Four "FISHY" Poker Plays That Actually PRINT
You should bet A LOT MORE OMG!!! HE SNAPPED WITH QUEENS HE WAS LIKE WHY ARENT YOU BETTING MORE? And judging on HOW FAST he snapped your bet off you should still bet here on the river when the ace appears since Ace, X hands will NEVER SNAP CALL as they only have ACE HIGH on the turn! That check was kind of scared afraid of an Ace, if he did have an ace on the turn he would've tank before calling turn bet!!! And plus flushes MISSED!!! Meaning even should he raise and turns the queens into a bluff which almost NEVER HAPPENS, you can still bluff catch with the kings if necessary using the fact that most straight and flush draws went BUST on the river!!!
I put him on that flush that’s why he snap checked
I feel like he would’ve folded even if you bet on the river because he was looking for his set.
I can tell you 100% of the times I lost, I considered folding.
you played this hand perfect
I pot it on these low boards after I 4-bet OOP for the same reasons you stated, so many over-pairs have to peel one bet and so many turn or river cards will scare QQ-99. I play 5-10 with BB Ante 3K deep at the Wynn so 300BB is my normal. A or K hi board I like 1/4 pot and 3 street all in if I want to get it in.
Si beteabas el river te iban a foldear de una… ganaste buen dinero
If you're 4-betting KK pre-flop you might as well just accept your fate and shove no matter who raises you. Dude's doing too much for the vid.
Low stakes is $0.05 $0.10
Baller move reraising with 98 suited !
I dont get the point of sizing from you on the turn. You bet 300 on the flop and when the pot is 1150 you go 300 again? Dont makes sense at all
You missed a value bet on the river too. That ace is a scare card but he almost never has an ace in that spot unless it’s AA and didn’t 5 bet pre. Very Small chance he has a set or A8 suited but for the most part Any non AA hand is not getting to the river on that board because your holding the key blocker for him to get to that river if he had AK. So I think you made two blunders in the hand. Not sizing up on the turn, and missed value on the river. I would have been trying to get stacks in on that hand. Even though 300bb with that hand is dicey. Given that run out though, should be betting a turn size to set up a river shove.
Bamboozle is my word
Me yesterday donation $200 with 48 suited with a pair of 8’s because I won a big hand the hand before 😂😅
I love that you also keep posting your mistakes, keeps me sane when i do dumb shit at the tables lol, just shows you can still make some mistakes yet still be a very profitable player.
🥰🥰🥰
@@hungryhorsepokerI did like this one. Not a huge mistake but may have been what you were thinking at the time it happens. Other things may apply to factor too. Like how his betting patterns were like and so on. Good video!
I got a question for peeps on here. Last night on a low stakes live game I had hearts suited 10 J. The flop gave me the Q K hearts. I wasn't aggressor but I felt I wasn't going to fold. Open ended Royal and straight flush possibility with two chances. The villain with first action was betting medium and I was calling. I got the flush but villain had my A for his flush... So what kinda info can u give me? Did I make any mistakes in trying to go for it? I believe I had 11% chances on getting one of the two cards I needed. I'm new to all the lingo but have played poker for 20 years
Probably needed to go aggressive, especially on that flop.
@@roscojenkins7451 you mean the villain had Ahxh for the nut flush? If so there's not much you could do IMO, you're going to both continue on flop and you're going to get coolered on any heart other than the 9
Your percentages are way off though. You have nine outs for a flush and six outs for a straight. That's 15 outs twice. You don't need one of two cards to make your hand, you need one of 15.
@kennethchia4194 i wasn't clear. I knew there was a chance that he possibly had a A high flush (which he did) but if I got the A of hearts or the 9 of hearts I'd have either a royal flush or a straight flush. I already knew i had multiple outs for a flush which I ended up getting (lost to the A high flush) In 20 years I've never been that close to a royal so played way more loose and didn't fold to the aggressors bets. Hope that cleared that up.
@@Grant112988 dude was holding the A of hearts which I knew there was a possibility but their wasn't a 3rd heart close enough to bluff a straight flush. (The turn was a low hearts)
Mistake was calling them Kigglies
They’re kiggidies
Villain having AA makes sense here, as he's a pro I'm surprised he didn't go all in after you checked the river.
HH could have hit an ace as well. Betting with QQ as a bluff feels like a bad idea.
@kennethchia4194 If HH hit an ace he should be value betting the river.
What a knobjockey lucking into a hand and crowing
Hahaha
I dont get it, you basicly played a 2 street game, by checking the river. 😅 Or is the mistake that you bet small on the turn? 😅
The small bet on the turn allows AK to call, that would be my thinking why he didn't bet. AK would have folded to jam, or maybe even $700.
