good analysis of your position in these hands too, so I'm surprised you're only break even for the year.

    Alex:there is an interesting hand I want to share with you.I had Q9 club on the button and I called against a 45 dollar open from the MP. The flop came 678 with 2 clubs, opponent jam 1200 all in on a 90 dollar pot, what the heck, I was tank for 30 seconds and decided to called with the intention of hitting my 2 live card also and I put him on Ak. If he got over pair he would not put out an intimate bet like that. Unfortunately, turn 3 diamond and river 4 spade and opponent show AK spade ♠️ and I lost. I completely missed all my outs and lost 1300 this session. Last 2 weeks been a very rough for me, may I ask about your thoughts about this hand?

    • @NorCal_Poker

    As the preflop aggressor, I think you should be checking more from out of position on the flop. Seems like you always bet which is easily exploitable as when you check you never have a good hand. This may not mater in low stakes as most people are oblivious to what is going on.
