      In a game where someone is considering hero calling with QQ on that PLO hand? Sure.
      In a normal 200bb 5/5 game that doesn't have bomb pots like at the Bike? Likey more difficult.

      With PLO bomb pots give it a bit of an asterisk, considering its a different game and not many games have this. Would be ideal if you could track these separately on this saga.

    I like this series a lot. Could you spend just a LITTLE time next time showing a couple of hands you considered playing pre-flop and then folded? I don't mean folding junk, I mean, "Now normally I'd three-bet here but something seems off, so I fold" kind of hands.

    I have an idea for a new series.
    Could you possibly spend 2 or 3 days playing at various casinos around the country and reporting on the differences between the regions? Where are they soft? Where are they fairly tough? And general thoughts?
    I am solely interested in the poker competition, though if you want to share your thoughts on the casino itself, that'd be "extra".
    1. Hustler or Bicycle in L.A
    2. Downtown Las Vegas vs the Strip.
    3. Seminole Hard Rock Tampa
    4. Borgata in Atlantic City
    5. MGM Grand Detroit
    6. Beau Rivage in Biloxi

    The bomb pots in my room can be a drag at times. I do play them but they play 2 each every dealer change. So $60 an hour is the price of admission ($15x4) to play them and they rake them higher than the typical single board hands. When they first introduced them in my main room people punted way more than they do now. So for a while they were amazing. I understand some players wanting to minimize the variance and BB bleed by avoiding them. On the other side of the coin, the profit potential of playing them is not lost on me either. In any event, love your content and look forward to more of this series.

    I love watching mariano vlogs for its entertainment + I think he's pretty good, so love that a theoretical player like yourself is doing these vlogs! Very interesting hearing mariano's more gto-grounded deep stack approach (although still exploitative) vs your highly exploitative reasoning. Keep up the slow rolls! (that shit was fucked uppp)

    • @Yaseen47
      @Yaseen47 4 месяца назад

      Everyone is brutal. Most of all Mariano. Only a very small % of professional poker players are actually quality poker minds. A VERY small %.
      You don't need to be good at poker to make a living playing poker. Not at all. You just need to be less bad than your opponents are.

    • @Yaseen47
      @Yaseen47 4 месяца назад

      😂 I just re-read your comment. "Mariano's GTO grounded approach" has me rolling 😂😂😂. That young man bless his heart does not have a clue. It's unfortunate that he is hell bent on learning the hard way, cuz he's def a good kid. Based on what I've seen the only way he will learn is by blasting off his entire roll and realizing there's something more for him to learn. (Which is always the case in poker... ALWAYS).
      He could have paid for top coaches by now. He hasn't. Almost everything that comes out of his mouth is jaw-on-the-floor level nonsense. The more he speaks the more clear it is that he does exactly zero homework. 😂😂😂
      On the other hand he could possibly just run good forever and keep on making videos that make new players and casuals worse than they already are. This is actually possible there are a few players that magically just run good forever.
      And mark my words if you don't already know your ass from your face in poker, watching Mariano is only gonna make you worse.

    • @killerdragon333
      @killerdragon333 4 месяца назад

      Maybe i'm throwing around GTO too lightly, but I definitely see theory grounding many of mariano's choices when I watch him play. Of course, maybe it's basic theory or things that might be seen as trivial to people who study poker extensively now, but I feel a lot of the decision making is solidly founded. Then again, I'm definitely not nearly as good at poker as those who have spent a lot of time studying the game so it's possible I have a warped perception of skill. Even harder to tell who is actually good in a game that relies so heavily on chance and wherein "bad decisions" can be justified as "exploits" (validly so, as Mark shows via nodelocking)

    Do you think 27:10 is a live tell where opponent moves his cards to the side to make his stack more visible? Some times you will see opponent bring cards closer to them, which is a sign of strength. Do you put any weight into these live tells or just blindly follow your blueprint?

    • @hungryhorsepoker
      @hungryhorsepoker  4 месяца назад +1

      i don’t blindly follow anything. i appreciate you watching the videos and trying to learn, but based on a few other comments i think you’re misunderstanding a bit. everything i do is based on why, not what. nothing is a memorized thing to do because this is what you do. it all shifts based on the variables in front of me.

    You answered one of my long sought after questions like, "If my opponents only 3bet QQ+ and AK, shouldn't I be able to open super wide?" However, I always thought that if you raise bigger preflop, you should tighten up your range no? I assume you're right, that when they don't 3bet much at all, just go wide and raise bigger.

      @hungryhorsepoker  4 месяца назад

      as is the question to everything in poker “it depends!”
      rfi range and open sizing depends upon:
      1) stack depth
      2) post flop edge
      3) freq of getting 3b
      4) how wide they are calling

    Good video. The T9 hand can never be a fold simply from their ability to spaz with 2 pairs. (they "put" you on AK and don't want a straight/higher 2 pair card to roll off - fish logic)
    I mean the A10 jam on a rb board is more ridiculous than KQ, for example. Also they will have some sets which they "trapped" preflop with. I think you were a bit results oriented there.

      @@hungryhorsepoker I meant results oriented in the narration of the video. It's sample size 1, you made the right read in that specific hand, but do you really think you don't have 25% equity vs his jamming range on the turn?

    9:15 this is obviously a good call. How would you consider folding here?

    Bomb pots are a huge boost to the hourly. I’ve never played in a PLO bomb pot that didn’t seem at least marginally acceptable- in terms of players who know wth is going on with 1000 bb’s in.

    This series of videos is brilliant …the hater inside of me/devil on my shoulder always says “yeah low stakes games are different yadie, yadie, yada” and watching this shuts them the fuck up.