Nice value check bra
The concept of "not making enough" being a "mistake" is counter-intuitive for most people; but it shouldn't be...
Only ace or queen would be a bad river for you (maybe even a King) all other rivers you get huge value on river
@11:20 In my experience both in low stakes cash games and tournaments, when an EP opponent donk leads flops it's almost always top pair or a flush/straight draw. It's almost never "absolute garbage".
I think the villain could guess that you had an overpair. He could have raised big representing suited Ax. Any explanation why this could be a wrong way to play?
Unless the oponent decided to slow play his AA as he was in position, were he to have AK he would have folded by the turn, especially given the flush draw is blocked as we're holding the Kh. So we're only up agains the slow played AA, so maybe that's why its a mistake not to bet river... however, I am no expert..... actually, after watching it again, the small turn sizing would allow AK to come along so would infact bring that into his range, hence the check back. As he says, he would want to play a 4bet preflop into a 'two street game',and should have jammed turn where over pairs would have a hard time laying it down.
You mean bet big on the river? HH is almost certainly calling
Would AA have 5-bet preflop?
sometimes yes, sometimes no
He should have gone like $700/$800 on the turn.
Just curious I’m a newbie r u not scared he may have an 8 or is that a dumb question
no dumb questions! because of the action preflop, never ever worried about an 8.
Not in a 4 bet pot, any hand with an 8 would have folded
Not likely. CO wouldn’t 3-bet with 8’s or any A8x combinations so it’s fair to rule them out.
Okay thx guys
@@darintsuD2 theres 3 combos of 8's and A8s but 24 combos of 9's to Q's. more likely that hes ahead of anything else
That was not a Huge mistake.
It was a mistake in the sense that Axh gets a good price and gets there on turn. And he didn't get nearly enough value on turn when 99 TT JJ QQ would have called ~pot. He lost out on $700-$1000.
You’re right it was a massive mistake. He lost like 100 BB because he sized down. It was a 100 BB mistake, absolutely massive miss for his win rate.
@@XxOffTonexXWinning a pot is never a massive mistake. And there's zero guarantee a heavy bet on the turn or the river wouldn't have him folding queens, on the basis that he's fearing kings or aces. Depending on the type of player that's not impossible at all.
Early finally
Hi
First comment lets gooo
He probably had deuces
Another great lesson in skill not beating luck
This is actually really good information. Thank you for the info.
Ohhhhh it's nasty but you couldn't have played it any differently unless you were on some serious 'nuts or fold' kind of discipline which gets ypu beat 9/10 anyway
My opponent had a pair of 2s -_-
A pocket pair is…..just a pair. You had a two grand pot with just a pair when there was a pair on the board. Foolish. At the end of the day you couldn’t fold that pretty pocket pair and he took you. Rookie mistake.
He just was making sure he had the nutz before calling your all in and Immediately turned over after the river. Not a slow roll. Maybe a little slow needing to make sure he had the AK of hearts…
He just was making sure he had the nutz before calling your all in and Immediately turned over after the river. Not a slow roll. Maybe a little slow needing to make sure he had the AK of hearts, but reasonable considering all chips are already in. Good to make sure you didn’t blow it reading your cards….
More like this. I struggle to think this way in the moment, but am gradually adjusting/improving. Thanks. Keep it up.
Hey Mark, I wanted to come in here and thank you for these videos! They have helped me see poker better, I just booked my first 700$ win yesterday playing 1/2, please keep up the quality content
I'm not folding pocket Kings preflop in a cash game. I have folded them late in tournaments. I folded Aces preflop once at a final table. 3 all ins out of 7 players left. Big jump in money. Would've lost to a full house. Winner had the other 2 covered, 5 players left. Went on to chop 1st and 2nd.
Great video Mr. Horse! I see lots of players trying to implement Hungry Horse methods. For example, when they have a weak hand or nothing on the turn they bet small hoping their opponent will raise with their strong hands and call with their one-pair hands. This sets up an overbet bluff on the river in the latter case. The obvious counter to a small turn bet is to re-raise large. DO NOT try to bluff much in small stakes unless the effective stack is at least $500. Top-pair, shitty kicker will call you all day long!
It RUNED his day
Personal experience. I played professionally during my studies (medicin), and had a higher income than I do now. Still, I wouldnt want to switch back to poker full time. Statistically, I might have been one of the few % that could live on poker, but I lack other character traits to make it work for me. I was depressed and lonely. Money didnt change that fact.
Must be nice to have your opponent in a cooler spot. My opponent calls with K8 there and immediately kills me on the turn with a 13% chance to hit
Honestly 80% of being a winning (live) poker player, is deciding which table with which people you play on. Obviously you need your knowledge in Theory aswell :)
The power of position. You realize your equity better because you can check back your draws and get paid.
